【#FantasyLeague2024】 Leviathan Team eting! First Live Introduction Stream! 【Hanabane Rui and 6 others】

After all that’s happened, I’d say the Leviathan team mbers are quite close now.

And so, the first team eting day arrived.

“Oh, Laura, you’re here?”

As I entered the designated My Room, Valbara greeted .

In the voice channel were , Sora, Rui, and Valbara. Rui seed busy, possibly setting up the broadcast.

“Did you two co together? Are you actually dating?”

“Oh, no!” Sora replied hastily.

“She was just feeling nervous, so I ca with her,” I said.

Although Sora gets along with everyone, she still feels intimidated around the big seniors.

Both Rui and Valbara have been active since 2018. The oldest VTubers at EYEAI, like Rinko and Ichika, only started in 2021, making these two literal pioneers from the early days of VTubing.

“No need to be so tense, Sora! Relax, relax!”

“Y-yes!”

“Just talk casually and call us by our nas. Don’t worry about little things! Wahaha!”

Valbara laughed heartily, though I wasn’t sure what was so funny.

Having collaborated with him before, I’d found him to be a generous guy. During the last stream, he even donated 20,000 yen, calling it “the manly thing to do.”

“I’ll do my best,” Sora said, looking a bit overwheld. It might take her a while to adjust.

Soon, the broadcast was about to start, and all the Leviathan mbers gathered.

“Nice to et you all,” said our team’s owner, Gaho, in his usual deadpan tone.

His avatar looked just as unkempt as always, with bleary eyes and a scruffy appearance. I wondered if his VR avatar was based on his real-life self.

“I’m Choi Gaho of Steel Genesis. Sorry for the abruptness, but I’ll start with the team’s managent plan and strategies since we need to hop into scrims later.”

It seed he was pressed for ti.

“Let’s all enjoy this. Gas are ultimately for fun, and I believe creating a good team atmosphere is the most important thing, which is why I chose this group.”

Gaho looked between and Rui.

He gave a slight nod, motioning for us to step forward, so we did.

“Since I prioritized team dynamics, so roles overlap. Specifically, Hanabane Rui and Aurora both primarily play as escape units.”

Now that he ntioned it, he was right.

I’ve played other positions before, but my main experience is with escape units. Rui, too, played escape units. I recalled the ti when Rui’s escape unit nearly wiped out our entire team in a viewer collab event with Anna.

It was clear we had overlapping roles.

“This is the tentative position setup. It’s more of a tactical suggestion than a strict rule. Feel free to swap positions or try alternative setups if needed.”

Positions:

Aurora (Tier 1): Escape Unit

Kaga ro (Tier 5): Tank

Valbara Rian (Tier 3): Frontline Dealer

Inui Kirin (Tier 4): Nuker

Hanabane Rui (Tier 2): Sustained Damage Dealer

Ayano Koji Sora (Tier 6): Support

“Hmm.”

The assignnts were standard—frontline dealers in high tiers, with other roles spread among lower tiers. The only minor concern was the low-tier tank, but we could always swap positions if needed.

Gaho’s tone was intriguing. It sounded considerate, almost as if he was respecting our preferences rather than simply managing us.

“There’s one more thing. Our strategy is to develop Sora and ro.”

“M-?” Sora looked surprised as Gaho called her na.

I stopped running for a mont.

I’d suddenly felt an odd sense of foreboding.

When playing the Dark Knight escape unit, footsteps are a basic tool since the Dark Knight has poor detection abilities and relies on movent to scout for enemies.

Normally, I wouldn’t bother silencing my steps; if the enemy could hear and co, that was great.

But sothing told that approach wouldn’t work here.

“Hm…”

I tilted my head, cautiously moving forward.

When instincts and logic diverge, I usually trust my instincts. It ant there was an unexplained sense of danger.

As I slipped behind a bush for cover, I heard buzzing from up ahead.

“, perhaps?”

Insect noises.

Raising my sword, I used its reflective surface to check my surroundings without exposing myself.

Through the blade’s reflection, I saw a swarm of flies moving in a cluster.

I waited until they passed, then moved forward silently.

Ahead, a person ca into view.

Crack! Crunch! Snap!

Their appearance was unsettling.

Androgynous, with striking features, yet their torso was disturbingly hollow, with a gaping hole in their abdon.

If they were a zombie, intestines might have spilled out. Instead, sothing else erged.

A massive centipede.

