Chapter 1321: Chapter 1316: Ye Qingyi Plots Against Chu Yihan

Ye Qingyi held the food container as she got off the carriage outside the military camp, waiting for the guards to pass the ssage on her behalf. While she couldn’t enter, she could still rely on the soldiers to communicate for her. Ye Qingru ca out to see her and said coldly, “How many tis have I told you? Don’t co to the military camp, especially during warti. The city is already in chaos, and yet you dare to wander around! Go back now!”

Though Ye Qingru’s tone was harsh, each word was filled with pampering and concern for Ye Qingyi.

Ye Qingyi, seeing her injured brother, felt a natural surge of heartache and asked Bilei to hand a food container to him, “Brother, I’m just worried about you and Father. Both of you are injured, and since I can’t help you in battle, the least I can do is prepare so dicinal cuisine to help you recover. Please, take this as a token of my care!”

Bilei handed over the food container, and Ye Qingru sighed softly as he accepted it, “I know you an well, but all of these things are inconsequential compared to your safety! If anything were to happen to you on your way here, Father and I would be filled with imnse regret. Stop busying yourself and go back, now that you’ve delivered the items!”

Ye Qingyi bit her lip lightly, “Wait… brother, there’s another one for the emperor. With the ongoing war, I imagine the emperor must be exhausted as well. He… you all need to take care of yourselves!”

Suspicion arose in Ye Qingru’s eyes, “You’ve made dicinal cuisine for the emperor?”

He did not think ill of his sister but still felt the need to remind her, “The emperor’s als are prepared by a special team, and he’s not the kind to be fussy. He’s been at war for many years; this battle is nothing out of the ordinary for him! You are a sheltered young lady; you shouldn’t trouble yourself so much. If people didn’t know better, they might think you have so designs on the emperor! You’d better stop indulging in such fantasies.”

He had never considered using his sister to seek favor with the emperor.

Ye Qingru was straightforward, and Ye Qingyi felt a mixture of sha and indignation as he saw right through her. Yet she had to cover it up by saying, “Brother, why would you interpret it that way! I just… respect the emperor! With his brilliant and godlike martial prowess, even common folk hold him in high regard, wanting to do sothing for the emperor. Don’t think otherwise, brother.”

“Alright, alright, I won’t accuse you of anything else, just hurry back ho! And don’t co out again!” Ye Qingru handed all the food containers to a lieutenant nearby, urging Ye Qingyi to leave quickly.

Bilei sighed quietly at her side, knowing that Miss’s plan was unworkable.

But Ye Qingyi was not willing to give up. She hadn’t managed to approach Chu Yihan because her brother obstructed her path.

“Alas! How should we proceed with treatnt now?”

Just as Ye Qingyi turned to leave, she saw two military doctors co out. Both were wearing a look of distress, discussing the treatnt for Chu Yihan’s injuries. Ye Qingyi intentionally slowed her steps to eavesdrop, and her brows lifted in joy at what she heard!

She turned and grabbed Ye Qingru by the wrist, “Brother, is the emperor injured? Has he been blinded by poison powder, and is he now in unbearable pain, unable to open his eyes?”

Ye Qingru was taken aback, “How do you know?”

He looked at the two military doctors who had just passed by, guessing they must have left the camp to gather herbs and find a solution.

But what was Ye Qingyi planning to do?

“Brother, I once studied under an old doctor in the deep mountains for a while, and I happened to encounter such a strange poison. I’ve heard that the Gelong Grass in the mountains can cure it. Why don’t you let try?”

Ye Qingyi courageously suggested.

Bilei whispered with concern, “Miss, although you’ve studied, this is treating the emperor’s eyes.”

The two military doctors who had just co out had been in the army for many years. They were deeply troubled by the emperor’s injury, indicating it must be a difficult wound to heal!

She charged in so rashly, what if she couldn’t cure him?

Ye Qingru was aware that Ye Qingyi knew a great deal; her culinary skills were excellent, and she was diligent and eager to learn, but this was the emperor’s injury, after all. He stepped forward to stop the two military doctors and inquired whether Gelong Grass could cure Chu Yihan’s eye wound.

The doctor, with so knowledge, suddenly lit up, “That might actually work!”

He had guessed as much earlier but had been afraid to administer the treatnt!

Now that Ye Qingyi had approached them, she gave a slight bow, “Qingyi has spent her childhood in the company of a doctor deep in the mountains. I wonder if I might offer so assistance to the two military doctors.”

Considering that she might be able to give it a try, the two military doctors agreed and, protected by Ye Qingru, took her up the mountain to gather herbs. Gelong Grass was difficult to find, but Ye Qingyi had so true skill—she found it before the two military doctors.

After slling it and confirming that it was indeed Gelong Grass, they brought it back to the military camp.

Ye Qingyi too wished to follow them inside; it would be great if she could see Chu Yihan.

But Ye Qingru hesitated, “Sister, you should go back first. Leave the rest to the military doctors.”

Ye Qingyi was taken aback, her heart was in turmoil; she had finally found an opportunity, and now Ye Qingru wouldn’t let her go!

She quickly said, “Brother, it’s not just Gelong Grass that’s required, there are other ingredients too, and the military doctors might not be fully aware. Let accompany you into the military camp, and we can decide after seeing the emperor.”

Ye Qingru’s gaze swept over the military doctors, who looked back and forth at each other with hesitation in their eyes. The more timid but knowledgeable doctor whispered, “It wouldn’t hurt for Miss to accompany us; after all, she was the first to find the Gelong Grass.”

Joy flashed across Ye Qingyi’s face; she was eager to move.

But Ye Qingru was in a quandary, “However, won are not allowed in the military camp. I must report to the emperor first.”

He asked Ye Qingyi to wait at the entrance to the military camp while he went to Chu Yihan’s tent to explain the situation.

Under normal circumstances, Chu Yihan would not permit Ye Qingyi to treat his injuries, but his eyes were burning with unbearable pain. Not only was his vision impaired, but the pain had spread to his head as well, causing his brain to feel exceedingly foggy.

He waved his hand, “Let her in, I… must recover as soon as possible.”

He couldn’t give Chen Ruobai a chance to recover; wounding Xin Yi was the perfect opportunity to take down Qiongzhou City and hunt down Chen Ruobai.

When Ye Mian heard the news, he rushed to the military tent, dragging his wounded body. By the ti he arrived, Ye Qingru was guarding outside, and Ye Qingyi and the military doctors were already inside. Ye Mian slapped Ye Qingru on the head in anger and scolded him, “Your sister is being foolish, are you being foolish as well? How competent do you think she is, daring to treat the emperor’s injury? If sothing goes wrong with the emperor, can she handle it, or can you?”

“Father… Sister said she was confident! And it was the military doctors who agreed to it!” Ye Qingru replied, feeling wronged; he wasn’t thoughtless, he had considered it deeply.

Both military doctors had agreed, and the emperor had personally consented. He couldn’t be blad for making a decision on his own, could he?

“You, you! If the military doctors dared to do it themselves, why involve your sister? Would they share the credit for curing the emperor with others? They didn’t even dare to proceed, so why did you allow your sister to take this risk? What am I supposed to say about you!” After scolding Ye Qingru, Ye Mian began to bla himself,
