Then she pulled out another mask — the one she always used for official operations.
She pressed the mask on and smoothed the edges so it looked normal.
A black sedan was parked at the far end.
Driver in full black suit and sunglasses, standing straight like a statue.
He opened the door the mont she approached.
"Yoon Ha-rin," he said.
She raised a brow. "Yeah. That’s ."
"Imdiate extraction," he said. "Please get in."
She leaned on the door instead of getting in.
"What’s Ghost-6?" she asked.
He replied, "You will be briefed at the location."
"That’s not helpful."
"That is all I can say."
She stared at him for a second, trying to read him.
Nothing. No emotion. No reaction.
She clicked her tongue. "Alright, whatever."
She got in the back seat.
The car door shut behind her.
The sedan pulled away from the location, and Ha-rin looked out the window, eyes half-closed.
"Ghost-6...?" she whispered.
She smirked a little. ’Looks fun.’
[Hidden Betting Hall – Yongsan Backstreet – Seoul]
The illegal gambling house felt cramped the mont you stepped inside.
Too many people, not enough air.
n yelling at screens showing horse races and football replays.
Every chair screeched when soone moved, every corner slled like cigarettes mixed with cheap alcohol.
It was chaos — half the people were drunk, and the rest were busy cheating.
And in the middle of that ss...
Lee Dong-wook sat on a sofa stained with old beer marks, the leather peeling at the edges, one side sinking lower than the other.
A bottle of soju in one hand. Another empty one rolling near his foot. His tie was gone. His shirt was half open. His face red like a boiled octopus.
He was just laughing to himself.
Dong-wook burst into a laugh that cracked halfway through, wobbling between hiccups and snorts.
Even with all the noise, a few gamblers still glanced over, the sa look people give a drunk uncle passed out after cheap soju.
He was supposed to be undercover. Supposed to be finding the head of the gambling ring.
Instead...
He was drinking with the boss’s girlfriend.
She leaned on him, smacking her gum loudly.
"Oppaaa~ you’re funny," she giggled.
Dong-wook blinked slowly and pointed at himself. "...?"
She nodded, twirling her hair. "You’re a cute cop."
Dong-wook froze. Then whispered,
"...How you know I’m a cop?"
She pointed at his badge poking out of his shirt pocket.
"Oh." He pushed it back inside.
"Now it’s gone," he said proudly.
She snorted.
Then—
THUD.
A heavy bat slamd onto the table.
The noise pushed through the packed, smoky room, mixing with the shouts and clattering chips.
Dong-wook turned his head slow, almost sliding to the side instead of turning.
The mafia boss stood there.
Neck veins popping. Face red. Eyes like he wanted to eat Dong-wook alive.
Behind him were ten n. All ard.
Iron pipes. Knives. One guy had a chain. Another swung a kitchen cleaver like he’d just walked out of a ran shop.
And the last guy... yes... nunchucks.
They clacked uselessly in his hands because he obviously had no idea how to use them.
Dong-wook stared at all of them. Then stared at his drink.
"...I did sothing wrong?" he asked.
The girlfriend whispered, "You flirted with for, like, forty minutes."
Dong-wook whispered back, "Ohhh... yeah... I forgot."
The mafia boss cracked his neck, the bat resting on his shoulder. "You wanna die today?"
Dong-wook squinted at him like he was trying to read tiny text. "...Wait. Who are you again?"
The whole room paused.
The boss slamd the bat on the floor. "Kang Gil-tae! This whole place is mine!"
Dong-wook blinked slowly. Then his eyes widened — not from fear, but like he finally found a missing puzzle piece.
"Ohhh. So you’re Kang Gil-tae."
He straightened his back, wobbled, then gave a sloppy drunk salute.
"Mission complete."
The girlfriend stared. The gangsters stared. Even the boss didn’t know how to react.
Dong-wook added, "Thanks, man. Saved ti. I was too drunk to look for you."
The boss’s face twisted in confusion, then rage. "You think this is funny?!"
Dong-wook blinked twice, swaying a little.
"...Hyung, seriously... I’m so hungover. Can we fight tomorrow instead?"
The room went quiet for one second.
Then the boss exploded. "GET HIM!!"
All ten n charged.
Dong-wook tried standing up. He wobbled. Almost fell. Looked like he might throw up.
But the mont the first knife ca close—
He snapped awake.
He grabbed the guy’s wrist, twisted it clean, and slamd his face into the card table.
Cards flew everywhere.
Everyone froze.
Dong-wook let out a long, exhausted sigh and rubbed his temples like the world’s biggest inconvenience had just walked in.
"Ahh... damn it... I said tomorrow..."
Another man swung a pipe at his head.
Dong-wook leaned a little to the left. The pipe missed by one centiter. He kicked the guy in the thigh so hard the man collapsed like wet cardboard.
Another man tried stabbing him.
Dong-wook snatched the knife mid-swing. Stabbed it into the floor. Then used the man’s own montum to flip him over his shoulder.
The man crashed into the sofa.
The whole thing gave out right away — the wood cracked, a spring shot out with a sharp sound, and the entire seat sank in like wet cardboard.
Dust burst up around them, and one of the tal legs rolled off across the floor.
Soone scread, "He’s a monster!!"
Dong-wook grabbed a half-full soju bottle and smashed it on soone’s skull. The bottle broke. The man didn’t get up again.
The nunchuck guy tried swinging. Dong-wook looked at him for one long second.
"...Do you even know how to use that?"
The guy swung again.
Hit himself in the face.
Fell down.
Dong-wook nodded.
"Yeah. Thought so."
He kicked him once for good asure.
In a minute—
five down, three crawling. One guy pretended to be unconscious to avoid getting hit. And the girlfriend was clapping like she was watching a street performance.
"Oppa!! Fighting!!"
Dong-wook pointed at her. "Don’t cheer... I’m already dying inside..."
Before he could breathe — Buzz. His phone vibrated. Everyone froze again.
Dong-wook checked it. His eyes squinted.