Thicker than a person’s arm, it wriggled out of the person’s stomach, devouring neutral mobs around it.

-Ew -Bug Mage is so gross lol -Wow, didn’t know there were Bug Mage players -Strong character, but awful controls -Good stats, but no one uses it because of the design lol

The Bug Mage.

A character that fights by controlling insects.

In my opinion, it’s the most versatile character in Labyrinthos.

‘The opponent’s skill level will be crucial.’

The Bug Mage’s weakness is its susceptibility to fire, making fla-based characters its hard counter.

Barring that, it has solid stats all around.

Decent damage, crowd control, mobility, defense, lee capability, ranged control skills, sustained damage—not lacking in any area, though its burst damage is limited. Instead, it excels in group combat alongside its insect swarm.

A versatile character that requires skill to pilot effectively.

I lunged at the Bug Mage’s blind spot.

-Splat!

As I leaped and swung, the Bug Mage’s shoulder tore open first.

From the tear erged a spider’s front leg, several ters long, ripping through its skin and swinging toward .

I’d tried to surprise them, but it seed they reacted first.

It wasn’t a ranked match but a normal ga, yet the matchmaking likely paired with a skilled player based on MMR. Their response was impressive.

I dodged the spider leg and backed away.

The Bug Mage spun toward , swinging its arm wide.

Once again, its skin split, and this ti, a centipede shot out from its palm.

-Slash!

I sliced off the centipede’s head as it lunged.

The Bug Mage has a unique skill set. Unlike other characters with a single ultimate skill, it has four general skills with no ultimate.

, , , .

-Bzzzzz

The buzzing grew louder as a swarm of flies approached from a distance.

It seed the Bug Mage intended to use the flies to corral . To prevent my escape, it extended the spider leg.

-Whoosh!

The massive spider leg, spanning several ters, quickly closed in on my position.

However, it was a thrusting attack, faster than a swing but with a more predictable trajectory, allowing to dodge.

With a clear path, I closed the distance.

‘Left: flies, Right: centipede.’

I carefully tracked the approaching insects as I moved in.

In a match between Dark Knight and Bug Mage, Bug Mage has the slight advantage, similar to battling a Necromancer who overwhelms with minions. The Bug Mage relies on its insects.

But bugs are susceptible to the Dark Knight’s passive skill, .

Though I wore no armor today, the enemy’s damage wouldn’t be lethal in one strike.

-Flash!

The flies clung to my skin, biting , while the centipede latched onto my shoulder.

Ignoring the pain, I lunged, sinking my sword into the Bug Mage’s body.

“Urgh?!”

It seed they hadn’t expected to go this far. Their eyes widened in surprise.

The Bug Mage is versatile. But in PvP gas like AOS, well-rounded characters don’t necessarily have high tiers.

While the Bug Mage has decent damage, it doesn’t match the burst of the Arcane Engineer.

Its lee capabilities are solid, but it lacks the killing power of the Dual Swordsman. Though mobile, it’s slower than the Assassin, and its defense is softer compared to the Heavy Warrior.

In other words, the Bug Mage has versatility but lacks any overwhelming strengths.

So, focusing on my unique advantage—the Dark Knight’s chaotic combat style—was the way to tilt the scales.

With debuffs to weaken their attack and movent, I used and to trap and corner the Bug Mage, striking repeatedly.

Avoiding their main skill, , I forced them into a grueling battle of attrition, exposing their weaknesses.

It beca a battle of skill, patience, and experience.

It was clear the Bug Mage hadn’t encountered many Dark Knights. But I’d mastered the art of attrition.

Trading blows and whittling each other down, my experience overturned our matchup disadvantage.

Thus, it was only natural that my sword found its mark at their neck.

-Squelch!

[Your Dark Knight has defeated the enemy Bug Mage.]

“Aurora here. I’ve taken down the enemy escape unit.”

[Oh! Nice~!] [Laura, you’re killing it!]

“How are things on your end?”

[Uh, over here, well…]

[Enemy Mage has defeated allied Cavalry.]

[Enemy Dual Swordsman has defeated allied Puppeteer.]

[Enemy Beast Tar has defeated allied Battle Priest.]

[Enemy Dual Swordsman has defeated allied Spearman.]

[Enemy Beast Tar has defeated allied Pyromancer.]

[It’s not looking good!]

Valbara’s cheerful voice filled the chat.

Though I fought hard, we ultimately lost as the enemies defeated the boss.

The road ahead is tough.
