Chapter 355: Chapter 355

"Ti flies fast. It still feels like yesterday I found out that there was a child growing inside of

and Lilith was sneaking

souls to eat. Now you are all grown up and about to beco queen. Nervous?" Alia asked, walking closer to Mara as the maids continued to get her dressed for the big day.

"Now that I am not standing before a large crowd, I am not nervous. Standing before the people as I move from princess to queen will change that," Mara answered.

"You don’t need to look down at the crowd often. Look away when you start to feel nervous. That is what I used to do when I was younger. I still do it now. Trust , when you get out there, you won’t feel as you do now," Alia promised.

"You and father won’t leave right away, right? I need you here for the rest of the day. You are dismissed," Mara told the maids. She needed to have a small chat with her mother before going out to start a new Chapter in her life. "The only thing I worry about is that you and father must head to the north to rule."

"This kingdom now belongs to you so we must head to the north castle. The throne here is no longer mine. It has a ruler I am proud of. We will move to the north tomorrow afternoon, but it does not an we will not co to see you. I have been learning to fly for a reason. Your father and I will only live in the north for one year until Kila is old enough to beco its queen," said Alia.

The Bune kingdom would be ruled by two queens since the lands put together were too much for one ruler. Kila was one year younger than Mara and would soon be nad queen of the north.

"I hope that ti slows down. All of my babies are growing too fast. Adyan already speaks of wanting to explore the world. I am lucky that Silas has an interest in the underworld and wants to aid Lucifer in controlling part of it. You are old enough to take care of yourself and make your own decisions-"

"I will always co to you when I need help or I just want to be near you, mother. I will never be too old to co to you for a hug. Thank you," Mara said, picking up her dress to walk over to Alia for a hug.

"For what? Giving you hugs? You never have to thank ," Alia said, enjoying the hug nevertheless.

"I an for making this easy for . I know there are so people who question why I was chosen to be queen, but you have silenced them for

to give

a chance to show why I am to be given a chance at my birthright. I cannot thank you enough. I will not let your efforts go to waste. I will make you proud," Mara promised.

She would make the people who thought the kingdom should wait until Silas ca of age to crown a new ruler eat their words. Her mother went through too many troubles to get the chance to sit on the throne for her to waste what her mother worked for.

Alia proved herself to be a good queen and under her rule with Killian, the kingdom flourished. Mara wanted nothing more than to continue what her mother started.

"It was not only my doing. Who do you think silenced them? Your father has made this very much possible as I have. I shouldn’t cry before it gets started," Alia said, stepping out of the hug to wipe her eyes. "It is ti for us to go. For

to give my crown to you."

Mara held Alia’s hand so they could walk together. "Do you think father would cry today?"

"Of course. His first princess is becoming queen. He only looks like he is void of any emotion, but your father would cry before I do. Wait till you speak of getting married and having children. You will ruin his day," Alia chuckled.

Alia and Mara walked to the throne room where so of the townspeople and family awaited the mont the new queen would be crowned. The people, both demons and humans, bowed their heads as the two walked by.

Alia and Mara made it to the front where their family awaited them. Anne, Leonard, Ramona, Cordelia, Sybil, Lilith, Lucifer, Alastor, Gina, and their three children, Killian, Kila, Silas, Aydan, and Lamia, who beca the newest addition of the siblings five years ago, were all excited to see Mara.

Killian joined Alia with Mara to pass on this kingdom to his first child. He planned a long ti ago for his children to be rulers in this world, but he wished now that Mara was once again a little girl who would destroy everything in her path in order to get to him. He did not want to see anyone trying to court his little girl and hear talk about an heir any ti soon.

"You look lovely today," Killian said, giving her a hug to comfort her and help calm her nerves since she sotis feared crowds.

"Thank you. I mustn’t keep the people waiting," Mara said, letting her parents go to the priests standing on the steps.

After getting rid of the priests who wanted to kill demons, Alia let the temples be opened again for anyone who wanted to beco normal priests to enter and for the people who wanted to visit the temples could do so once again. The temple in the castle was open for humans to visit and the mory of Margaret trying to pour holy water on Killian was long forgotten.

"Have you cried already?" Killian whispered as the priest started so speech about the kingdom and being a ruler.

"Almost," Alia replied. She was still trying her best not to cry as it might make Mara cry. "She will make a good queen,"

Alia felt taken back to over sixteen years ago when she would enter the throne room when her father was busy and imagine herself sitting on the throne. Bringing the kingdom back to its forr glory. It was a dream far out of reach since she had little to no support.

It was unbelievable before her eyes, her daughter was being crowned queen of a land that never allowed for a princess to beco queen without being sent off to marry a king since a close male relative would be nad king. Mara did not need to marry to claim the throne. She did not need to return to kill soone and take what belonged to her.

It was what Alia always wanted for herself. For a princess to not be raised as a good to be exchanged to end wars or be married off to please one of her father’s allies. Alia didn’t get the throne how she wanted it, but she was happy to see Mara get the support she did not have in her youth.

Gathering the support Mara needed and silencing anyone who doubted her daughter helped Alia to not care about how she ca to be queen. Working with Killian to create an easy path for their daughter and the daughters that would follow for generations made Alia feel fulfilled.

"Queen Bune."

Alia stepped forward to Mara and the priests then lowered her head for her crown to be taken off. The crown was specially made to be passed down to all the future queens of this kingdom. One was made for the future king, but Alia could never get Killian to wear his crown.

The priests carefully took the crown from Alia’s head and placed it on Mara’s head. "Today we mark a new beginning. A new rule under Queen Mara Bune. May your years as queen continue to bless us just as those before you did. All hail Queen Mara Bune."

Mara lifted her head and walked past the priest to get to the throne. She slowly turned when she reached the top and was welcod by chants of her na, clapping, and praises as the kingdom welcod the new queen. All nervousness she felt vanished as she felt motivated by her people giving her a grand welco.

Mara sat down on the throne which she had great mories in the past from sitting on her mother’s lap as a child, watching how a queen ruled. To sit here as queen after sotis accompanying her mother felt surreal. Ti certainly flew by fast as her mother said.

Alia clapped for Mara as she and Killian walked up to the throne. She kept an eye on Killian to see if she would catch him trying to hide his tears. "All hail Queen Mara Bune!" She cheered.

"Queen Mara Bune!" The crowd cheered with Alia.

"You were right, mother. Father is the first to cry," Mara noticed. She stood up to hug her father once again and was ready to greet her siblings who were already running up to the throne to properly congratulate her.
