Chapter 17: Chapter 17 Jiang Mo

Zhou Wang first noticed a fragrance.

Actually, from a scientific perspective, there’s no such thing as a woman’s natural scent, like “pure maiden fragrance”; if you do sll it, it’s just a psychological effect.

But every woman does indeed have her own unique scent, a fragrance ford from a mix of perfu, skincare products, makeup, body wash, shampoo, and more.

These scents can differ.

So can sll quite sophisticated, while others may seem overpowering.

If you dig deeper, it actually symbolizes a woman’s taste; how to blend a unique scent is an art.

From this perspective, calling it a “natural scent” isn’t unreasonable, because everyone is different!

The woman’s fragrance in front of him was a subtle pine aroma mixed with a hint of sothing like red wine, and it was quite pleasant.

If Su Yajing’s scent was like a bright bloom of flowers, then this woman was like a cedar hidden in a valley. Just the scent alone gave a sense of distant allure, yet made one want to explore its depths.

Zhou Wang slightly raised his head and saw the woman’s face.

At that mont, despite so ntal preparation, a hint of amazent flashed in Zhou Wang’s eyes.

It turned out that not only did her scent seem sophisticated, but her face was also very refined.

In her twenties, her makeup was light yet ticulous, with standard features that exuded a sense of aloofness. Her hair was styled in a way that amplified her icy deanor.

“Is it her?”

Upon seeing the white blouse and black skirt, Zhou Wang realized she was the girl who stood on the steps earlier.

It turned out she wasn’t the younger sister but the older one!

Her stunning appearance could easily score a ninety, no wonder she drew so many glances…

However, wasn’t this way of intersecting lives too much like a drama scene?

While Zhou Wang internally mocked, the woman retracted her hand, frowned, and asked, “Did you do that on purpose?”

It took Zhou Wang a mont to realize what she ant. He smiled faintly, “Didn’t you take advantage of first?”

“You…”

The woman was taken aback but soon regained her composure, “Could you please move your hand?”

“Sure.”

Zhou Wang indeed withdrew his hand, taking the book with him.

“This is the book I’m looking for.”

“But I grabbed it first.”

Zhou Wang raised his hand, considering it was a library, he didn’t engage further but turned to leave.

However, the woman closely followed, speaking softly, “Do you know that your tactics are rather low-level?”

Zhou Wang glanced at her in surprise. Did this woman think he was trying to hit on her?

Well, just judging by looks, she did have reason to misunderstand, but Zhou Wang still couldn’t help but let out a sarcastic laugh.

Even though Zhou Wang said nothing, the woman beca angrier and continued coldly, “Isn’t it?”

“Think what you want.”

Zhou Wang felt his ti was precious; every minute spent reading was laying a brick for his luxury ho. He had no intention of bickering with this woman.

And just like that, the available seats in the reading room were dwindling. He quickened his pace and finally found an empty table at the back of the room.

After sitting down, Zhou Wang opened the book and his notebook, just about to start reading when the woman pulled out a chair directly opposite him and sat down.

“Is this never-ending?”

Zhou Wang couldn’t help but frown. He had plenty of books to choose from, and if she spoke nicely, he wasn’t unwilling to give up this one.

But her presumptuous attitude made him uncomfortable; so what if she was beautiful?

With his new system, Zhou Wang hadn’t entirely changed his old mindset but didn’t feel he needed to accommodate anyone now.

“I need to research so important materials. This book was borrowed a few days ago. I just managed to get it today.”

The woman paused and then spoke.

Seeing the woman no longer in an aggressive tone, Zhou Wang relaxed his expression a bit.

Judging from her words, this “Cave Mystery” wasn’t always available. Zhou Wang, who initially intended to give her the book, changed his mind.

“Tell you what, if it’s not too urgent, wait a bit. I’ll have a look first and then decide.”

The woman frowned but said nothing, just placed her files and a black YSL shoulder bag on the table.

Zhou Wang noticed the na tag on the folder.

Jiang Mo…

So that was her na?

Seeing her acquiesce, Zhou Wang put down “Wealth of Nations” and picked up “Cave Mystery.”

His idea was simple, to first gauge the difficulty of reading this book. It was only worth twenty points, and if it took too long, it wouldn’t be worth it.

However, when Zhou Wang flipped open the book’s title page, a strange sensation spread through him.

Although the reading room was quiet, there were still various slight noises like the rustling of noses, footsteps, and hushed conversations.

But the mont Zhou Wang opened the book, all noises vanished.

Unintentionally, he found himself imrsed in the book, and astonishingly, as his eyes moved, the strings of words seed to co alive. He could easily understand the aning without much thought.

This state of feeling like an academic prodigy overwheld him, and Zhou Wang realized why the system tasked him with coming to the Provincial Library.

It was because reading here granted him a buff.

Shush!

In less than a minute, Zhou Wang skipped the preface and began reading the main text.

After a few more seconds, Zhou Wang turned to the second page.

His reading speed was even more exaggerated than when he read online literature, yet he grasped the essence of each paragraph. His mind was expanding, continuously absorbing knowledge, and generating new questions.

Gradually, Zhou Wang forgot everything around him, completely lost in the joy of acquiring knowledge.

His page-turning speed increased, and when he finally closed the book with satisfaction, he looked up to see a sowhat dazed face.

Jiang Mo’s delicate features no longer seed so aloof but revealed an endearing daze due to her absent-mindedness.

Zhou Wang checked his watch… what?

Only a little over an hour had passed.

This efficiency was terrifying.

“I’m finished, you can have it.”

Zhou Wang stretched, pushing the book over.

“You…”

Jiang Mo finally snapped out of it, though her eyes still held traces of amazent.

Just what had she witnessed?
