Chapter 313: Chapter 313

"There is nothing you can say to make

change my mind. You should know as his mother he will always be looking to pick a fight with . I trust letting you leave alone that you will not beco one of my enemies, but I do not trust letting you leave with Fraser. You cannot control him and you are smart to get him close to the throne again. He will stay," Alia said, standing firm on her decision.

If Fraser did or said sothing to get himself killed, it was his own fault. Alia was showing grace by letting him still be alive. She knew Fraser would not be so kind to keep her alive if the roles were reversed, but she did not have to be like him yet.

"I must always fight for my son. He is what he is now because I was forcing him to desire the throne so that I could rule behind him. His soul won’t rest in the underworld, will it?" Beth softly questioned.

"No," Alia honestly answered. Everyone had to be judged in the underworld just as she did now to her people the demons gathered.

Even if Fraser had not done bad to end up being tortured in the underworld, Killian would not let him go without suffering. Alia knew that Killian was only letting her deal with her family in this world while he would deal with their souls in the underworld once they died.

Killian was too calm when it ca to the people she had issues with being dealt with. The only person he had killed for her was Cedric. The priests’ deaths were for his own enjoynt even though she was burned by the holy water.

Fraser had to fear what Killian planned to do more than what she intended to do. Fraser spoke too much in the past to get under her skin and that was how she was going to end their relationship as cousins. By letting him hear that she was now the queen of two lands. Let him hear that she had taken everything that. It was her ti to speak and Fraser was just going to listen this ti.

Beth bitterly smiled as letting Fraser stay in the dungeon was better than letting him die to be tornted in the underworld. Fraser never had any interest in the temple for him to pray and ask one of the Gods to have rcy on him.

It was hard to be told that she needed to leave her son behind even though she knew that it would co to this. How was she to beg Alia to let Fraser be free when it wasn’t that long ago that Fraser was plotting to storm the north to get rid of Alia and Killian? He already made an attempt to kill Killian and had disrespected Alia on nurous occasions.

"Do not beg," Alia said, trying to stop Beth who moved to kneel down on the floor. There was nothing that could be said to change her mind. If she let Fraser go, Killian would just hunt him down to kill him and she wouldn’t be surprised if Killian hid this from her.

"Please," Beth spoke softly with her head down. "I am the one who deserves to be punished for how I raised him. I pushed him onto the throne when I knew he would not make a good king. I was willing to let the kingdom suffer as long as I got to live my dreams. Please, let

take on his punishnts. Let him live on in this world even if it is in the dungeon and I will take his punishnt in the underworld."

Alia looked to her side at her mother. Beth’s love for Fraser to take his place was touching, but she could not allow it. Beth failed to understand that she had a husband who would not forget about Fraser’s actions in the past or his words.

Besides, Alia did not want to abuse her marriage to Killian to ask that Beth be punished and when Fraser died his soul would be free. Even if she could, she did not want to. She hated Fraser. She hated the sight of him and hearing him speak. Her kindness in letting him live for now did not an she forgave all that he said to her.

"You are to live your life and one day be judged for what you have done. Not what Fraser has done-"

"Will your husband allow you to be punished for killing my brother or will you only be free to not suffer like everyone else? You are trying to cleanse this kingdom, but at what point do you take a look in the mirror and admit what you have done? You should set an example by having yourself punished for killing your father," Beth argued.

She didn’t an to pick a fight with Alia, but she was angered that her request to switch places with her son was not being heard. Fraser was this way because of her and she wanted to take his punishnt because of what she created. This was all she could do to have him not suffer because she created a monster inside of him.

"One day, I will be punished, or maybe I won’t because my husband will protect , but I am not scared of what awaits . If I am to be punished, so be it. Before Killian, I always knew that I would not end up in a good place because of the things I have prayed for," Alia confessed.

She rembered that it was her fault that Annabelle lost her child. One of the Gods accepted her prayer and got rid of it. She was to pay for that along with killing her father and so much more.

"I am not a saint and I am far from what the priests thought I would be. Trying to flip this on

won’t have

change my mind about Fraser. It will only make

want to keep you here. Before I seek any punishnt for what I have done, I will make sure this kingdom will once again be great. I will fix what has been wrong for years and then I will step off the throne. Leave now before I have you returned to the dungeon. I do not want to see you begging," Alia said, looking away from Beth.

Beth should walk out of here with her head high. She was partially to bla for how Fraser acted as king, but Alia always saw this side to him as a child. If not Beth, Cedric would have gotten in his head or his jealousy toward Alia being able to stay in the castle while he had to leave would have landed him down this sa path. A king who only cared about looking good.

Anne, on the other hand, peered down at Beth who was still pitiful. If it was up to her, she would have killed Beth along with Fraser. Anne never had any conflict with Beth, but she had seen the way Beth looked at her when she was married to Richard. There was a look of jealousy and hate each ti Beth looked her way.

Anne could never forget how Beth would beco rigid when anyone talked about her and Richard having the future king. Anne knew that Beth wanted her and Richard dead so she would get a chance to feel what it was like to beco queen. The day Beth genuinely smiled at Anne was when it was announced that the child Anne shared with Richard was a girl.

From then on, Beth kept ntioning how special her son was to push Alia out of the way to be picked as the child who would one day sit on the throne. Anne also knew how much Beth enjoyed when there was no news of another child after Alia lasting to rival her long would had a chance to be chosen.

It wasn’t long before Margaret made it permanent that Beth was not to co to the castle unless it was a special occasion.

"I will walk your aunt out," Anne said, standing up from her throne.

She never cared about Beth’s silly plans or looks as long as Beth never tried to touch a single strand of hair on Alia’s head. Beth could have taken the throne for all Anne cared because there were other things to worry about like Margaret and trying to reunite with her mothers.

Alia was curious about why her mother wanted to speak with Beth. She didn’t know much about the two since she rarely saw Beth in the castle in the past and her mother always stayed in her tower. She did not want to disrupt the conversation the two would have and decided to bring Fraser next so he could know his fate.

Beth didn’t like that Anne was going to escort her out of the throne room. She looked up and was startled by the smile Anne wore. She didn’t know if it was because an unfamiliar woman was smiling at her or if she was overthinking that for a second, she had to worry about being alone with Anne.
