Chapter 345: Chapter 345
"Ready?"
"No," Alia shook her head. "But I am not going to turn back now after we spent months planning for this. Just hold my hand for now."
Killian held Alia’s hand as she wanted to help calm her nerves. It was scary to turn from a human to demon, but she was handling it quite well. "It will be over fast and you will be unconscious for most of it. When you wake up, you will get to see Mara."
"No. When I wake up I want to make sure everything is fine before I go near our daughter. You are to not bring her near
until it is for certain that the change has gone right. Now I know exactly how my mother felt to stay away instead of telling
she was alive. Let’s get this started now so I can see Mara soon," Alia said, taking a deep breath to get rid of her fears.
Alia and Killian returned to the north in the middle of the night, to start the ritual that would turn her into a demon. Mara stayed with Anne and everyone else in the Blackwell castle while they were here in the north. There was a risk of Alia not handling the change well so Mara was to stay far away from Alia for now.
Alia stared at the large door of the room picked to perform the ritual. "Why couldn’t Lucifer just snap his fingers and make
a demon? Why did we need to do so much preparation?" Alia asked.
She would have expected the devil to be able to just turn anyone into a demon at his will.
"The other Gods feared there would be too many demons created so there is an oath Lucifer took to not be able to just snap his finger and make as many demons as he likes. It needs to be a ritual and Lucifer doesn’t like preparing to do it so it is not done often."
"It is only easy for him and many demons to place demons in a human’s body after they just died. It is the trick your grandmothers used to bring back your mother," Killian explained, pushing open the door for Alia to go inside.
Alia slowly entered the room, taking in the strange markings all over the room and Lucifer standing in the middle of the room, waiting for her. "Is that blood?" She questioned, looking at a tub in front of Lucifer full of sothing red.
"It is wine," Lucifer answered, dipping his finger in it. "If you want to ignore that it is blood. I made sure to get the best of the best blood for you. No need to thank ."
"I won’t thank you. I will think of it as wine so this won’t bother
as long as I do not have to drink it," Alia said, looking to Killian for assurance that she wouldn’t have to drink the blood of soone she didn’t know.
"You don’t have to drink any blood," Killian replied.
"Well, not anymore," Lucifer muttered, twirling around his special dagger in his hands. "I found a way to stop having to share my blood whenever I need to turn soone into a demon. You need to get into the blood, Alia."
Killian lifted Alia to place her in the tub of blood.
Alia closed her eyes when her feet touched the blood first. It was a strange feeling that was far from sitting in water when she was bathing. She would have rather been blindfolded and not told what she was sitting in.
As she beca fully seated in the tub, she felt things under or floating around in the blood. Alia kept her eyes closed so she would not be tempted to hop out of the tub since there was no turning back now.
"I can feel your fear, Alia. Before I start this, do you two want to consider
turning Killian into a human-"
"No," Alia quickly turned down the offer. "I will change."
It was a scary experience, but she already made up her mind to do this. Just as becoming queen was her dream, Killian wanted to carry on his bloodline. If Killian decided to change to a human, Mara might need to change and then his dream would not happen. The powerful kind of demon that Killian was would completely end.
"Don’t ntion it again so Killian doesn’t change his mind. I want to do this so you should start now. Ignore the fear. I felt fear when it was nearing ti for Mara to be born, but I didn’t stop," Alia said, shifting around in the tub to get more comfortable. She tried not to guess what was poking at her skin.
"It is not like you could have held the baby in. It would have co out at so point, but you could stop right now. Since you are certain, I will continue," Lucifer replied, putting his hands on her shoulders. "I need you to slide down until all your body is under the blood. Prepare to be there for a while."
"How long will I need to hold my breath for?" Alia asked as she started to go lower into the blood. She gripped the sides of her dress as the blood reached her chin. The thought of it being all over her face made her want to vomit, but she resisted the urge to do it.
Lucifer looked at Killian who clearly failed to tell Alia what was going to happen next. "You see, the goal is to have you stop breathing so the sooner you pass out the better."
"What!" Alia exclaid, letting go of her dress to hold the edge of the tub.
"Oh right. I rember why we don’t tell them about this part. Just trust us, Alia. It will be over soon," Lucifer said, pushing her down into the blood. His human appearance started to peel away now that the ritual was starting.
Despite what Lucifer said, Alia tried to hold her breath as she was pushed down into the blood. Her eyes were squeezed shut to avoid so of the blood getting in her eyes, but she could feel it in other places she did not want it to be.
Lucifer continued to hold her down so she wouldn’t try getting out and in any other situation, she would have been angry with him, but she was thankful he held her down. It was only so long that she could hold her breath and the second she couldn’t hold it any longer, she instinctively tried to get up out of the blood to catch her breath.
Alia tossed and turned, trying to get out of Lucifer’s hold even though she didn’t want to, but she couldn’t control her body and get it to relax. How was anyone able to relax in this mont when they desperately needed air?
Alia opened her mouth without thinking as she could no longer do without trying to breathe. Blood started to fill her mouth now that it was open, silencing the screams of her being horrified by the fact blood was in her mouth. Blood that she had no idea who it once belonged to.
Alia’s hand slipped from the edge of the tub as her body started to feel lighter and relaxed from drowning in the blood. She felt Lucifer’s hands let go of her shoulders, but she was unable to move. She didn’t know if it was because of her lack of air or if Lucifer was doing sothing to keep her still, but she just felt like she was floating.
Her body relaxed even more as the blood filled her mouth and right when Alia felt her body giving in, sothing pierced her chest causing a feeling like she was falling to follow before she finally passed out.
