The joy in Cecilia’s heart had no bounds once she saw her sweet grandmother. The tears were already brimming in her eyes.

Cecilia jumped into her hands and broke into tears as they had a heartfelt reunion. "I thought I would never see you again." Cecilia cried in the comfort of her Granny’s hand who was rubbing her back.

Camilla, who stood not too far away, was frozen in a spot, unable to move. How cruel was fate?

The cries of Cecilia and her grandmother faded in her ears; all that mattered at the mont was that man.

Her eyes caught sight of his tall figure, and his ash blonde hair was dishevelled. He looked tired but it didn’t reduce his charm. The sa charms she fell for

Her green scarf, with soft petals embroidery, was in his hand. Richard looked confused; he was turning around, trying to find the owner. The scarf had flown directly onto his face

The beautiful green colour reminded him of her eyes. His hands clenched at the faint familiar scent. It could not be her, he thought.

Camilla could have run if she wanted to, but her feet refused to move. It was as if she wanted to confirm if it was truly him. The entire he didn’t glance her way until fate toyed with her, his eyes moved.

It darted around her, his brain didn’t process the fact at first. He then jolted to look back. Richard went pale like he saw a ghost. He did not want to believe, it was too good to be true to see those sa green eyes.

"Camilla," he called out. She didn’t reply. Was he seeing her ghost? He asked himself. But soone passed by and she started running. Then it dawned on him, it was truly his wife.

She turned around and got on her heels to run. Her hand clutched her chest as she cried. Cecilia was surprised to see Camilla run past her, followed by a man.

"What is going on?" Cecilia asked her equally confused grandmother

Camilla could not outrun his long legs. He effortlessly caught up to her. His arms wrapped her waist from behind, and she was enveloped by that warmth she didn’t want to miss, but she missed.

She broke down in his arms. What was it all worth if she had to go back to that marriage? Her tears kept on pouring, rembering all she suffered, all the ti she had to fake a moan to please Jake’s ego, all to survive.

"Let go," she begged but his hold only tightened. He wasn’t listening. Why wasn’t he listening? Why was he still holding on?

"Richard, please let go of . You don’t need a cursed woman in your life. I was a slave and had lost my last dignity. You have everything you always wanted: a wife and children. Just let go of the one that has to go." She begged him.

Richard’s shoulders stiffened. His hold wasn’t released. "What do you an by I have everything when you are not there?" He asked her. She turned around to face . He was crying.

She was dumbfounded..why was he crying? "Richard please..." Her voice shook.

He drew in a breath, trying to get himself to relax, but how could he when he finally found her, and all she wanted to do was leave?

The night she disappeared, he panicked and his entire attention was on the twins. He has neglected her and it was his biggest mistake.

The boys pulled through the night but she wasn’t there. She left without a word. At first, he thought she went to her parents, but after days of searching, there was no sign of her. Richard was a very rich rchant; he used his every ans to set up multiple bounties, but days turned into weeks, weeks into months, and there was no sign of her.

No one saw it but he was slowly losing himself. Trips after trips in the na of business, but secretly he wished maybe he might find her.

Caroline said he should give up on his foolishness and focus on his family that Camilla was long dead. It seed true but he didn’t want to accept it.

It got to a point he could not bear to look at his children, knowing his mistake caused this. "I am sorry," Richard said slowly, getting on his knees. He didn’t let go, scared that if he did, she would bolt away.

"Stop this, what are you doing?" Camilla shook her head confused.

"I am begging Camilla, I can’t let go of you. If you want to run, then let’s run together sowhere only we know." She almost gave in but she held her resolve. She just couldn’t.

"You can’t leave them. How about the boys and Caroline?" She asked, scared of what he might say next.

Richard bowed his head. "Please don’t make choose between you." He said and her heart squeezed. Of course, he would choose them

"You don’t have to choose, just go to them." She persuaded them. Her answer made him feel more guilty. He knew Camilla always cared about the boys. He was a horrible husband, he brought another woman into their marriage without her opinion. He cheated, and yet she took and loved the boys as her own.

They humiliated her, but he didn’t fight, he was scared of losing the boys. The children he never thought he would get, but when he lost her, it struck him. Was it worth it?

"Please don’t make choose because my selfishness will make choose you instead of the children I brought to the world. " The world went silent and Camilla went hysterical.

She fought, trying to break his hold. How could he say that to her? Cecilia intervened, rushing to the scene.

"Please let go of her, she doesn’t want to be with you." The girl naively said. Richard didn’t even glance at her.

"Please, this is a matter between my wife and ." He said leaving Cecilia stunned.

"I thought her husband was dead," she gasped, puzzled.

"Why are you doing this to ? I left for your happiness. Why." Her tears fell on him.

"How can I be happy when my heart is away. Without you, I don’t know what that word ans. I missed you. Please just give another chance."
