Chapter 206: Being on the run and being hunted down

Raine was still unconscious when she heard a few murmurs running around her. And through the cacophony of tones and voices, one sounded too familiar. ’Was it Tyrone?’ she drowsily thought.

"Are you nuts? You seriously wanted to do that right now?"

"I have to do this now... It’s the only way I can save her and make sure she’s safe. This way, they’d have second thoughts about touching her, and I could easily know if she’s ever in danger..."

Raine wanted to open her eyes, but her eyelids were too heavy. She couldn’t feel her body as well. Everything felt numb. However, her body eased when she felt a familiar pair of arms wrap her around their warmth.

She sheepishly tried to open her eyes, lines forming on her forehead as she weakly whispered, "Tyrone?"

"I’m sorry, but I have to do this."

Raine didn’t know what was happening. She could only lay still as he leaned closer. Suddenly, Raine felt a sharp excruciating pain between her neck and shoulder. It was as if he had bitten her. She couldn’t exactly explain the sensation, but there was an absolute shock of pain that ran through her body. A part of her knew that there was sothing more to it, but she didn’t know what to make of it just yet. The only thing she knew was that she felt so dizzy and lost that she completely blacked out.

anwhile, in another room where Boris and Lyne were being held...

"Please stop pacing," Lyne murmured at Boris.

Boris let out a sigh and sat beside her as he mumbled, "Sothing feels off. Look at where they detained us. This is sothing I least expected. We should be in the dungeon, but this room looks more like a honeymoon suite for the two of us!"

Lyne rolled her eyes. She was aware that Boris purposely said his last words to kill the tension of how they failed their mission. However, him trying to add humor to their bleak circumstances only made her sigh more.

"You want to stop

from pacing, and yet here you are, keeping on sighing," Boris snorted.

"How’s your injury?" Lyne abruptly asked, changing the subject. She was lucky to only get a minor scratch while battling Danos. That was because Boris had shielded her often using his own body.

"Ah, this is nothing. It’ll heal faster when compared to the other since silver bullets are poisonous in their bodies," Boris scoffed. "Danos would at least be limping for a month, not to ntion how he wouldn’t be able to use his right arm properly." His bravado then turned apologetic as he whispered, "I’m sorry I failed to rip his head off though..."

"That’s alright, Boris. Thank you for saving ," Lyne whispered. She knew that Boris could’ve probably ripped Danos’s head off if not for him protecting her. He couldn’t focus on Danos since she noticed how his eyes were always on her, making sure that she was safe from any attack.

At her words, Boris’s face reddened, including his ears. He couldn’t hide the overwhelming feeling he felt at that mont. Lyne shook her head and unconsciously smiled, looking at how Boris’s smile stretched from ear to ear.

’Look at this beast acting so coy,’ Lyne thought.

Their silent bickering was suddenly interrupted by the opening of the door.

"You..."

Both Lyne and Boris gasped as they stared in disbelief at the man before them.

"The Boss was right in her hunch all along," Lyne gasped, her terrified eyes now staring at the man wearing a gleaming golden thin crown with a carving of a wolf’s howling head in the center. "You’re the new king? You’ve deceived us all this ti," she grunted with gritted teeth.

"So you’re King Nathaniel? Not Tyrone?" Boris asked with a frown.

"Technically, he’s also Tyrone since that’s the na he’s been using after he survived the eradication your King Marcus did to his family and his father’s followers," the man behind Tyrone nonchalantly chid in.

Lyne looked at the man who spoke and murmured, "You... you saved our Boss..." She could see the great similarities that she assud that Tyrone used this man as a decoy before to pretend as the lollipop boy while Tyrone was with them.

"He’s my nephew, Davin..." Tyrone murmured.

’Nephew of Nathaniel Yue? Princess Ester’s grandson? He was alive?’ Lyne quietly pondered, wondering if she was right since she could see the resemblance from Yue’s genes. Or she could be wrong? The man could probably be his nephew from Nathan’s mother’s side right? She cleared her head since there were more important things she must occupy her thoughts with.

Without a word, Tyrone casually sat on the opposite couch before Lyne and Boris. "It’s a long story, but trust

when I say that I will make sure that Raine is safe. However, the process could be dangerous, and I will make sure as well that you two will leave unscathed so long as you cooperate with ," he briefed with grave levity. "For now, you should address

as Nathan, and don’t ever ntion the na Tyrone in here," he instructed with a serious tone and expression.

"How can we trust you when you already fool us once?" Lyne mockingly asked.

Nathan looked at Boris and said, "You do know that Raine is my mate. And I’m sure you’ll understand my sentints in protecting her with my life. After all, you’re doing the sa for Lyne, correct?"

Boris didn’t answer, but his silence only ant that he agreed.

Wordlessly, Nathan opened his palm, making the Voyager’s Watch appear.

"This Voyager’s Watch is under my protection as one of the bearers of the crescent-shaped mark. My daughter had traveled back in ti and stayed with us, but you guys forgot about her after she went back to her proper era the other day," the King explained. "All of you forgot about her along with all of the mories connected to her. Whether they be events, people, or things, they had been erased by the causality of the Watch. I’m sure you all have the sa feeling that there are these blank gaps inside your mories, and that’s because of my daughter who went back to her era."

"To summarize everything, what King Nathan wanted to say is that he told you all the truth about his identity and how he was already making plans to prevent this war between the Convel Society and the Moon Clan," Davin interrupted with a shrug, knowing that Nathan was atrocious with explaining himself. "However, an inevitable event happened, and you all lost your precious mories about delaying the attack and the possible cancellation of the assault that you did last night, jeopardizing this King’s plan and making things more complicated for both parties."

"Now, King Marcus is awake, and he has with him Convel Society’s precious heirs, Elder Decan and Elder Lucio’s children, to make sure that his daughter is safe... I will need your help so that I can assure Raine’s safety, as well as you two since the Elders, and especially Danos would never spare the possibility of letting the three of you out alive..." Nathan uttered. He could always just try to escape with Raine and the rest. But if the results were that their lives would be spent being on the run and being hunted down both by the Convel Society and Moon Clan, then he couldn’t accept such an option. He didn’t want to give that kind of life to Raine...
