The Trending Topic Herself: The Villainess is the Superstar! Chapter 122: Ryan Spencer Is a Good Guy
Maya Monroe never does anything that’s thankless or unnecessary.
After a bit of rest, the director picked up the gaphone again, his voice resonant: "I really apologize for shocking everyone just now, but it’s getting late. There are many dangers at night, so it’s not suitable to stay here for long. The cars are ready, everyone quickly get on and return to the camp!"
Maya had long wanted to leave here, and she quickly followed the main group onto the vehicle. Six cars were dispatched in total, and by chance, Maya was in a vehicle with Justin Morgan and Miles Wallace.
Justin kept his head down throughout, trying to diminish his presence.
And Miles...
Maya slightly furrowed her brows. Why was Miles staring at her all the ti? Could it be that she accidentally hurt his arm while they were trying to escape?
Otherwise, why would he keep looking at her with such a complicated expression? So after he thanked her, was he actually waiting for her to apologize?
When Maya gets tired, she tends to overthink, her mind never stopping.
She slightly turned her body, found a comfortable position, and fell into a deep sleep.
Miles pursed his lips slightly, his eyes not as calm as initially.
Back at the camp, Maya dove into her tent, took out a milk candy from her pocket, and felt much better once she put it in her mouth.
Because of the recent accident, all the caras were temporarily shut down. However, the director and the others were not relaxed; they were actually quite overwheld. Since the livestream was suddenly interrupted, they had to provide a reasonable explanation for the unexpected incident.
Without the caras, Maya felt more at ease, but she did not leave the tent, nor did she care about what was happening outside.
Her tent was quite far from the group of five, very peaceful; Maya no longer had to worry about the botherso noise.
She is a person with an open heart, or perhaps soone who does not dwell on the past. The perilous nature of the accident that just occurred made her anxious at the ti, but now that she was back in a safe environnt, the sense of crisis gradually faded.
After all, life must go on; there is no need to keep dwelling on panic just to torture oneself.
Once she shut her eyes, she was soon fast asleep.
Maya usually wakes up late, but before she could fully wake up, the show’s team roused her, saying there’s sothing they need to discuss with the guests.
Maya was not pleased at all: "It’s still early; not a good ti to discuss matters. Plus, I haven’t woken up yet. Let’s talk when I’m awake."
Having said that, she was ready to crawl back into the tent again.
The staff stopped her. Unlike their initial bureaucratic manner, they were now all speaking nicely, slowly persuading Maya.
"Ms. Monroe, there’s indeed sothing important. All the other guests have gone over, so please hurry as well!"
Unable to shake them off, Maya had no choice but to follow them.
"Ms. Monroe, aren’t you going to freshen up a bit?"
Maya, still bleary-eyed, her hair a little ssy, but thanks to her good looks, she wasn’t too disheveled.
Maya wasn’t fully awake, and she had no intention to freshen up or beautify herself.
"I look so good, what’s wrong with not washing my face for a day?" she casually replied.
The staff knew that once Maya made up her mind, it was hard to change, so they decided not to persuade her any further.
When Maya arrived at the designated place, almost everyone else was already there.
Since there were no caras and considering yesterday’s events, Maya suddenly had a guess. She leaned over to a staff mber beside her, eagerly asking, "Is it about going ho soon?"
The staff mber was stunned, not understanding why she thought so, but one truth remains: Maya only gets exceptionally enthusiastic about going ho. "No, Ms. Monroe."
Maya’s face fell: "Then why did you gather everyone to announce sothing?"
Since yesterday’s incident, Maya’s bravado left a mark in many people’s minds, especially among the security personnel who admire strong individuals.
"Ms. Monroe, it’s better to wait and hear from the director, okay?"
Though they refused, their tone remained respectful.
Maya could only sit in her spot, still on the simple little stool.
Maya felt a slight movent in her heart; every ti she sat on the small stool it was breakfast ti. Now, the sa feeling of breakfast distribution ca to her.
The bi-daily breakfast distribution is Maya’s favorite ti, because Ryan Spencer dotes on her, always buying data for her to be number one.
Maya pondered briefly; Ryan is indeed a decent guy, spending a lot of effort and money to ensure she has a good al.
The director, still holding his iconic gaphone, appeared a bit more haggard compared to his previous lively deanor.
"Currently, everything has been resolved. Regarding yesterday’s incident, I once again apologize to everyone. What I have to say next is very important. Although this is urgent, for the sake of the program’s progress, please take a good rest for half an hour, after which the livestream will continue."
Justin was taken aback, not caring whether his legs hurt or not, he sprang up: "With life at risk, who has the heart to shoot a variety show here?"
The director’s face turned stern; yesterday’s incident had sothing to do with Justin, so his face naturally soured when addressing Justin: "Yesterday, we’ve already communicated with the agents of all present guests. The current decision is to continue filming. If, Justin, you can’t endure, I can arrange for you to be sent back!"
By the end, the director’s tone carried a hint of anger.
Justin heard that his agent agreed to continue filming and gave up the thought of leaving, as the agent’s actions in so way represent the company’s intentions. He wasn’t foolish enough to go against the company for nothing. Besides, "Great Survival Challenge" always draws high attention; he hadn’t gained anything yet, how could he just go back in vain?
He just ant to complain casually, not expecting the director to seriously agree on his returning.
Justin’s expression changed several tis, eventually sitting back in his seat.
As for the show’s arrangent, Maya didn’t particularly object because they promptly prepared an even more sumptuous breakfast compared to before and it was without the popularity restrictions, directly skipping the tedious ranking announcent ti.
"Consider this breakfast as our apology to everyone, hoping everyone will give their best to find the golden key and return ho soon!"
With food, Maya nearly forgot all her worries, imrsing fully in the world of the gourmands.
