Chapter 249: State of despair and retribution

The dwarven kingdom was in state of despair and retribution as Rein brought to light what has been buried in the history of their kingdom.

With the whole story not being clear, Rein was not dogged on making sure he finishes the quest but at least he was sure that the dwarves were a part of what happened, and he also suspects that the wyverns were also a part of it, but since wyverns were creatures of lower intelligence the one he needed to find was the wyvern king, the one that reigns above all wyverns.

The dwarven king sat opposite Rein who sat on his throne.

"I know our sin is unforgiveable dragon lo–"

"Deity" Theo said being in his dragon form, so was Azes.

"Dragon Deity" the King kowtowed again so did the the elders in the Palace.

"Please, do not destroy put kingdom! I have tried for many years to make sure that we uphold our glory, I never knew that our ancestors did such a dreadful thing, but still my responsibility to this kingdom does not exist because of them, if you would give

a chance I will take this kingdom to the right path, if you would just please forgive us" the King pleaded.

"So you want to avert the punishnt? What about sacrificing the lives of humans to a monster just to protect you own people, how far has the dwarves fallen, was I so stupid to place large expectations on you all?"

Even as Rein spoke, anger and pain could be felt in the tone of his voice.

"It was my cowardice, great one, please do not take the punishnt on my people rather, make

be the one to bare the punishnt, I made the decision, let

suffer for it" the King pleaded.

The dwarven elders opposed imdiately, starting with the first elder.

"No!! Great one, if you will punish anyone punish , it was I that convinced the king, because we lacked man power and because of our insecurities we couldn’t ask for help from other kingdoms." He said.

"Let it be all of us, all elders, punish us all, we were supposed to support the king towards the right path but we did a bad job at it, we all deserve your divine punishnt"

Rein looked as they all pleaded, as angry as he was, he couldn’t help but find the scenario irritably funny.

While his comrades all aligned around him, making it looked like the dwarven kingdom had been overruled by another nation.

"Reinard!! Reinard!! Reinard!! Reinard!! Reinard!!" A thick voice repeatedly called from outside the Palace.

"Uh? Who is that?" Rein was puzzled.

One of the dwarven elders ran out to check, he ca back and whispered to the third dwarven elder.

The third dwarven elder raised his head up,

"If you would permit

to go out dear lord it seems my arrogant son is doing sothing rash, I will take care of this" he said and stood up.

"He probably knows

from sowhere, let him in" Rein said.

"Alright great one" he responded.

The dwarf ca in running with a tall lady, an elf beside him, she was looking quite shy.

"Reinard! Do you rember us?!!" The dwarf shouted.

Rein stared at them and he then smiled.

"Even if I don’t rember the dwarf, there’s no way I can forget the arrogant elf, Altinia" Rein said and pointed to the dwarf, "and you are Jask?"

"Its Hask" he said and happily moved close to Rein but the stare Bel and Azes gave him made him slowly go back.

Altinia shook her head, ’How did I end up with such a clueless fool... that Rein, is not on our level anymore...’

"Are you guys married?" Rein asked with a tone of relief.

"Yes!! Shocked, she completely fell in love with the man I am" Hask said flexing his muscles.

"Hahahahahahaaa" Rein laughed and got down from the throne to et then.

"It’s nice seeing you two together like this, I could swear she hated you back then in the academy, especially on our journey, funny how things turn around"

"I know right..." Hask replied, "by the way...you have really gotten stronger, I guess you didn’t stop training even after we left the academy, I an you were already so strong even before we left"

"Hahha..." Rein laughed shyly.

Altinia sighed, "Ignorant is a bliss" she said.

Like that Rein averted the awkward mont using his reunion as an excuse.

"Master is truly wise, I was looking forward to his decision, to think he would be this sly" Ariel said.

"Sly indeed" Godeye added.

The dwarven kingdom imdiately began to its restoration process within those days Rein stayed there, to create an armour but to also supervise and make sure that all that is being done is to the benefit of an alliance he would form when the empire he is building finally cos together.

"My lord, these are the samples of armour you have asked for, a silver body with black clothes and red edges. The ones for the generals and commander is unique with a shoulder glade." Gedhoir said.

"I want to see other options" Rein said as he obdlserved the sample of the armour he asked for which was for the soldiers that would be matching to war.

"Great one, I created sothing quite interesting you see, it’s a silver plate mail and white clothes, the the of a deity."

"Any specific attributes?" Rein asked.

"Not particularly but the damage absorption is high plus its durability is very good" the third elder said.

"Okay I’d like to test it, Bel put on the armour"

Bel quickly put on the army, he looked good in it. Rein was about to bring out the black sword but hesitated and instead tightened his fist.

"Great one seems to be underestimating m–"

~whoooosh~

The blow stopped right in front of the armour, but the armour was already cracked.

The third elder was shocked.

"Until you all are able to make an armour that can still be alright after what I just did, you all do not et even the least of my expectations." Rein said to all the dwarves working in the Royal smithy, the sound of hamring did not stop and the atmosphere of heat consud the air around, Rein had dragged them to there in order to make a sample armour for his armies but he was disappointed with what he saw.

"I wonder why?" He said.

"They’ve drifted too much..." Ariel said.

"That’s true, I should probably check their formulas" he said.

"Master you don’t need to do that always, I already have a way to fix it" Ariel said.

"How?" Rein asked.

"We give all of them the system, of course the class will be based on their innate talent but the blacksmithing ability will bloom again gradually if we do that atleast, then we can have them build an Altar here, where they can receive Quest and do the necessaries"

"Shall we do that" Rein said, "I’d like to return ho now, there’s a lot that needs to be done, we also still need to build the altar in other places, I talked to Arnette yesterday, he ntioned that Selsmire has been overtaken with less struggle, all they had to do was show them the power they each hold. He also said the Forgan empire is beginning to move. Yhuzia also said we would be forming the empire before the war, I need to return ho." Rein said.

Ariel smiled, "indeed master...I can sll how busy master will be after the formation of the empire and after the war with the forgan empire"

Rein sighed, "I should rest while I still can...you can go and deal with the dwarven issues. I need enough sleep" Rein said and entered into a large black cloud that suddenly opened.

"What the hell is that?" She thought aloud but wasn’t particularly surprised.

"Hey! Rein!!" Levon crossed him on his way.

Rein sighed, "what?what?what is it again?"

"Well... you said you will let

go if I win a duel with one your friends" he said.

"Yes I did"

"Hmph, I must admit that all your friends are incredible, but you forgot that your younger brother was there" he said with a grin.

"...what do you an?" Rein could not put the pieces together.

"I have soone I want to fight with in mind, and you better don’t go back on your word"

"Sure, who?" Rein asked.

"That kid!" He shouted pointing his hand to a white haired kid standing afar off them.

Rein’s eye widened and a loud burst of laughter followed, he cald himself afterwards and said, "yea sure, do whatever you like..." he turned to leave.

"Won’t you wait to watch" Levon said as Rein left.

"Well, what is the use, since I already know the outco" Rein said and yawned as he went along while Huemac continued to stare from afar at the deity who just decided to have a duel with him.
