Chapter 227: Deceit
A man approached Rein and bowed shortly, "I will take you to the governor’s abode"
The man looked different from others as he had a decent clothes on.
"And who are you?" Reinard asked
"I am Abdullah, the governor’s clerk."
"Lead the way" Reinard said.
After a while, they got to a mansion. Rein was received by the other servant and he was led to inside the mansion, he couldn’t help but think as he went inside, ’what exactly is going on, the city looks like life has been sucked out of it, yet the governor’s mansion looks so full of life...’
He was to finally enter into the room the governor would receive him, Azes and Katherine were blocked by the guards, Katherine was about to use her fist but Reinard stopped her.
"I’ll be fine on my own" he said and entered.
"Oh, what a wonderful day it is, it has been years since Rionvile ad’jal has received visitors. Today must be special" he said as he walked towards Rein, he shook Rein hands.
’He’s hands are full of rings...did he make the people like that?’ Rein thought.
"You can have your sit Visitor" he said and sat opposite where Rein was sitting, "I am Viscount Jamil Jalaludin, I’m the governor of this city so what have you co to do in our city?"
"Nothing, I will be waiting three days for my friends, I chose this city because it is the nearest city to where I’m going" Rein said.
"Oh I see, then you will need sowhere to stay, I can let you stay in my mansion because as you would have seen, the city is no proper place for you to stay"
"Yes I did see... and I can’t help but wonder what exactly is going on?" Rein asked.
The Governor sighed, "Those people brought upon themselves the state they’re in. Do you know why Rionvile was called the city of guile?"
"...thieves?"
"Yes Visitor, Rionvile ad’jal used to be a city of bards, great music of tales was told here but soon a curse fell on us, with the rise of war, the people cared not about tales anymore, my lineage has always been the governors of Rionvile ad’jal but things got different when the empire’s started fighting against each other, our Kingdom Saleem Tarik, known as the peaceful nation refused to join hands with any alliance, hence we were hated, the war took a great toll on us, resources were cut short, a mighty drought fell on us, and bodies from the war were dumped in our walls. Hence the people resorted to stealing to sustain their bellies, I tried my best to help them, but they found it had to believe that Rionvile ad’jal, Saleem Tarik as a whole kingdom cannot return to what it used to be, they stole so much that people ran way from our cities, the ones that were wrathful, ca in and slayed n, raped won and left whatever was left of it, now what you see is what they left... all my sparkling rings, my fine house is all I have left of my lineage."
Rein sighed, ’so that is how it was, I feel sorry I doubted him for a mont’
"My guards will show you to your room" he said.
Rein stood up, "do you need help" he asked.
"Yes Visitor we need help, but it is not
you will ask, it is the people and we are not the only ones that need help, Saleem Tarik needs help, except you build a nation within the blink of an eye, I will advise that you should not help us either, we can’t blossom when the Kingdom itself is dying."
Rein bowed slightly to the governor and left.
His room was quite luxurious and spaceflight, he couldn’t stop pacing and thinking since he settled in.
"What’s wrong father?"
"Azes, I want to help these people"
"Well I’m sure if it is father then it is possible, but I have no idea how you will do it"
"...they need a reconstruction right from the beginning, from the buildings to the system, and I feel it will be irresponsible to pile it all on Yhuzia, he’s already busy trying to win the war, besides Yhuzia is a Strategist, he’s not an administrator. Even I am not very good at it myself." Rein sat down, "Azes"
"Yes Father?"
"I will be busy for the next few days, tell Katherine"
"Alright father"
Rein disappeared and entered into the mind library.
"I need to find all I can on administration since he said all knowledge from the entire world exist here, then that too should be here." He said as he walked around each book block and finally found what he was looking for.
*******************
Grim and Kritt arrived in the sa city two days after Rein had been there. Grim also felt the way Rein felt, the city was not what he had expected and likewise Rein he was welcod by Abdullah the governor’s clerk. But on getting to the governor’s mansion things were easier since he just had to explain that he was here to et up with Rein. The governor also stated to him that Rein has not been out of his abode for two days.
Grim knocked on Rein’s door and stood there.
"He won’t answer you" Katherin said as she walked towards him with her mouth full.
"The governor said he has not been out for two days"
"Yes" Katherine replied him.
"Why?" Grim asked.
"Sothing about wanting to help the people"
"Grim are you here?" A voice rang out from inside.
"Yes Master Rein"
Rein opened the door and ca out to Grim, "it’s nice to see you again. He walked out with so books in his hand, "I’m headed to the governor, follow " Rein said.
Grim followed silently behind Rein and Kritt watched from afar where he stood.
"That is Rein? He has changed so much, so much I can’t even recognize. But that voice, I can recognize it."
Rein and Grim got to the governor’s quarter, Rein dropped the books on the table.
"What is this young visitor?"
"I want to help you"
The governor sighed, "I understand your generosity but we can’t accept your help, the city of guile cannot bloom when the Kingdom itself is dying"
"I’ll help the kingdom in whole"
"Huh?" The governor was shocked.
"Unless young visitor has a fortune it is impossible to help a kingdom get back on its feet"
"I will help the kingdom get back on its feet but the kingdom will be indebted to . But all that I cannot do because I have urgent matters at hand right now which is why I’m leaving this book, in this book I’ve adequately written out so nas and the other books are administrative books that I feel are Integral in rebuilding a kingdom but the money important factor which is money, find Duke Erin of Forgan empire and show him the dragon sigil I drew on that book."
The governor had still not overco his shock, "but why?"
Rein smiled, "I need as much allies as I can get, a war is coming"
The governor sighed and his expression imdiately changed. Rein and Grim imdiately sensed the change in air.
"I appreciate your help... but it’s too late for us"
~whooosh~
n in dark clothing begin to appear all around the office, Rein’s expression grimd as his black air fluttered gently in the air.
"WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU ARE DOING NOW?!" Grim shouted.
"I lied to your, dear esteed visitor... of course the war caused us a great deal, but this city got ruined so that one day it might rise up greater than a nation itself and this is part of the process..."
’I sensed sothing was off from the beginning, he looked like a greedy yet he sounded not like one, I can’t believe I was fooled....’
’You might have learnt how to fight well but you didn’t learn how to not get deceived’ Godeye said in his head with a soft laughter.
’...’ Rein could not reply. He drew out the white dragon and frowned his face, "I will give you a chance to redeem yourself"
"There’s nothing you are capable of, esteed visitor, no one can do anything that’s why I’m working with them...the outlaws they are the only one"
"Outlaws...?!" Grim was shocked as he looked around with his eyes widened.
"What?" Rein asked while looking back at Grim.
One of the n jumped at Rein with his dagger, but he was blocked and pushed by Katherine who suddenly appeared in between Rein and him. He landed on his feet and slides back as he gazed at Katherine who was in front of Rein and gnarled at him.
Another one looked at him and looked towards Katherine, he spinned the dagger in his hands, as he moved a foot forwards.
~whamm~
A heavy pressure fell on him and every other person, they imdiately were pushed to the ground and the pressure kept forcing them.
One of them managed to raise his head to look at where this enormous power was coming from, when his gaze fell on Rein’s face he was devastated and sacred, in his entire life he had never seen a face of raging fire like that.
