Mill adjusted her dress one more ti. She was self-conscious and didn't want to have to attend the eting but Jael said she had to and so did Mack. She sighed and checked herself again, it has been a while since she wore anything proper.

She heard a knock on her door and the door was suddenly pushed open. Her forehead furrowed, "Haven't I told you to wait before you barge in?" She growled.

"If I am interrupting anything, there is a problem. Aren't you the one who said to never keep guests waiting? I have been standing out here for over ten minutes." Mack blurted out and adjusted his now.

"Whatever, how do I look?" She asked and did a little spin.

"Not bad," she smirked at her.

She glared at him, "Is that really all you have in your complint vocabulary? Not bad?"

"How do I look then?" He asked.

"Exquisite!" She muttered.

He blinked and nodded his head, "Not bad."

"Shut up, let's go."

"You are ready?" He asked.

"Yes," she said and walked past him. He imdiately followed past her. "Truth be told, I would rather not attend this especially since he would be attending."

"I and you both, Mack but it is the Sire's orders. Besides, he might not show up. It is already midnight, if he wanted to attend he would be here by now."

"How do you know he isn't here yet?" He asked.

Mill's eyes turned to slits. "The fact that you think I won't know the one who begat us is a bit insulting."

"I know, we will recognize him on sight. I am just anxious."

Mill turned around to look at her twin brother with a soft expression. "We will be fine. Just don't leave my side."

"You got it."

"And keep your mouth sealed. I don't want you causing any problems."

"What does that even an?" Mack glowered at his sister.

"Shush, let's go." She turned around and walked out of the servants' section toward the ballroom.

The ballroom was brightly lit, with a candle chandelier hanging from the ceiling and candles everywhere.

A few Lords were gathered around having conversations. Despite the rowdiness, there was a huge space of emptiness as most of the Lords clung to the corners.

Mill couldn't bla them, that's where all the chairs were and it was nicer to hide in the corner than the brightly lit middle. Mill felt all the hair on her skin rise as she walked closer, she could already tell this was a bad idea.

So of the Lords were seated while a few remained standing but Mill imdiately noticed that everyone held a cup of wine. She knew she would need at least two to be able to go through this.

She signaled to a servant who rushed towards them with a tray. Mill stretched out her hand to pick a cup, it felt weird to be the one getting attended to.

She was certain, she and her brother stood out like a sore thumb in this mix. She couldn't wait for all this to be over so she can go back to her regular duties and forget all about Lord's businesses.

"What are you lots doing here? Looking like sothing the cat dragged in." Mill heard a shrill voice behind her ears. She recognized it imdiately.

Mill imdiately grabbed her brother's hand. She could tell he was about to explode and that would only prove Lord Seraphino's point. She was glad when he relaxed imdiately.

She kept on drinking her wine as her brother fud behind her. She didn't want to be here either but here she was.

"Where is your master?" He asked, looking around. "The one who holds your chains."

Mill swore and gulped the entirety of her cup. "Lord Seraphino," she called. "Don't you have sothing better to do like attack defenseless humans? Your smile looks great by the way."

She smirked at him and then pulled her brother away as they both walked away from him. She found an empty chair and plopped onto it while her brother sat on the armrest.

"You know you can sit next to , right? There is more than enough space."

"This is much better," he mumbled and leaned forward.

From the corner of her eyes, Mill saw soone approaching them. She cursed, she assud they would be left alone.

"Who are you?" A chirpy voice said when she got within hearing range.

Mill frowned, the vampire looked to be around their age. Most older vampires knew them and even if they didn't they knew their story.

"It is rude to ask soone who they are without first introducing themselves."

Mill turned to look at her brother at his response, she couldn't help the smile that appeared on her cheeks.

"It isn't if I might be talking to servants dressed as Lords."

"Do you really think anyone who isn't supposed to be here would be here? Besides, unless there is sothing wrong with your radar, you should know we are not servants." Mill responded.

"I have never heard of twin vampires before." She blurted out. "Let alone Lords." She gave them a once-over.

"Really?" Mill said and crossed her legs. "You should ask more questions, we are pretty popular."

"I am Helana, Helana Garth." She said,

"We know who you are." Mill said, unsmiling.

"You just said you didn't."

"No, he said it is rude to ask who we are without first introducing yourself."

"Fine, what are your nas?" She muttered.

"It's not important…"

The front door flew open and Mack and Mill froze simultaneously. They rose to their feet as the vampire at the door walked in. Mill didn't need anyone to tell her that was her father.

He was younger than she had pictured and he wasn't alone, beside him was a female vampire and she could tell that was his mate. She sat back down and pulled her brother down.

"I am Mill, he is Mack."

"Your family na?" Helana asked.

"It doesn't matter," Mill mumbled.
