Chapter 1804: Chapter 1797: Rong Ning’s Sche

Rong Ning clutched his wound as he escaped into the back alley of Qilin Garden, but before he could step in, he was surrounded by a group of n in black.

Inside Qilin Garden, the light in Xiao Yu’s study was the only one lit. The doctor residing in his household was bandaging Rong Ning’s wound. Rong Ning’s internal injuries were severe, and the wound was deep. If not for Xiao Yu’s constant attention to his movents and having already arranged for soone to help him, he would have fallen into Chu Heng’s hands by now.

“Chu Heng is ruthless. As you have designed, falling into his hands will surely be a dead end.” Under the lamp, Xiao Yu gazed at his wounded body and spoke lightly.

At this point, if he didn’t know Rong Ning’s identity, then he wouldn’t be the astute and calculating master of the Xiao family.

Rong Ning’s handso face was pale, yet his expression was calm, “Thank you, Master Xie, for saving my life.”

What he wanted Xiao Yu to know, he already knew.

Xiao Yu personally brought him the brewed dicine, placed it before him, and asked calmly, “Now that it has co to this, with your identity as the Crown Prince of Beiling exposed, what do you plan to do?”

He did not show any unusual reaction in front of Rong Ning. It was this depth that made Rong Ning frown. He imdiately knelt in front of Xiao Yu, “I don’t want to die yet. I beg Father to save .”

He knocked his head heavily, and this act caused Xiao Yu’s breathing to beco sowhat unsteady.

Sitting in the wheelchair, he clenched and then released his hand, struggling several tis before bending down to support him.

Rong Ning was acting initially, but Xiao Yu’s voice sounded above his head, “Having lost you for so many years, I will do everything in my power to keep you safe.”

Rong Ning stood up, allowing Xiao Yu to gently stroke his ssy hair.

But it was very strange; clearly, he was using the identity of Xiao Yu’s son to act out this scene, seeking Xiao Yu’s financial support, but when Xiao Yu said this, his heart ached, as if soone was cruelly gripping it.

Rong Ning was arranged by Xiao Yu to rest in the main courtyard. When he awoke, sensing sothing amiss beside him, he imdiately opened his eyes and sat up from the bed, holding a short sword and looking warily at the person in front of him, “Who!?”

“It’s Mother!”

Su Miaoyan stood at the bedside with reddened eyes. Seeing Rong Ning holding the knife, a sour feeling surged in her heart, “Ningning, Mother wanted to see you last night, but your father… Brother Yu said you were injured and wouldn’t let Mother disturb you. But Mother couldn’t help wanting to see you!”

She spoke incoherently, clearly excited yet trying to restrain herself, her eyes red and swollen, probably not just from crying but also staying up all night.

Rong Ning put away his sword, got up, and cupped his hands in salute, “Greetings to Mother.”

“No need…no need to be so polite! Mother wants to kiss Ningning.”

Su Miaoyan stepped forward to hold Rong Ning’s hand, wanting to kiss his face, but he dodged away.

Rong Ning had a peculiar expression on his face.

In Beiling, his mother had never kissed him.

Seeing him avoid her, Su Miaoyan imdiately showed a trace of sadness in her eyes, “Won’t Ningning even let Mother give a kiss? How about letting Mother give a hug?”

As she spoke, she tried to hug Rong Ning again.

Rong Ning held her hand and pretended to cough, “Ahem, child is injured, better not dirty…Mother’s clothes.”

“How could it get dirty! If it does, just change into new ones!” Having lost her son for many years, Su Miaoyan at this mont just wanted to be close to him, yet he continuously resisted, showing no liking for her as a mother.

Su Miaoyan cried sadly.

Rong Ning was stunned. He didn’t expect a woman like Su Miaoyan to be harder to comfort than a little girl, and even her crying had a hint of coquettishness.
