The next day, so ti after the first al.

"Your arm is healed, princess." Jean announced with a bright smile. "Well, outwardly."

Mauve nodded, all of the tiny scabs had fallen off and the red scars looked back at her. The three lines were easier to look at now that they were completely healed.

Mauve is sitting on her bed while the physician sits across her on a chair that Mill had moved to that position.

The physician was leaning forward as he stared at Mauve's arm while Mill stood about two feet away, holding the light to the scars.

The window was opened and so moonlight streaked into the room, highlighting the wooden boards and so of the items on the bedside table.

Jean pulled away from Mauve and stretched out his hand to pick up his bag that laid on the table. He couldn't reach and Mill had to lift it for him.

"Thank you," he mumbled as he rustled in his bag and brought out a container.

Opening it, he applied it over the lines. "This should help with the scarring."

Mauve closed her eyes briefly as the substance touched her. She opened her eyes back, surprised that she didn't feel anything. It just felt like he rubbed so lotion on her.

"It doesn't sting," she said.

He chuckled, "Were you expecting it to?"

"Yes, most of the substances you apply often do. The last one felt like it was going to but seconds later it started to burn."

"This would sting if you had an open wound but you don't since it healed so, you don't have to worry about that."

Mauve nodded, it did sll weird but not in a disgusting way. It didn't feel uncomfortable against her skin either which was a good thing.

"Here," he closed it and handed it to Mill.

She accepted it and stared weirdly at the flat oval shaped tal container. She looked to Jean as though she expected so kind of added information.

"Please apply it, night and day for a week. After that just once a day should be fine. Make sure you use it until all the content is finished. Also, after the first week, massage it into her skin when applying."

Mill returned her gaze to the flat can and nodded her head. "Is there anything else?"

Jean shook his head, "My work is done here. There isn't anything you would need to do that Mill can't help you with."

"Oh," Mauve said as she unrolled her sleeve. "Does that an you're leaving?"

Jean's eyes darted around, "If I could leave it would be nice. There is really no reason for to stay here any longer." He mumbled.

"Well, you did say Mill should be able to handle the rest of it and I am sure you want to return ho. I guess keeping you here any longer will be unnecessary and cruel.

Jean nodded, "Would you inform the Vampire King that I would like to leave soonest?"

Mill squinted her eyes, "I don't think you should be in that much hurry, physician." She said darkly. "Her arm just healed."

"It is fine, Mill. My arm has healed exactly as he said it would. It feels better and I can use it without much pain. I don't mind asking Jael on your behalf." She said brightly.

Jean bowed and said, "Thank you so much, princess. I will take my leave now."

Jean picked up his bag and scrambled out of the room while Mill glared at him. He kept his gaze down until he was completely out of the room.

"Are you a simpleton?" Mill asked.

"What is that supposed to an?" Mauve asked with surprise on her face. She looked flushed.

"You don't have to ask His Grace on the physician's behalf. You didn't hire his services, it's not your place to sympathize with his plight and it is too early for him to leave. Your wounds just healed, he shouldn't be in a hurry to leave."

"I don't think it is a problem," she replied and rolled her arm to release so of the tension. "It has been over three weeks. Not only does he miss his family but he is in a very strange land. Also, I know he's terrified of Jael, I don't mind asking."

Mill squinted her eyes at Mauve, looking like she didn't believe Mauve's words but she wasn't going to argue.

"He didn't have to co all this way to help but he did and it will be unfair to keep him when he obviously wants to go back ho."

"He is not doing it out of the goodness of his heart."

"It doesn't matter," she smiled.

Mill sighed, "Whatever you wish, Mauve. However, I don't see Jael agreeing so easily. Good luck."

"Thank you for your concern, Mill." She slowly stood to her feet.

"Where do you think you are going?" Mill asked.

"To inform Jael of course." She replied and headed for the door.

"Right now?" Mill asked in horror.

"I don't see why not."

"Why not wait until after sunrise? It should be easier in the confines of your room. His Grace has been cooped up in his study for three days now. I am sure he is busy." Mill said.

Mauve paused slightly and looked at Mill. Jael did tell her she could co see him whenever she wanted and she avoided him because she didn't want to disturb.

"I will just see if he is indeed busy. I will leave." She said and skipped to the door.

Mill sighed and nodded as they both walked out the door.

To be honest, she didn't have to ask Jael now but there was nothing else for her to do. She already checked the garden, she preferred to tend to it just before she went to bed so they would be prepared for the sunrise.

She spent the entirety of the night before in the library, there was no way she would do that again. She liked books but at this point reading was all she did.

Also, she wanted to see Jael. They barely spent any ti together except after sunrise which usually included that which she refused to think about. By the ti they were done, she was sleepy.

However, she liked to think things were better between them and even though he was still grouchy, an and secretive she could tell cared about her.

It made her all warm inside and glad. It would be hurtful if she was the only one that cared about him.

She knocked loudly as they got to the front of Jael's study, hitting the door a little too hard.

"Mauve," cried a panicky Mill.

"I am sorry, I was distracted with my thoughts."

"Please, be careful." Mill looked anxious.

Mauve nodded, she wondered why she wasn't terrified of Jael. Well, she was but not always and usually she was more nervous than terrified.

There was also the fact that his mood swings were a lot to handle. She usually had to be careful with what she asked for because she wasn't sure which would piss him off.

The door flew open and Erick stood at the entrance glaring. "What do you want?"

Mauve could see the veins on his forehead. He was glaring at her with bloodshot eyes. His hair was out of place and his deathly pale face was startling.

"Shut up Erick and let her in," Jael ordered.

Erick moved out of the way and Mauve saw Jael by the desk. His eyes were glued to the piece of paper in front of him.

She couldn't really see his face as the window was directly behind him and the lamp on the table wasn't bright enough for anything. How could he work in this dark space?

"I apologize, Sire." Mill said. "I tried to warn her that you were busy but she refused to listen."

Mauve gasped as Mill threw her to the wolves. "I-I can co back another ti if this isn't a good ti."

Jael dropped the letter and looked directly at her. Even though it was dark and there was quite the distance between them, Mauve knew the mont his eyes rested on her.

"Just co in. You are already here."

Mauve nodded and walked in while Mill stood by the door. As soon as she was a reasonable distance from the door Erick closed it, shutting Mill out.

"Co here," Jael said and she walked to him.

She went round the table and he pulled her into his lap. She squealed.

"What is the matter?" He asked as he peered at her face.

"Are you sure this is a good ti? I was going to co back later."

"Mauve," he called sternly.

"The physician said my arm is healed." She started.

"Is that so?" He raised a brow.

Mauve nodded, it was hard to see his expression with the dim light.

"That's good. Is that all?"

"No, he would like to go back ho so, I…" The rest of Mauve 's words drowned out as the temperature in the room dropped.
