Chapter 5: Ch 5: Wrong Order? - Part 1

To be honest, I never gave a thought to how difficult working other jobs were. I never had a need to look around either since I used to be a top hunter.

But I was a little ashad to admit that I did think that it was an easy job anyone could do.

Well, compared to being a top hunter constantly clearing dungeons, any other job seed easier. But that did not an retail workers had it easy. Especially on a crowded day such as today.

It was my first day at work, and the irritation I felt made

feel like making it my last.

"Excuse , can I get a bowl of soup-"

"Hey, where is my order of fried chicken-"

"I ordered noodles half an hour ago. Why are they not ready-"

The loud noises felt overwhelming and my S-class senses made my head throb. But I pushed past it and quickly picked up the tray to serve the custors’ food.

I placed the tray where it needed to go and the custor didn’t even look up from the ga screen in front of him before he handed

the money.

One good thing about this place was the fact that people were not noisy about my life. If I wore a mask, they accepted it and did not try to push their limits.

No, they pushed my limits in other ways.

"Hey waiter-! This is not fair. I placed my order first so I should get it first as well. Tsk, I already waited an hour. At this rate, my food better be free."

The custor adjacent to the one I just served complained.

I wanted to yell at the custor and tell him that he ordered 10 minutes ago, not an hour ago. But from what I had seen thus far, that would just make the custor angrier.

So I just smiled at the custor and told him that his order was being prepared.

"Tsk, what a lousy place. I should have just stayed ho and played there."

The custor did not even bother looking at

when he spoke, but it suited

just fine. I quickly went back to work as well, weaving myself between tables and moving around.

However, no matter how much I tried to keep up, more and more people kept coming.

The crowd was not nearly as bad yesterday when I was here. So what could the reason be behind such a huge crowd?

"Ah, it is that ti of the year. Kyle, sorry for having you join at such a busy ti, but you should brace yourself. The crowd will likely be like this the whole week. It’s all because Luminos Guild, the top guild, is having its general admission this week."

Emma sighed as she looked at the flyer in her hand.

I felt a little stunned after hearing this because even I, soone who had only arrived in this ti period a few days ago, knew who Luminos Guild was.

First, to rely call them a guild would be an understatent. They were an empire that dealt with everything—from finances to electronics. But they were most famous for their high-class hunters.

The current top #1, #2, and #3 belonged to this guild.

No one knew who set it up or when they were created. All the information online stated that one day, Luminos showed up at the registry with the world’s current no. #1 hunter, Lynn, and then it beca a household na.

’Luminos sure is famous...but maybe not as much as my forr self.’

Then again, it was hard to top an international hero, no matter how big you got. But I knew that one day, my na would fade from people’s mory as well.

"Hey mister, get

more water."

Soone asked and I quickly stood up to get more water. The ti for talk was over.

The crowd began to get smaller and smaller as the sun sank beyond the horizon. I could finally breathe a sigh of relief as well.

"Finally, we got past the first day. We just have 6 more to go. Let’s get through this."

Dan, the chef, spoke in a tired voice. He and I were the people who had to work the hardest today and unlike my hunter stamina, Dan was just average.

"Thank you for all your hard work, Dan. I would make sure to reflect it in your pay this month. I think it’s ti for us to close for today-"

Just as Emma said that, her phone rang and she picked it up. Her expression remained neutral as she looked at her phone, but when she put it down, she sighed before she looked at Ben.

"I’m sorry, Dan. I know you are getting ready to head ho and all, but do you think you can make a few pizzas before you go? It was an urgent order from one of our regulars."

Emma sounded apologetic and Ben only sighed before he stood up to work once more.

"Sure, give

a sec. I think I have a couple bases ready. I just need to put them in the oven and they should be done-"

Ben got back to work and I had to admit that he was a better person than I was. I might have refused to work (which was not true) if I was given such a sudden order.

Once the pizza finished cooking, Emma packed them before she gave

a look.

"Kyle, do you think you can deliver this pizza? We don’t usually do deliveries but this order is special. You don’t have to go if you don’t want to. Ben can go instead."

Emma assured in her kind voice and I felt bad for her and Ben.

"No, it’s fine. I will deliver them myself. Where do I need to deliver them to?"

I asked as I picked up the packed order and Emma looked relieved.

"Oh-! You don’t need to go far. Actually, you just need to deliver to the building in front of you to the top office. Now, don’t be shocked when I tell you this, but the order was from Luminos Guild. Well, from Lynn to be more precise."

Emma told

and I tried to fake my shock.

I knew who Lynn was...or at least, his na. He was the current no. #1 hunter and also the most powerful alpha.

If given a choice, I wanted nothing to do with him, but work was work. So I decided to accept the delivery and give Emma an assuring look.

"I will be fine. I will co back soon, so don’t worry."

With that, I left the PC café to deliver the food to the huge building in front of the PC establishnt.
