138: save1 Attending the Banquet

Not only that, Zhang Yuelu did not seem surprised by the sudden shift in Lu Lele's deanor. She maintained her posture with hands down by her sides, and her expression remained largely unchanged.

Only after Liu Lili had departed did she approach Lu Lele's side and ask of her own accord:

"Young Miss, is there anything I can assist you with?"

It was clear that Zhang Yuelu realized Lu Lele would require assistance next. She had not rely been standing by acting as a decorative vase just now; she had been listening closely to the conversation between Lu Lele and Liu Lili the entire ti.

Lu Lele turned her gaze toward this young maid. Compared to Helena, although Zhang Yuelu could not be manipulated as easily as her own arm, she was her father's person, and she could still be trusted.

Moreover, Zhang Yuelu seed to be of the fairly intelligent type, at least significantly quicker-witted than Helena.

Lu Lele nodded thoughtfully and said:

"Go help Liu Lili unpack her luggage. While you are at it, tell her that I will be preparing a welco dinner specifically for her tonight. When you return, inform of her reply."

Zhang Yuelu nodded slightly and said:

"Yes, Young Miss."

In this manner, half an hour passed.

Zhang Yuelu returned to the room and spoke aloud, catching the attention of Lu Lele, who was resting with eyes closed:

"Young Miss."

"Oh, Yuelu, you are back."

Lu Lele imdiately snapped back to full wakefulness, directing her gaze toward Zhang Yuelu as she asked:

"What did she say?"

Zhang Yuelu then curtsied to Lu Lele and said:

"Miss Liu stated that she will attend the dinner on ti. She is very much looking forward to the banquet you have prepared for her and wishes to express her most sincere gratitude to you."

In truth, this welco dinner had been ordered prepared by the Earl, though there was essentially no difference between that and Lu Lele preparing it herself. However, judging from Liu Lili's answer alone, it was truly impeccable and flawless.

It seems she has learned her rhetoric quite well.

"Heh..."

Lu Lele laughed, her smile brilliant, like a flower blooming in spring.

Liu Lili was clearly no ordinary girl, and certainly not the daughter of a minor noble. She possessed a maturity that did not belong to this age group. She might assu that her sickly and frail self would be easy prey to hunt, but in the end, she would make Liu Lili understand that the relationship between prey and hunter was not as simple as it appeared on the surface. Who was the prey and who was the hunter was still undecided.

Seeing this, Zhang Yuelu hesitated for a mont before asking:

"Young Miss, I would like to ask a question that might be a bit presumptuous, how do you view Miss Liu?"

"Her?"

Lu Lele paused for a mont, not answering imdiately. Originally, with the thought of Isolation Induction in mind, she had intended to say she did not like Liu Lili, but before the words could leave her mouth, they were intercepted by reason.

Because Lu Lele suddenly recalled that Zhang Yuelu was the Earl's person. If she truly said that, news that "the Young Miss dislikes the new study companion" would reach the Earl's ears. When that happened, how the Earl would treat Liu Lili would be uncertain.

However, if she answered that she "liked" her, it would similarly have a certain impact on the Isolation Induction conquest strategy, possibly even causing the strategy mode to end before it had even begun.

But if she did not answer, that was not a very good choice either. Thinking carefully, why would Zhang Yuelu suddenly ask this kind of question? Could it be that she was simply out of curiosity and wanted to know Lu Lele's opinion? That made no sense.

There was only one possibility, the Earl wanted to know if Lu Lele was satisfied with this maid and study companion he had found. In any case, Lu Lele had to put the Earl at ease first, so he wouldn't concern himself with this matter every day.

Therefore, after a brief consideration, Lu Lele decided to brush it off for now and said, asuring her words carefully:

"It is too early to say. After all, we have only just t. I cannot judge a person solely based on a first impression."

After saying this, Lu Lele paused slightly, then tossed the question back to Zhang Yuelu:

"Yuelu, what is your take?"

Zhang Yuelu clearly had not expected Lu Lele to answer like this and throw the question back at her. Her eyes widened slightly in surprise, but she reacted quickly enough and replied:

"The sa as you, more ti is needed for observation. It is difficult to evaluate right now."

Heh, quick on the uptake.

However, Lu Lele did not intend to tease the little maid any further and said:

"Yuelu, help change into a set of formal, beautiful clothes. I want to wear them for the dinner."

She would dress to the nines, attend the dinner prepared for her beloved, and beco the most beautiful flower there.

"Yes, Young Miss."

...

...

Liu Lili sat upright at the dining table, awaiting Lu Lele's entrance.

According to etiquette, won were not permitted to use the main drawing room, so even for a welco dinner, it could only be held in the side hall.

The Earl had originally intended to attend, but in the afternoon, he received so unknown news and suddenly left in a hurry, leaving behind only the order for the servants to prepare the dinner properly.

Therefore, the only ones qualified to attend this banquet were Lu Lele, Liu Lili, and Lu Lele's tutor, Zhang Lenglan.

The Head Maid or the Butler would originally have been eligible to participate, but the Earl's residence currently had neither a Head Maid nor a Butler, so the banquet consisted of only three place settings.

As the daughter of the Earl's tutor, Zhang Lenglan actually resided within the castle. However, this woman was a standard corporate slave who clocked out the mont work was done, and Lu Lele could only see her during working hours.

Liu Lili was not wearing that high-end black maid uniform, but had changed into a blue gown, dignified yet not ostentatious.

Zhang Lenglan, on the other hand, was still wearing her black religious habit, though without the hood. She had boldly used a bouquet of fresh flowers as a hair ornant, making her appear less monotonous and rigid, adding a touch of gentle beauty.

While waiting, Liu Lili originally wanted to strike up a conversation with Zhang Lenglan, but the latter only smiled faintly at her and made a hushing gesture, seemingly not wanting to chat.

Liu Lili felt slightly awkward, but knowing her place, she did not persist and waited quietly. However, she did not have to wait for too long.

Lu Lele soon arrived at the banquet site under Zhang Yuelu's guidance.

Liu Lili cast her gaze over unintentionally, but once she did, she could look away no longer.

At this mont, Lu Lele wore a bright red evening gown. The deep crimson of the dress and the paleness of her skin interwove on her body to form a wondrous, peerless beauty. The large red bow at her chest perfectly concealed the shortcoming of her flat chest, while the layers of stacked lace made her look like a flower in full bloom, beautiful and dazzling.

Even Liu Lili, who viewed Lu Lele as a conquest target, had to admit at this mont that the entrance of the little girl before her was simply stunning. She was beautiful to a degree that was almost difficult to describe in words.

She truly was too beautiful.

Liu Lili subconsciously gulped, her heart rate suddenly accelerating.
