Chapter 205: We’ll definitely rescue you

At the Moon Clan Territory

Levi, Mia, and Dylan were currently inside an enclosed room with King Marcus. The three wouldn’t even dare to breathe properly as they waited for their King to talk. The man was on his chair, his eyes closed as if he was in deep thought.

The deafening silence was really terrifying...

"I’ve predicted that my daughter will make a move like this, so I made sure that Randall would be able to monitor things before the peace treaty talk with the Convel Society began. That and if ever sothing bad happened to . I simply want to make sure that we’ll have sothing to bargain with in case things won’t go to our advantage," King Marcus murmured, his eyes still closed as he spoke. "Raine is still as stubborn as always..." he added with a low tone.

"How co this much has happened in only a single day?" he growled. "This should be a joyous day to celebrate since I’ve finally woken up, but how co bad news had to slap

like this as soon as I opened my eyes? Yun is dead, and my daughter is captured!!"

Mia gulped, seeing the blazing fire in King Marcus’s eyes the mont he opened them. Imdiately, she felt goosebumps appear all over her body. Sothing seed different with their King. His aura... it felt stronger than before... And he looked extrely young and healthy?

"I want to know every exact vital information I’ve missed ever since I fell into a coma. So tell ... Who would volunteer to give out every single detail I want?" King Marcus intensely stared at the three in front of him without batting an eye.

"I’ll do it," Levi bravely volunteered. Unfortunately, their mories haven’t been erased yet. But between him and Mia, he was more rational and could handle a situation like this, as was planned by the Boss in case such a scenario happened.

With a hand wave, King Marcus signaled Dylan and Mia to leave. Predictably, the two quietly followed. Mia then spared not a mont and quickly proceeded with the backup plan while Levi would buy her so ti, dealing with King Marcus. She knew she had to move quickly and erase everyone’s mories about Tyrone and Xander. She had already asked Dylan to gather everyone inside one of the private rooms in their Boss in the mansion and wait for her to get the letter the Boss wanted to read to them should the worst-case scenario happen.

As soon as everyone was inside, she let the Glawackus powder spread like tear gas inside the room. When everyone had completely passed out, she played out the Boss’s voice, telling them to forget everything that had a connection with Tyrone and Xander that they recorded beforehand. After she was done, she imdiately destroyed the recorder and the CCTV footage, then cleared the airways inside the room. As soon as everyone was back to their senses, Mia entered.

She looked at Dylan and said, "We will proceed as planned. Boss wanted all of our mbers who got infected safe, so all of us should be careful about it."

"We understand," Dylan promptly answered. "Three of our mbers were infected, and Dan is currently handling them now at the safe house," he inford.

Mia nodded. It was only Dan that was now left. For now, there won’t be a need to wipe his mories since he’d be staying with the others at the safehouse. Their Boss had already arranged for trusted people who were waiting at the safe house. They already knew what they had to do if the other mbers turned into mutants. They had been people who were recomnded by Tyrone courtesy of the Umbra Security Agency, and they were well versed in handling such a situation and keeping their mbers safe.

Mia let out a long sigh and whispered, "Levi and I will handle everything from here, so you guys should take a rest for now. You all deserve it."

"What about Princess Raine?" Dylan worriedly asked...

Mia gave everyone a reassuring smile, knowing how they were all anxious that their Princess had been left behind. "We’ll get her back, so I decided not to read the letter she left," Mia confidently reassured them. "I’m sure King Marcus will do everything in his power to rescue her. For now, let’s just wait and condition our bodies for the next battle... Especially you, guys. You’ve all been through so action, so just rest for the anti."

Dylan sighed, nodding in understanding before he and everyone else left the room to go back to their respective residences.

After everything was said and done, Mia looked at her wristwatch. She wasn’t sure how long Levi would stay talking with King Marcus, but she intended to wait for him. As such, she stayed inside the room, knowing that Levi would know she was there. She comfortably sat on the long couch and laid her back on the armrests. She felt so exhausted even though she wasn’t a part of the team fighting on the scene. She still lacked sleep as well.

There was only silence at first, till she broke it with her own suppressed sobs. The letter the Boss left was still in her pocket, and she didn’t dare to read it. After all, it felt like it was a farewell letter for all of them.

"I won’t read this! Why would I?! We’ll definitely rescue you, Boss. You’ll definitely co back to us," Mia murmured with determination even as she continued sobbing.

The Boss was like her sister. She could still rember how she would always take care of her and Lyne when they forcefully entered the training for the Shadow Beauties at a young age. The Boss was like their eldest sister, making sure that she and Lyne weren’t bullied during the training. And that ti when she was eighteen, the Boss saved her from a Vampire who preyed on her while she was in the dormitory of her school. It had been so terrifying at the ti that she thought that her life was already going to end.

However, the Boss saved her right on ti... And since then, she clung to the Boss and strived harder so that she could be a part of her Moonlight Squad. She looked up to her and respected her, and she could also feel how genuinely the Boss cared for them... All of her Moonlight Squad mbers like her own family. They were not just a squad performing their duties to eliminate mutants that were a threat to humans... They were all family.
