Chapter 165: Chapter 165 Fun Things

“I feel that our relationship hasn’t reached that level yet!” Zhong Niangyao shrugged her shoulders and then naturally picked up the cup of tea Lu Yichen had just poured for her. After taking a sip, she slowly began, “So, I think you might as well speak plainly if you have sothing to say!”

“It’s really a matter of urgency, isn’t it!” Lu Yichen chuckled lightly, “I did indeed want to invite you for a al today, but at the sa ti, I also have an amusing piece of news to share with you.”

Upon hearing this response from Lu Yichen, Zhong Niangyao was sowhat skeptical, “Amusing news?”

She wasn’t quite clear about what kind of person Lu Yichen was, but why did those words “amusing” coming out of his mouth make her feel so doubtful?

“It really is quite amusing.” Lu Yichen raised an eyebrow and continued, “Your cousin, Zhong ngxuan, has ended up in the bed of my grand-nephew, Lu Chenran!”

“Spit—”

While still drinking her tea, Zhong Niangyao suddenly spat all the tea in her mouth and then began to cough continuously, “Cough, cough, cough—”

Lu Yichen had not anticipated such a big reaction from Zhong Niangyao. He stood up, ca to her side, and gently patted her back, his tone carrying a touch of helplessness, “Is there a need to be so rushed? It’s just a small matter; your reaction is a bit too extre!”

“This is a small matter!” Zhong Niangyao finally stopped coughing, “Do you know how big a stir this news can cause in the Zhong Family?”

At this mont, she was completely unaware of how intimate her interactions with Lu Yichen had beco. All her attention was focused on the issue ntioned by Lu Yichen.

Previously, Zhong ngfan had gotten pregnant before marriage, and now Zhong ngxuan was involved with Lu Yichen’s nephew. What was with these girls from the Zhong Family, why were they all so botherso?

She did not have any affection for these two cousins, but she did care for Old Master Zhong and Old Madam Zhong! After she ca to this world, the elderly couple had always treated her very well. Other than her master, they were the first elders to offer her such warm care.

Just after the incident with Zhong ngfan, and now if Zhong ngxuan’s issue were to co out, Old Sir and Old Madam wouldn’t know how big of a shock they would suffer!

Seeing that Zhong Niangyao had returned to normal, Lu Yichen went back to his seat and sat down again, “Lu Chenran is my older brother Lu Yihong’s eldest son, twenty-three years old, a year younger than your cousin.”

“Does this Zhong ngxuan have a hole in her brain?” Zhong Niangyao’s tone was not very nice either, “Who else could she have provoked, to bother your Lu Family? Although your family isn’t exactly a ‘Dragon Pond and Tiger Cave’, it’s certainly a pit of fire.”

At this ti, she completely disregarded Lu Yichen sitting opposite her, who was also a mber of the Lu Family, and did not hesitate to speak such words. Perhaps, in her subconscious, she did not believe Lu Yichen would be angered by her words.

Indeed, that was the case. After hearing how Zhong Niangyao described it, Lu Yichen was not angry but felt sowhat amused, “Regardless of whether the Lu Family is a ‘Dragon Pond and Tiger Cave’ or a ‘pit of fire’, your cousin can’t get into it anymore. My grand-nephew has already been engaged to the Long Family’s youngest daughter, who is twenty years old and still in university. Both families have agreed, and once Long Jiarui graduates from college, they will get married.”

That was the reason he had brought up the matter to Zhong Niangyao.

After hearing what Lu Yichen had said, Zhong Niangyao’s lips curled into a cold smile, “This Zhong ngxuan really is brainless, finding soone who is already engaged.”

Though Zhong Niangyao was not familiar with the Long Family, she had heard of them. The Long Family was mainly involved in politics, a first-rate grand family in the Imperial Capital, and quite a match for the Lu Family in terms of social standing. Thus, Lu Chenran’s engagent to the youngest daughter of the Long Family made sense.

Such an alliance between two great families was not likely to be easily broken.

“I told you this so that you would be ntally prepared.”

In the anti, the service staff had co in with the dishes one after another.

Lu Yichen and Zhong Niangyao paused their discussion on this topic.

“Alright, don’t think too much about it.” Lu Yichen picked up a piece of at and placed it in Zhong Niangyao’s bowl, saying, “Now that you know about it, you don’t need to worry.”

“That’s true,” Zhong Niangyao nodded and then said, “However, it seems I should still inform my grandparents first, so they can decide how to handle it.”

“You make your own decision,” Lu Yichen nodded, “Telling you this was to prepare you.”

After finishing the al, Zhong Niangyao was going to take her leave.

However, at this mont, Lu Yichen spoke up, “It’s still early; there’s no need to hurry back. How about we take a walk? It would be good to have a stroll.”

Zhong Niangyao was not in the mood to go for a walk with Lu Yichen, and their relationship wasn’t so close as to warrant a stroll together.

Yet before she could refuse, Lu Yichen chuckled and said, “What? After I’ve given you such important information today, can’t you accompany for a stroll?”

With that, the refusal that had nearly reached her lips was held back.

A mont later, the two were walking in the park.

It was already evening, and the park was particularly lively. Elder ladies dancing in the square, hawkers setting up their stalls, and children playing and frolicking around—though it could not be described as bustling with noise, it was still filled with the zest of life.

Neither Zhong Niangyao nor Lu Yichen often ca to such places, but both seed quite natural and showed no signs of discomfort.

It wasn’t long before the two sat down on a park bench.

Zhong Niangyao looked at a child nearby holding a cone and couldn’t help but feel curious.

Lu Yichen left her with a “Wait for ” and then stood up and walked away.

Zhong Niangyao was sowhat puzzled but didn’t ask further.

Soon, she saw Lu Yichen walking back slowly with a cone in his hand.

Though dressed in casual clothes, the cone in his hand seed notably out of place. Even in such attire, Lu Yichen still did not quite fit into the ambiance of the park.

Before Zhong Niangyao could recover, Lu Yichen had already approached her and handed the cone to Zhong Niangyao.
