A ntal breakdown later, this was the second our dear villainess has suffered from. After bottling up and holding too much on your chest a ti cos when it feels suffocating.

Cedric had reported to the palace to make an official report of his travels. Despite having no interest in seeing him Abrielle wanted answers from him. He arrived earlier than expected.

Without a doubt, whatever ans he has used was not convenient for Abrielle’s parents to travel and not forget the whereabouts of that annoying Princess Sapphire. However, she had to wait as Cedric wasn’t in that castle that night. She wondered if he knew of her dramatic breakdown.

Cedric had dinner in the palace, with the king. It was rather pleasant for a family that had a blade against each other’s neck. Kaiden didn’t ntion the assassination attempt or anything related.

It was obvious the king didn’t want to talk about the incident. Cedric decided to see the physician who treated Abrielle. Getting to the physician’s quarters he walked into so he wasn’t ready to see.

From a distance, he could hear their conversation. Alfonso seed rather concerned about a particular patient and was inquiring about her treatnt.

Cedric would normally ignore anything that wasn’t related to Him since, by nature, he was not a nosy person, but this scenario was an exemption.

The patient in question was his wife, just when he was about to push everything aside. He finds the man rumoured to be close to Abrielle inquiring about her condition.

"I thought a patient’s confidentiality was important, and if information is to be shared, it should be to a close family mber." Cedric chid from behind Alfonso. They didn’t sense him coming and his voice made Alfonso jolt

The doctor panicked to see Cedric suddenly show up unannounced. "Your Highness. I didn’t hear you coming." He gasped. Cedric was aware another Physician was taking care of Abrielle but he wanted information only this physician could offer because the aged man was the one that attended to Abrielle on the night of the incident.

"I get that a lot." Cedric shrugged, ignoring the physician’s reaction. "I hear you were the one that treated Abrielle that unfortunate night." He ntioned. His sharp gold eyes watched the doctor keenly.

"Yes, I was, but she was moved under another skilled hand." The physician answered. Cedric was doing his best to ignore Alfonso’s existence but so people didn’t know when to take a hint.

Alfonso was naturally daring and fearless and did what he was best at by not shutting his mouth. "You did rush back ho dear brother." He comnted, his voice was particularly annoying to Cedric’s ears.

Cedric still ignored his existence; at tis, it was best to ignore your problems. Cedric had this ntality knowing how bad the urge to spill blood soars in his veins

"I would love to have a detailed report of everything that happened that night." He requested. The physician nodded at him and then kindly suggested, unaware of the tension that grew between the princes.

"I will get right to it imdiately, although I feel Prince Alfonso has more information on the night. He was the one who rushed the unconscious princess to care, drawing my attention." The physician suggested. It was ant to sound like, please be grateful to your brother. He was the one who rescued your wife when she was in danger, but to Cedric, it sounded like sothing entirely different.

What he heard was that Alfonso was lurking around your wife the entire event and was close enough to save her at the right ti. He was getting blinded by his twisted thoughts and emotions.

"I appreciate the suggestion," he answered with a faint smile on his face that didn’t reach his eyes.

"Give a few minutes to organize the reports." The physician bowed, taking his leave. He was way older than these youngsters, but before them, he seed so little.

The physician left their intimidating presence; he released a breath of relief, glad he had the chance to leave. The air surrounding those two was heavy to take into his lungs.

Cedric watched the physician flee away as his life depended on it. His eyes were still watching the older man while he spoke in a very calm tone.

"I don’t care to know what gas you are playing but it has to stop." He said Alfonso understood him perfectly. A teasing smile graced Alfonso’s lips sparkling in his eyes.

He was still as fearless as he was. From when they were little Alfonso had always been the only one among the children that brazenly approached the first prince described as a monster.

His existence where completely accursed that even his mother died at his birth. Rumours that surrounded Cedric were all thanks to Eleanor. While Cedric and Lucian always considered each other rivals, Alfonso was the son that everyone overlooked.

He wasn’t any inferior to any of his brothers but was more on the intellectual side. Although he knew Cedric’s strength was terrifying, he was aware a long ti ago the whispers were all rumours spread by the queen. Cedric was not as terrifying as he was rumoured to be.

"What gas am I playing?" He chid. Cedric’s cold eyes finally drew to his youngest brother. "You know what I an. Stay away from Abrielle, I don’t like repeating myself. She isn’t a pawn in your gas." Cedric explained clearly.

Alfonso scoffed; he was infuriated; yes, Cedric was Abrielle’s husband, but what right did he have to act this way when he was the one who hurt her more than everyone? "She was never a pawn Cedric. It is not my fault I was there when you weren’t."

"What do you honestly want from a married woman? Abrielle doesn’t have any information worth taking down neither is she my weakness. I see no reason why you keep on pestering her in my absence." Cedric said as a matter of fact.

"Maybe I am interested in her, maybe not. She might not be your weakness but she is still an important tool. I see nothing stopping Cedric. You don’t care about her in the first place. What is the need for putting up this act? Abrielle isn’t Callista." Alfonso challenged Cedric not backing down.
