Chapter 75: Chapter 75

"There’s so much to do before I leave. Ugh," Alia rubbed her temple to relieve herself of stress. "I need a book to write down everything I have to do. I don’t want to leave anything out and then constantly think about it in the north. First, I need so food. I cannot function without food. Gina, I’m going straight to the kitchen instead!"

"Thank goodness," Gina stopped walking at a fast pace so that Alia and Cyrus could catch up to her. "The cook will allow

to eat if you request it. It doesn’t offer the servants food after the ti for it has passed. The head maid instructed him not to. Honestly, my stay here without you two might be much better if that woman is no longer around."

"She has not quit after dealing with the northerners so I highly doubt she is going anywhere," Alia said to Gina’s dismay. "You only need to stay by my grandmother’s side. She will shield you from the head maid as I have. You will be fine," Alia held Gina’s hand.

"We should be more worried about you going to the north. Cyrus," Gina looked at the man beside Alia. "You better protect her well or I will travel to the north and kick your ass for failing to do so. She is the Blackwell’s precious princess. No harm must co to her if you wish to live to see another day."

"You need to work on the way you try to threaten soone," Cyrus brushed off her words. He knew she was just being protective of Alia but her words were far from being threatening. If they were going to leave Gina with a lot of responsibility, from this mont on she needed more confidence in the way she spoke, and her threats needed to scare soone.

"I can seriously threaten soone. I do it every day when the other servants try to eat my food. I am only being playful with you because I know you will not harm her but with anyone else, I will make them regret living. Like Killian Bune," she whispered as they walked by northern guards.

Little did she know they could hear her even when she was whispering. Perhaps, she wouldn’t have ntioned Killian if she knew that.

"Gina, let’s not ntion him outside of my room. We don’t want his n to think you would seriously harm him," Alia awkwardly chuckled, attempting to make it seem like Gina was joking as northerners had set their eyes on them. ’If only I could tell you about demons but you would freak out too much,’ she thought.

"I’m speaking softly, Alia. I swear I wish I could just kill Killian for-"

"That’s enough," Alia clamped her hand over Gina’s mouth to shut her up. "Seriously, do you not have any sense of danger? There are things you should never say out loud when people who are still your enemies right now are all around us. Please think before you speak, Gina."

Gina looked around at the northerners staring at them or more specifically her. She truly did not think she was talking loud enough for any of them to hear her so why were they staring at her as if they wanted to kill her? "I’m sorry," she mumbled against Alia’s hand. Already she was screwing up and Alia had not left yet. "That was careless of ."

"Make sure you never ntion that man’s na again. If you need to speak about him, don’t add his na. I don’t need anyone attacking you because of this."

"Don’t you think it’s strange that they heard

even though I was speaking so softly? They are just like Cyrus. I am certain Cyrus seems to hear everything. Are their ears much better than ours?" Gina beca suspicious. "It must be due to where they live. I have no idea what the north is like," she shrugged it off. "I’ll be extra careful in the future."

"I hope," Alia and Cyrus said at the sa ti.

"By the way, I don’t know if this is true or not but I think your aunt will soon visit the castle. It should be expected now that Fraser will be made true. I didn’t think she would be coming since your grandmother is here," said Gina.

"I wouldn’t expect my aunt to visit either. My grandmother is not fond of her and prefers to stay away. I guess she would also want to see if Fraser is alright amongst the people here. I don’t mind her presence, it’s her son that annoys . What about Annabelle? Has she been causing trouble?" Alia asked.

She expected Annabelle to do sothing drastic now that her child was not to beco the next king. Alia was still certain the child would be a girl. Maybe Annabelle realized she was weak without Richard by her side and she was for new allies.

’Anyone looking to make Annabelle’s child beco the next king will only have intentions of ruling behind that child as the king in the shadows. She might be desperate but she shouldn’t be foolish. It is best for her and her child if she lives quietly as the mother of an illegitimate royal," Alia thought.

"Why on earth am I even thinking about Annabelle? She was smiling alongside my father when I was supposed to be sent away to marry so random person," Alia muttered, no longer caring what Annabelle was up to. "Don’t tell

about her. Just feed ."

"I will before you get cranky. Once again, it was not my fault that you fell asleep when you were ant to be getting ready for the trip to the town. The only reason I am not getting on your case about this is the fact you were able to get a good rest. I-the king of the north," Gina quickly bowed her head as Killian approached them with a man right behind him.

"Good afternoon, princess. Did you sleep well?" Killian asked Alia with an amused smile lingering on his lips. "Can we talk in private? I’m sure there is sothing you wish to speak about after my last visit?"

"Gina, please go ahead and tell the cook to prepare sothing for the three of us. I will be there shortly. Cyrus, put so distance between us," Alia gave her order then waited for Killian to do the sa. "Aren’t you going to tell the man behind you to leave too?"

Gina hurried off while Alia had Killian distracted. Cyrus stepped back behind Alia with enough space for her to speak with Killian.

"Alastor," Killian called to the man behind him. "You heard the lady. Leave us. I will continue my conversation with you later."

"Yes, my king," Alastor bowed but before he left, he inspected the woman Killian planned on making their queen and found nothing interesting about her. How on earth was she able to make Killian stop what they planned to do and pick a bribe instead? ’I can never understand that man,’ he shook his head.

"Your friend does not seem as if he likes . That’s not reassuring when I have to beco the queen of more people like him. Shouldn’t soone who seems close to you at least pretend to like my presence?" Alia continued walking in the direction of the kitchen for food.

"Alastor cannot pretend to like anyone no matter if his life was on the line. Do not bother about him as he has always been hard to please."

"How did you make

fall asleep this morning? I only rember you touching my head and then I woke up a little while ago. Was it what so people call magic or another power?" Alia got straight to the point of what she desperately needed an answer for.

"It is a power I developed when there is sothing annoying before . I make them unconscious for a little while. You appeared sleep-deprived so I simply helped you out. Doesn’t that make

a wonderful husband-to-be?" Killian smiled but instead of it appearing loving, his smile seed nacing.

"Hmm, that’s debatable considering the fact you used power for annoying people on . Still, I have to thank you for it. I was able to sleep without having nightmares or waking up too fast. Is it possible for you to do that every night so that I can sleep without any problems? I know that-"

"I can," Killian agreed to do it.

Alia stared at him surprised he had agreed to do it so quickly. "What’s the catch? Is there sothing you need from ? If there’s information about this castle or my father you are trying to find, I cannot help you with that. I have been left in the dark when it cos to the things that happen here. Pick sothing easy and I will repay you for helping

sleep at night."

"There is no catch, princess. I am doing this to help my future wife sleep. Rember this when you need to be reminded I can be a good man."
