“About your parents.” Lu Yichen continued, “I told him that we hope to officially get engaged and then rightfully go to find your parents together.”
“Why did you tell him that?” Zhong Niangyao frowned, “You have no idea how much they’ve worried over my father’s situation all these years. They still don’t know the outco, and you’ve told him prematurely. What if the news is bad? That would disappoint them.”
“Your grandfather is not so fragile,” Lu Yichen replied with a smile and shook his head, “Moreover, you shouldn’t have kept this from them. You know they’ve been worried about your father for years.”
“Now that there’s news, they have the right to know.”
After hearing Lu Yichen’s words, Zhong Niangyao bowed her head, lost in thought.

Zhong Niangyao sighed and then nodded her head, “Maybe it’s good for them to know. They’ve always believed my father was still alive. This might bring them so comfort.”

Recently, she had heard from Yaoyao that her son was still alive, reigniting her hope.
And now, her husband was telling her that they had news of their son from Yaoyao’s side. How could she not be overwheld?
“It’s true,” Old Sir Zhong nodded affirmatively, “Yichen told that once their engagent is finalized, he and Nianyao will go find Third Son together. However, he did not specify where.”
“You agreed to Yichen and Nianyao’s early engagent because of this.” Old Madam Zhong frowned, not entirely approving, “How could you do this? You’re obviously sacrificing Nianyao.”
“What are you talking about!” Old Sir Zhong replied a bit defensively, “You know how much I love Nianyao. How could I sell her out for this?”
“The reason I agreed to their engagent is mainly because of their genuine affection for each other. It’s evident that Yichen truly cares deeply for our Nianyao, and she has not shown any resistance. Their relationship is strong, and while the engagent might seem rushed, it was a natural progression. Also—”
Old Sir Zhong looked up and sighed helplessly, “As much as it hurts to admit, the Zhong family simply cannot compare with the Lu Family. In face of the Lu family, we are but a small entity. If the Lu family proposes an engagent, we can hardly keep refusing.”
