Darrien parks his car in the community, the girl is still with us. He rests his hands on the steering wheel and turns to

"Should I get Rex to co and stay with you? I don’t know if I want you alone right now,’’ he mutters quietly.
"Alright,’’ I agree imdiately because I need to listen to him more. I need to trust his instincts and if he doesn’t want
alone, then I will do what he wants.
He grabs his phone from his pocket and I watch him dial a number--presumably Rex. He speaks softly into the phone for a long ti before he walks back to . He sits next to
