Chapter 53: Chapter 53
"Now that we have all enjoyed this pleasant conversation, Cyrus, please co inside and get rid of the spider before it disappears," Alia practically pulled Cyrus inside of her bedroom and slamd the door shut. "That was annoying," she sighed.
"Thank you but I’m afraid you’ve pissed him off more by ntioning his daughter."
"I don’t care. I would love to know why he was so close to my room when there is no business for him on this side of the castle. Why is he even here? Doesn’t he have a ho? I’d hate to find out my father has his followers living in the castle now," said Alia.
"There is sothing important we need to discuss. I’ve been down to the dungeon and spoke with the northerners your father captured. They are too quiet as if they are waiting for sothing, Alia. I promise you those n are skilled enough to escape. Why did you return from town so soon? Did you see anything?" Cyrus had to know as her answer would change everything.
He heard a guard who had gone along with Margaret and Alia speak about Alia randomly ntioning Killian Bune.
Alia rembered the chilling mont that prompted her to return to the castle. "Call
crazy but it felt like I could hear Killian talking to
in my head and it felt like he was right next to . Do you think he was right there? Hidden in the crowd?"
"I believe he is closer to the castle than anyone realizes. Those n your father captured will strike from the inside while Killian makes his way inside. That was why your father captured them. The castle will be turned upside down if Killian enters the castle. Many innocent people will get hurt."
"Wait, let
think," Alia held up her hand for Cyrus to give her a mont. She was surprised to learn Cyrus went down to the dungeon without telling her beforehand he was going and the simple fact he was able to see the northerners without getting caught. "Let’s follow our assumption that Killian is only here to kill my father and if my father is dead we might be able to form a truce with the north."
Alia did not want Killian to storm the castle. There were countless guards everywhere but they were not on alert as they should be because their own king was not taking this battle seriously. "We are going to kill my father tonight. With him gone, Killiam might not storm the castle looking for blood. I hope."
"What would you like
to do, princess? Should I take the poison and feed it to your father in his sleep-"
"No, I will kill him myself. We’re going to need a distraction," Alia turned around to face her window. It would be a distraction to remove her from the list of suspects. "Cyrus, set my mother’s tower on fire."
Cyrus’s eyes widened when he heard this. For months Alia had been trying to get inside her mother’s tower and now she wanted to burn it. "Princess, there has to be another-"
"No. There is not. Besides , that place is the only place with my mothers essence remaining in the castle. I am going to let her move on from what she endured in the castle. Everything will not be destroyed. The guards will rush to put it out. After the flas beco large, clear a path for
to my father’s room and kill anyone who cos near," she ordered him. "Go now."
"Yes, princess," Cyrus walked to her balcony and jumped to do as he was ordered to do.
Alia exhaled, preparing herself for what was to co. It pained her to have to kill anyone around her father’s room but she had to do it to protect herself. Anyone blocking her path to her father’s room or anyone who saw her around his tower had to die.
Alia went to her closet to quickly change her attire to sothing which would hide her face and hair. "Hello old friend," she picked out a simple dress like what the maids wore. She had this for when she would sneak out of the castle. Along with it, she took out a hood.

As ordered, Cyrus set Anne’s tower on fire, and as the flas dangerously grew and spread, a large number of guards rushed to put it out before it could spread to the rest of the castle and the king would have their heads.
On the king’s side of the castle, Alia followed the bloody path Cyrus created to her father’s room. As she walked to what would be her father’s last night, she thought about her life as a princess.
’A princess must sacrifice her own desires for the good of her people. That’s what they always say when they want to send her off to a marriage she objects to. A marriage they all know she will be mistreated in. The sole purpose of her existence was to be used as an exchange for the n losing the wars to save their lives.’
’No matter how strong I have beco, how much knowledge I have attained throughout the years, no matter how much more capable I am compared to the n in court, you still won’t pick ," Alia muttered to herself as she walked the lone halls in disguise going to her destination.
A trail of blood filled the floors from fallen n who would have gotten in her way. Alia avoided stepping in any of the blood as a precaution for the future. She wanted little to no evidence that she had been here.
She felt sorry for the guards as she passed by but none of them needed to share the secret that she was here tonight. "A castle guard must sacrifice his life for the good of the people," she changed the words told to her many tis to the fallen n.
"I will wash this castle with blood before I allow any of you to get rid of
so easily. This castle has been passed down to the Blackwell children for years and because I don’t wield a penis you’re going to sell
off," Alia clenched her fist full of hatred.
This was the mont she could turn back and no one would ever know it was her who did this but instead of retreating, she picked up the pace to reach the room quicker. Cyrus had quietly and quickly taken out the guards as he was instructed and it would be foolish to let this opportunity go. If she turned back, she’ll have to accept the fate they wanted to create for her.
Alia reached a golden door and imdiately opened it to step inside then closed it so that no one would interrupt her. On the inside was a sleeping man on a large bed completely unaware of what was happening tonight.
She cautiously approached the bed filled with disgust at how he peacefully slept at night while she lay awake for hours. Alia opened the cap of the small bottle with the red liquid.
Without waking the sleeping man, she leaned over enough and poured the liquid down his slightly opened mouth. After talking to Cyrus about the poison, she learned the liquid would slowly make anyone who drank it paralyzed, and then death would welco them soon enough.
Alia remained silent when his eyes shot open after feeling a burning sensation inside of his body.
"A-Alia," he choked when he saw the figure by his bed. "What are you- help ," he reached his hand up for her to take.
"I never wanted you to die like this. I wanted to see you suffer more. For a man like you, this death is a gift to you. I hope they torture you in the afterlife," Alia said glaring down at him while he struggled to fight for his life. She smiled on the inside at the sight of him starting to spit out blood.
"Help ," he begged again and tried to lift his hand but it wouldn’t move. "F-Forgive , child. Help ."
"Very well," she leaned forward to grab a pillow beside his head. "I’ll help you die quicker," she said before placing the pillow over his face.
The poison had taken control of his body making him unable to move. He could do nothing, not even scream into the pillow she forced down on his face. The poison burned his insides while the pillow took away his air.
Once he beca still, Alia removed the pillow to see his eyes and mouth wide open. She threw the pillow to one side staring down at her father without any remorse. Alia hurried away from the bed to the window as her distraction would begin to die down and the guards would be coming to check on the king.
She climbed out the window to where Cyrus was waiting for her and before she jumped, Alia had one last thing to tell her father, "The throne you never wanted
to have will be mine, father."
Then, she jumped.
