“For ?” Zhong Niangyao felt her mind just couldn’t keep up.
She had never expected that Lu Yichen would leave to buy her an ice cream cone. For a mont, she recalled their interactions; although they were baffling to her, she vaguely sensed certain things.
“Take it,” Lu Yichen said indifferently, “Didn’t you want to try one?”
Zhong Niangyao reached out and took the ice cream cone from Lu Yichen’s hand, her gaze complicated for a mont.
Lu Yichen sat down beside Zhong Niangyao, not noticing the complexity in her eyes.
“Lu Yichen, you—” Zhong Niangyao furrowed her brows, thought for a mont, and then spoke, “What exactly do you feel for , anyway?”
Although she had never been in love, she wasn’t naive. Thinking about their tis together, and how Lu Yichen had imdiately gone to buy her an ice cream cone just from her glance, she couldn’t believe such behavior was that of re friends.
Yet, the notion that Lu Yichen liked her seed overly far-fetched. Their acquaintance was brief and their interactions limited; it was impossible for any feelings to have developed so quickly.
Thus, she wanted to question Lu Yichen but didn’t know how to express herself.
“What do you think?”
Although Zhong Niangyao hadn’t spoken clearly, it was clear that Lu Yichen had understood her aning, “What do you feel the nature of our relationship is?”
For the mont, Zhong Niangyao found herself unable to answer. If they were lovers, their relationship hadn’t reached such intimacy. Yet if they were just friends, there seed to be a hint of sothing more.
Up until today, she had never considered that there might be sothing between her and Lu Yichen. Just a while ago, in front of Old Madam Lu, she had confidently declared that she harbored no other feelings towards Lu Yichen.
Today, though, she suddenly realized that Lu Yichen’s feelings for her might not be so simple.
As for herself, she didn’t seem to have many thoughts about Lu Yichen, or, to be precise, she had no thoughts about such emotional matters at the mont.
“Lu Yichen, we ham his face, “I don’t think that you could really understand from such brief encounters.”

Lu Yichen even changed the way he addressed her, “Do you believe in destiny? From the first ti I t you, I felt as if we had known each other before.”
Hearing Lu Yichen refer to her in such a manner made Zhong Niangyao’s skin crawl, and she quickly raised her hand to stop him, “Don’t call by that na; our relationship isn’t at that point yet.”
Such a term of e whisper, and their current relationship certainly didn’t warrant such intimacies.
“Yaoyao, I think it suits us well,” Lu Yichen chuckled, “Besides, it’s just a na. Do you really mind that much?”
Yaoyao, Yaoyao!
He always felt familiar when calling her that na, as if he used to murmur it often.
Zhong Niangyao stood up and stated, “It’s getting late; I should be going.”
Without waiting for Lu Yichen’s reaction, she quickly left.
All of Lu Yichen’s behavior today was beyond her expectations. She never imagined that she would have any sort of developnts with Lu Yichen. Her emotions were a ss, hence she chose to flee. At least for now, she didn’t want to confront this version of Lu Yichen.
Left behind, Lu Yichen didn’t show any sign of dejection. Watching Zhong Niangyao walk away, a smile curled upon his lips.
Ai Lun and Uncle Li, who were hidden in the shadows, ca to Lu Yichen’s side at just that mont.
Seeing the genuine smile on Lu Yichen’s face, both were taken aback and gained a clearer understanding of Zhong Niangyao’s significance in Lu Yichen’s heart.
They had seen their master’s aningful smiles, calculating smiles, cold smiles, but they had never seen such a genuine smile co from his heart before.
They didn’t undersichen had t many impressive won before, but he had never acted like this.
However, the reason for their master’s special treatnt of Zhong Niangyao didn’t matter. What mattered was that since the master cared for Zhong Niangyao, it was natural for his subordinates to understand his intentions.
anwhile, after getting into the taxi, Zhong Niangyao gradually cald down and her mind started functioning again.
Leaning back in her seat, she took a deep breath and a hint of resignation crossed her face.

“Driver, you’re quite perceptive, aren’t you?”
Zhong Niangyao looked up, and when she clearly saw the driver in front, her smile vanished, and her brows furrowedgh school now! But, she’s busy as a bee every day, barely has ti to feel sorry for herself…”
Listening to the driver’s incessant chatter, Zhong Niangyao’s frown deepened.
After arriving at her destination, Zhong Niangyao got out of the cab, thought for a mont, then finally pulled out a neatly folded piece of talisman paper from her bag. Along with her paynt, she handed it to the driver.
