Chapter 78: The King’s order-2

Half an Hour Ago

Izaak was leaning against the recliner when his close confidant, Connor, inford him how Shadow Blue Pack decided to bring back Venus to the pack on Eugene’s lead past midnight.

Izaak opened his eyes and he sat up straight. "Eugene indeed has a death wish," he murmured and stood up. "Are they heading to the Wilson house at this hour?" he asked.

"Yes, Your Highness," Connor confird. "May I inquire why we are involving ourselves with the werewolves now, Your Highness? Forgive my curiosity, as I’ve never been tasked with monitoring them before," he explained, casting his gaze downward.

"This ti it’s for soone special," Izaak asserted.

Connor glanced up, briefly wondering if Izaak had developed feelings for soone, perhaps Venus. However, he quickly pushed aside such thoughts and asked Izaak for his next command.

"You needn’t concern yourself, Connor. I’ll handle this matter with my brother. You should retire for the night," Izaak instructed, dismissing him. Connor bowed and exited the chamber without further inquiry.

"It’s a nuisance to ddle with both humans and werewolves," Izaak grumbled as he ascended the stairs to Magnus and Alora’s chamber.

Stopping outside the door, he instructed the guard to fetch Magnus. "It’s urgent," Izaak emphasized to the guard, who promptly entered the chamber.

After a few minutes, the guard requested Izaak to go in as Magnus was waiting for him. Izaak entered the chamber’s seating area and saw Magnus was in his night clothes. "I think I disturbed your peaceful sleep, Magnus," he comnted.

"You did. What’s the matter, Brother?" Magnus inquired as he put his one leg above the other.

"Eugene is on his way to bring Venus back. On the blood moon he knows he will be powerful just like us old vampires," Izaak inford him.

"Who told you this?" Magnus questioned him. "That bastard really needs a good lesson this ti," he muttered as his jaw clenched.

"Connor. I asked him to be around the place where Eugene and his family live," Izaak answered.

"When did Brother Izaak beco so thoughtful of the others?" Magnus chuckled as he rose to his feet. He needed to change into formal clothes. "I thought you were least interested in matters like these," he added.

"I don’t wish to see your wife whining in the morning," Izaak remarked.

"You’re showing true friendship towards her. It’s quite remarkable to see such a change in my brother," Magnus remarked, a faint smile gracing his lips.

"Alora is unlike any other friend I have. That’s why I’m willing to go to such lengths for her," Izaak replied. Magnus nodded understandingly and asked for a mont to prepare. Ten minutes later, he returned dressed formally, and together they made their way to the Wilson Family Residence.

Present Ti:

Magnus hoisted Eugene into the air, his grip unyielding. "The blood moon casts a magnificent sight, doesn’t it? I advised you not to toy with , Eugene. Lately, I’ve developed quite the appetite for blood," Magnus declared, his gaze filled with intimidation.

Eugene struggled, kicking his legs in a futile attempt to break free from Magnus’s hold. He had underestimated the power of an old vampire on the night of the Blood Moon.

Venus witnessed that entire scene through the window of her room and finally, her tears stopped. Her grandmother caressed her back, trying to calm her down. "Eugene won’t let

leave. Alora should have burned him," Venus mumbled.

Izaak placed his hand on Magnus’s shoulders, asking him to let go of Eugene. The next mont, Eugene landed on the ground and he coughed badly while catching his breath. The mbers of his werewolf pack had retreated, fearing Magnus more than they feared the King himself. Magnus’s reputation for delivering lethal punishnt was well-known among them.

Eugene lay on the ground like a worm, his body trembling with fear. Though his wolf urged him to growl and retaliate against Magnus, he was too terrified to even muster the courage for that.

Magnus delivered a powerful kick to Eugene’s stomach, sending him flying several ters across the lawn, the force of the impact causing the soil to churn beneath him.

Eugene’s Beta, Kaiden, reverted to his human form and implored Magnus to cease his assault. "The King has issued orders for Venus’s return, following werewolf protocol," he explained to the two princes.

Izaak’s gaze shifted to Gabriel, who held the royal edict in his hands. He took it from Gabriel and read it quickly.

"Magnus, you need to stop. Father has sent an order. Venus isn’t fully released from the pack," Izaak approached Magnus as he showed him the royal edict.

Eugene chuckled as he rose from the ground. "Looks like we’re in for a brawl since the vampires are sticking their noses in werewolf affairs," he remarked.

"This is my wife’s ho. You can cause trouble elsewhere, but not here, Eugene. Your threats hold no sway over . Do not push

to kill you imdiately. Depart before I remove your heart from your chest," Magnus warned, disregarding his father’s decree because he understood the underlying motives. He intended to address his father’s actions later, but for now, he needed to send away this bunch of werewolves.

Magnus’ anger used to heighten on the blood moon night and Eugene was triggering it. He wanted to end it nicely because he himself had no idea what he would do once his blood lust awakened.

Izaak felt like having a headache. Magnus had escalated the matter. He made a foolish mistake by letting Magnus get involved in this.

"Prince Magnus is going against the King’s order. Do you wish to go into a long sleep, Prince Magnus, as a punishnt!?" Eugene slowly strode to him as he was hell-bent on taking Venus with him.

"Do you think I’ll fall asleep easily?" Magnus smirked. "I may put you into a deep sleep before that," he said as his jaw clenched.
