"Now Mill," he said when she was carefully seated. "Do tell what you and Danag were talking about. Depending on what I hear, I might be forgiving."

Mill cleared her throat as she opened her mouth to speak. For obvious reasons, it was really hard to talk. She took a deep breath and tried to recount the details as best as she could.

However, she wasn't sure if she should only respond to the questions she was being asked or if she should tell the King from the very beginning. She decided to go with just answering questions. She didn't want to piss His Grace any further by saying unnecessary things.

"He wanted to thank and let know you asked him to get a carriage ready in three days," Mill mumbled.

"Carriage?" Kieran asked.

"Yes," he replied.

"Oh, why?" Kieran looked absolutely confused as he stared from one vampire to another.

"Mauve wants to leave," his Grace said with a straight face. He did not look in Kieran's direction.

Kieran's face fell imdiately. He looked like this was the first ti he was hearing of this. "Oh," he replied and leaned back in his seat.

"Why did he thank you, Mill?" He asked with an overbearing look in his eyes.

Mill hated that she was on the receiving end of this. Why was she the one getting questioned when it was literally Danag's fault?

She closed her eyes and proceeded to explain the situation as best as she could. She left nothing out and as she spoke she couldn't tell if she was digging herself further into the grave she was as His Grace's expression neither changed nor wavered.

"Is that truly all?" He asked when she was done speaking.

She nodded stiffly, her fingers woven through each other as she waited for his verdict. Her head was low and her shoulders were hunched down.

"I see, you may leave."

Mill's face brightened imdiately and she looked up at the King. Was she going to get out of this unscathed and without any penalty?

"Of course not," His Grace said as he noticed her expression. "I would have all the information before I act accordingly."

Mill back imdiately straightened. She didn't know how to respond to this but she could feel the cold on her neck spread to the rest of her body.

"Thank you, Sire." Mill nodded and rose to her feet. She rushed to the door without a backward glance. She could wait to leave, the tension was a little hard to bear.

"And Mill," he called as soon as her hand touched the door.

She stopped abruptly and slowly turned her head to look in The King's direction. "Yes, Your Grace."

"I know I don't have to tell you but you know better than to keep anything else from ."

Mill imdiately let go of the door as she turned her entire fra to face him. She bowed as low as she could possibly go. "Yes, Sire. It won't happen again."

"It better not, Mill. It better not."

Mill gripped her dress, she could hear the anger in his voice, it scared her. She did not need anyone to tell her she was getting off with more than a scolding.

She raised her head and bowed again before she fled the room. The door closed and walked away from the door as fast as she could. As she walked away she hoped the consequences of this were sothing she would be able to endure.

It was the last al of the day. Mauve sat with her back to the bed's headboard as she waited for Mill to bring her share of the last al. She was literally counting down on her fingers, only a couple of days more and she would be out of here.

She looked at her injury, it looked dry. The scabs had not started to fall off but she could see cracks between them. Jean had said in a couple of days they would.

The three wound lines that stretched down looked pretty disgusting as she stared at them. It was sothing she didn't want to think about but there was no way she would be able to hide the scars. It would be visible for all to see.

She turned away from the wound. It was a miracle that she was still alive. She didn't know any human that had been that close to a paler and survived but she did it twice.

It was a terrible way to console herself but it was all she had. She had overco the worst part of it, now she would just take her ti and heal slowly.

The door opened and Mill walked in. Mauve brightened imdiately, she didn't want to give the vampire another thing to worry about, she already looked pretty disturbed.

She had asked on several occasions what was wrong but Mill refused to tell her. She could see Mill trying to hide it but it was obvious that she was extrely bothered.

Halfway through the Mill, a knock was heard. She and Mill exchanged glances. It was almost ti for Mauve's bed bath so they rarely had any visitors around this ti.

Mill slowly stood up from the chair and walked to the door, she opened it and gasped. "Sire," she blurted out and bowed.

"Jael?" Mauve said.

"Can I co in?" He asked with a raised brow when Mill didn't move from the door.

"Yes," she replied and quickly moved to let him through.

"Isn't the last al still ongoing?" Mauve asked with a frown. Not that she didn't want his presence here but it was starting to get worriso now that he has been in her room several tis already.

"I ate quickly," he said and sat on the bed.

"Oh, okay." Mauve nodded and looked away. Mill was clearly uncomfortable and the awkwardness was getting to her.

Mauve managed to finish the rest of the al without incident and Mill imdiately fled the room with the dishes. She would return with the bath water, Mauve knew this.

"You don't have to wait for , I'll join you as soon as I finish here."

"It's no problem, I can wait."
