Chapter 77: The King’s Order-1

"Why did Prince Magnus send us in the service of a human?" Odin complained.

"Because it is about Princess Alora’s sister’s safety," Gabriel stated as he sat on the roof of the house along with Odin. He looked at the giant blood moon while rembering the last ti when it occurred.

"I thought Princess Alora’s family didn’t care for her. It’s strange that she’s still helping them," Odin remarked, shooting a questioning glance at Gabriel, who appeared lost in thought.

"What are you thinking about?" Odin inquired, drawing Gabriel’s attention back to the present.

"This ti, Prince Magnus didn’t go on late-night hunting," Gabriel observed, furrowing his brow in contemplation. "I rember four years ago, he slaughtered over a hundred humans. Don’t you find that strange?" he voiced his doubts aloud.

"Yes, I noticed that too. I inquired with Prince Izaak about it," Odin elaborated.

"And?" Gabriel prompted, intrigued by the matter.

"According to Prince Izaak, it’s because of Princess Alora," Odin revealed, his voice tinged with uncertainty.

"How so?" Gabriel pressed for further explanation.

"I believe Princess Alora’s eyes have sothing to do with it. Prince Izaak didn’t provide much detail," Odin replied, the distant growls of werewolves echoing in the atmosphere.

"Hmm," Gabriel acknowledged the answer.

Both of their gazes shifted simultaneously as they sensed the presence of a werewolf nearby the residence.

"I’ll go check," Odin volunteered, but Gabriel suggested they go together.

As they leaped down from the roof to reach the large balcony of the third floor, they utilized their supernatural strength to descend further.

"It appears the werewolves are interested in Miss Venus," Odin remarked.

"Her husband is a werewolf, that’s why," Gabriel replied knowingly. They both were present at the front of the house, trying to find out where the werewolf disappeared. "I can feel the presence of several werewolves," he murmured, casting a aningful glance at Odin. Their attention was drawn to the imposing gate of the house, which suddenly swung open.

As Gabriel took a cautious step forward, a massive werewolf sprang forth, hurtling through the gate with a nacing air. Its eyes glead an eerie blue, marking it as a beta. Behind it, a host of others followed suit, scaling the gate with primal agility, their forms blending into the night.

Then, with a swift motion, the alpha werewolf shed his lupine guise, revealing the countenance of a man. He glanced at both Gabriel and Odin, wondering what the vampires were doing there.

"Eugene Lacroix!" Gabriel’s voice carried a note of recognition. "Your presence here is forbidden. Depart now, unless you wish for Prince Magnus to decide your fate," he declared firmly.

With a dismissive gesture, Eugene produced a scroll from his pocket and flung it towards Gabriel. "Read it and then attempt to hinder ," he challenged.

Drawing closer, Odin joined Gabriel as they unrolled the parchnt, their eyes scanning its contents. It bore the unmistakable seal of the King himself. Eugene’s smile widened as he observed their reactions. "Defying this decree ans defying the King himself. Present this royal edict to Prince Magnus and Princess Alora," he instructed, his tone laced with confidence.

"We cannot go against the King’s order," said Odin. Gabriel humd and lowered his hands.

"Why have you chosen this late hour for your visit? It’s well past midnight. You could have easily waited until tomorrow," Odin pressed, his curiosity evident.

"I see no necessity in divulging my personal matters to you," Eugene countered, declining to disclose his motives for arriving at such an hour.

As the door of the residence swung open, Norman erged, accompanied by his wife, Rhea. Both were visibly taken aback at the sight of the werewolves assembled on the cobblestone pavent, with Eugene positioned prominently at the forefront.

"Ah, it seems you’re all awake already. Please, fetch Venus for ," Eugene requested, his tone strangely calm amidst the peculiar circumstances.

"I will not surrender my daughter to a beast like you. Tomorrow, you will be served with divorce papers by the family and marriage bureau," Norman declared firmly. Elliot, appearing from within the house, joined them, visibly shaken by the presence of the werewolves.

"Norman Wilson, do you not desire to live out your days in peace and comfort? I have co to reclaim my wife. What Alora orchestrated earlier today was a humiliation to . Though I may have rejected Venus, she remains part of the pack, and her fate will be determined by us," Eugene asserted, his voice carrying a hint of authority and resolve.

Norman and the others remained perplexed by Eugene’s cryptic words, unaware of the intricacies of werewolf customs. Rhea, sensing their confusion, turned to Gabriel and Odin, silently imploring their assistance.

"Lady Rhea, forgive us," Odin spoke solemnly. "We are bound by the decree of the King."

"I cannot allow my daughter to be taken by him," Rhea expressed with anguish, tears welling in her eyes. "Eugene deceived us into believing his family was like ours, but now..." Her voice trailed off, laden with disappointnt and betrayal.

"Mother-in-law, do not worry. I am not going to kill your daughter after what she did to . If you don’t bring Venus here, I will go inside," Eugene declared.

"Over my dead body. I will let you take away my daughter," Rhea stated as she stepped forward.

"Well, it seems you’ve left

with no other choice Mother-in-law," Eugene remarked with a disappointed glance before taking determined strides forward, poised to enter the mansion. However, his advance was halted by a chilling voice that sliced through the tension.

"Eugene, I warned you not to anger . You should have thought better than to set foot in my wife’s ancestral ho," Magnus’s voice thundered, carrying an undeniable authority.

The lined werewolves parted to make way for Magnus and Izaak, who stood apart from the others. Eugene turned to face them just as Magnus appeared before him in an instant, seizing him by the throat and lifting him into the air with a nacing grip.
