Kael’s POV~

Half the night passed, and I was still standing there like a damn fool. I didn’t move. Didn’t go back. Because I couldn’t.

I just stood there, staring at that window like it would suddenly tell the truth.

My body was stiff, my mind going in circles. What if it really was her? What if I had seen wrong? I didn’t know, and that was killing inside.

The light in that room had gone dark a few tis already. Maybe she went to sleep. Maybe soone else went in. I didn’t care anymore. I just needed to see it once. Just one look. If I didn’t, I’d suffocate.

I let out a breath and looked around at the silent courtyard. The guards were there but too lazy, half asleep. I could move faster than them anyway. Climbing a wall wasn’t anything for . It was like walking straight on the ground.

So, before I could think twice, I moved.

My boots made no sound. My body knew what to do; the movents were sharp and practiced. Within seconds, I was up the side wall, slipping through the shadows like smoke.

And then I was inside.

The air slled soft and warm. It was a girl’s room.

I blinked once, looking around... pale curtains, flowers on the table, shiny little trinkets, and silk sheets. Everything scread delicate.

Definitely a girl’s room.

And not just any girl.

The way it was decorated, the colors, the details...it had status written all over it. In this palace, you could tell who soone was just by how their room looked. And this one... this one was close to the Elder Lycan Prince’s wing.

So she had to be soone important.

I walked slowly, my boots soft against the carpet, until I reached the bed. My heart thumped like it was ready to break my ribs.

There she was.

A small figure sleeping soundly, back turned to .

I froze.

Was it her? Those eyes... the ones I saw earlier. Were they hers?

I didn’t even know when I bent closer, my breath shaking a little. I just needed to confirm. Just see her face once.

And then she moved.

She turned, slowly, the moonlight falling right across her face, and I swear my breath stopped cold.

Sa silver, long hair. Sa skin tone.

Even her lips. Gods. Even that.

It was like the world had stopped.

Before I even realized it, I was too close... too damn close. My hand shook a little. My chest hurt like sothing was bursting inside . My wolf was howling inside, but I didn’t know if it was from pain or shock.

And then her eyes opened.

Silver. Exactly the sa silver.

For a second, I forgot how to breathe.

She gasped, ready to scream...but my hand was already on her mouth. Whether it was instinct or pure reflex. I didn’t even think.

Before I knew it, I was on her bed, pinning her down completely, one hand over her mouth, the other holding her wrists so tight she couldn’t move.

Her eyes widened, but all I could do was stare into her beautiful angry eyes. Yes, they were glaring at with the sa fierceness I rembered.

It was her. It had to be her.

Everything inside was shaking. My heart was going wild, my breath uneven. She looked exactly the sa, not just her face but every damn detail. If I roam my hand on her only, I will rember each detail that is fixed sowhere in my heart.

How could that be possible?

I whispered, half lost in my own head, "What’s your na?"

She glared at with the sa fiery look. Then before I could realize the warning in her eyes, she bit hard. Her teeth sank right into my palm, and I hissed, pulling my hand back.

Her glare burned through like a fla. And I... I still couldn’t stop looking.

Before she could even say a word, I heard myself whisper again like I was afraid of my own voice. "Are you real?"

And I didn’t wait for her answer.

My body moved on its own. My lips crashed against hers. It wasn’t planned. It wasn’t gentle. It was desperate, like I needed to feel she was real, that I wasn’t dreaming again.

Her lips were warm and soft, as I rember.

Her lips trembled against mine, but this ti not from fear, but from breath.

The sound she made was soft and unsure, and sothing inside broke wide open.

Her scent filled , wrapping around like a fog I never wanted to leave.

It was sweet, clean, and faintly wild, like rain on fresh petals. I could drown in it. Maybe I already was.

Without aning to, my fingers found hers. Her hand was so small, so fragile inside mine, and yet she held back...gripping my hand like she didn’t want to let go either. Our fingers fit together too easily, like they already knew how.

My other hand moved before I could think. It found her small waist; her skin was warm against , trembling under my touch. It felt too delicate and too precious, and my hold tightened just a little, like I was afraid she might disappear if I didn’t.

Her nightgown brushed against my wrist, the fabric thin, slipping slightly from her shoulder. Moonlight kissed her skin, pale and soft, and I had to look away for a second because it felt too much, too close to sothing I’d once lost.

But she didn’t pull away.

She just stared at with her silver eyes shining in the dark like stars. Angry, maybe. Confused. But so breathtaking that even her anger looked beautiful.

My chest ached. I wanted to say sothing, anything, but the words were gone. All I could do was look at her.

It was the way her hair fell over her cheek, the way her lips parted slightly from our kiss, and the way her eyes caught the light.

Gods, she looked unreal.

I raised a trembling hand and brushed my thumb just below her eye; it was a tiny, shaky touch.

"Don’t look at like that," I whispered, my voice rough. "You’ll make forget what’s real."

She didn’t answer. But she didn’t turn away either.

And in that silence, I realized how much I have yearned for her, that even if she stood in front of with a different face, I could still recognize her. Now I realized this is not just a mate bond; it was my yearning for her. That even if her scent or face was different.

I would still be drawn to her like a moth to the fla. Just one look from her eyes can drag to her.

For a second, everything was still.

Then, before I could blink, she moved.

One quick motion... faster than I expected... and suddenly, I was the one pinned to the bed.

Her hands pressed against my chest, her weight over . The air left my lungs in one short breath.

I stared up at her, stunned. She wasn’t weak. Not even close.

Her eyes burned like silver fire, her hair falling down around us like a curtain, trapping there with her scent, her warmth, and her anger.

"You’re really bold," she hissed, her voice sharp but low. "Breaking into soone’s room and kissing them? Aren’t you afraid?"

Her hand slid to my throat in a threatening manner, but for it was not hard... just enough for to feel her touch, the soft press of her fingers.

My throat moved under it, a slow swallow, and she felt it. Her glare deepened, but I couldn’t stop the smirk that tugged at my lips.

"Afraid?" I whispered. "No. You could scream all you want... I still wouldn’t move."

Her eyes flashed. "I will scream."

"Then scream," I said in a rougher voice now. "But I’ll still be here. Because I already found you."

Her hand tightened a little just in warning. "You’re insane."

"Maybe," I breathed, eyes locked on hers. "But you’re the reason for it."

For a heartbeat, silence.

Only her uneven breath brushing against my skin. Her scent mixed with mine, filling the small space between us.

She leaned closer, her silver hair brushing my cheek, her lips close enough that I could feel every word.

"I don’t rember having any obsessed man around ," she said slowly. "And definitely not one who sneaks into bedrooms."

I laughed softly, almost under my breath. "Guess your mory’s as cruel as your grip."

She frowned, but I saw that tiny flicker in her eyes. The way her heart stuttered for a second, sa as mine.

Her hand stayed on my neck, but it wasn’t a threat anymore.

It felt like a hold, a claim of the kind I didn’t want her to let go of.

"Selene..." I said her na softly, almost reverently. "You can hate all you want. But don’t pretend you don’t rember ."

She froze, her breath catching for just a mont, and that was enough.

Enough to tell I wasn’t alone in this madness.
