Chapter 294: Chapter 294

"Doesn’t this feel like two years ago?" Cordelia asked.

"It does, but it was night at that ti, and we didn’t get to see much of the castle. If not for the priests, you would have let us live here with you, right Anne?" Ramona asked, looking around the large castle. It was much better than the little house they had.

"No, because I did not want to be here. I should have listened to you and not wandered so far from our ho. Then I wouldn’t have t Leonard, and then Richard would not have wanted . The only problem is that I would not have Alia, and I cannot be without my daughter. If I had to do it all over again, I would kill Richard right after I was blessed with Alia," said Anne.

"Was it really a blessing? You had to sleep with a man you didn’t like, and you continued to do it to try having a prince. During that ti, he took other won into his bed to make you jealous. Where do they bury kings? I want to make use of his body. I am sure no one would miss it," Sybil said, planning a potion she could sell for a higher price since it would be made with the bones of a king.

"Can all of you stop talking about other things than finding my daughter? We should split up to cover more of the castle. If you find her, tell her that her mother is here with Sybil. She will not hesitate to co-"

"Absolutely not! We are not letting you out of our sight. You might look human, but if your hunger starts and you start to kill the humans you pass, they will attack you. Think about where a queen would be placed in the middle of this," Ramona said, pointing at the sky.

The queen, even if she was married to a demon, had to be in a safe place.

"The throne room," Anne muttered.

The doors were built to be hard to break down once they were locked from the inside, and not many knew it, but if you moved the throne, there was a secret exit leading out of the castle. It was built in case the castle was ever taken over and the royals needed to be taken sowhere safe if the throne room doors were to be destroyed.

"We are not far from there," Anne said, picking up her dress to run faster.

"I told you we should have raised her to fear humans, and we wouldn’t be having this problem. The girl always runs into trouble. That is how she stumbled up on witches," Cordelia said, still running after Anne.

"But don’t you want to et our granddaughter-"

"She is not your granddaughter, you fools. You are not Anne’s real mother, no matter how many tis you call yourself that. The girl has a grandmother already. You two are just crazy witches who took in a human child. You two are barely just- Wait for !" Sybil yelled, running after the three of them, who were so rude as to not let her finish her words.

Anne didn’t hear a word that was coming out of the witch’s mouth. She was focused on running to the throne room and seeing Alia after being apart for so long. Her emotions could not settle down until she saw and held Alia. There was so much she regretted not telling Alia before she died, and she disliked not seeing Alia dressed up as a beautiful bride.

Since Richard lacked as a father, she had to step up to give Alia the love she missed. Anne knew her ti in the castle would end when Margaret started to question her about witches. She did not have enough ti to tell Alia about the witches and where to find them. If Alia ever wanted to get away from the castle, the witches would have cared for her.

"The door is still open," Anne said in relief. It was wide open, and from where she ran, she could see familiar faces inside, but not the one she was looking for.

Anne slowed down since there were demons outside of the throne room. They would not let her or any of the witches inside. She would need to yell for Alia to co out. Before Anne could stop to think of a way to get Alia’s attention, the sound of wings flapping was heard, and a demon appeared before her.

"So you are the one with the awful sll," Alastor said, peering down at Anne. He had sensed sothing with a terrible sll and flew around the castle looking for it. It was worse than any of the demons around the castle. "You are dead. You reek of death, so what is a corpse doing walking around the castle with witches?"

Cordelia and Ramona stepped in front of Anne to block her from the demon.

"She has every right to be here. This was her ho, and she has important matters to deal with, so get out of our way before you find yourself small and green," Ramona warned.

"Settle down. I have seen this one around the man who married your daughter, Anne. Get him to take you to her so we can get out of here right now. Wait, where are the most dead bodies?" Sybil asked, rembering the treasure that awaited her.

"You are Anne?" Alastor asked, taking a closer look at Anne to find similarities between her and Alia. "You do not look like the queen."

"This is not my original body. I am making use of it to hold my soul. If you are close to my daughter’s husband, then that ans you must be willing to take

to her. Please," Anne pleaded.

Alastor had no intention of leading her to Alia. She did not sll good, and there was sothing off about her that he sensed. Taking a corpse to a human wasn’t a good idea, even if this was Alia’s mother. Alia would have to make the decision to go to her mother, so Killian could not get upset with anyone for putting her in danger.

"The queen is dealing with a matter in the town, so it would be best for you to wait for her in the throne room. I hope that you are aware that you pose a threat to your daughter because of what you are. The queen of hell will kill you with no hesitation if you try to harm your daughter. Even if it is because you cannot control yourself," Alastor said.

He offered her the chance to turn back and wait for Killian to be back by Alia’s side and stop her from harming Alia without having to kill her.

"I will take the risk. I will never harm my daughter. We will all wait inside the throne room. There is a woman nad Margaret. Alia’s grandmother. Do you know where she is?" Anne inquired. While Alia was not around, she would deal with Margaret. Let her see that the woman she let die was back.

"She is in the throne room. Let them in," Alastor ordered the demons guarding the throne room to make sure no one escaped. He had to go back to the town with Alia and Liltih, so he flapped his wings to start flying again.

"If you see any dead demons with their wings out, point

to them right away," Sybil muttered.

Ramona held Anne’s hand as they walked into the throne room. She worried, not because of how the mother and daughter reunion would go but because of the mories that would co flooding back to Anne’s mind.

Anne was not happy during her ti as queen, and being here would have her et the people who made her life miserable.

There was one particular woman that Ramona and Cordelia were here to deal with for taking part in Anne’s death.

Anne squeezed Ramona’s hand as she entered the throne room. She envisioned herself sitting quietly on the throne beside Richard. It felt like yesterday she was here, having the crown placed on her head and being nad queen.

She noticed Beth standing with Fraser, who had grown taller since the last ti she saw him. Word of him troubling Alia reached her ears. It had always been this way since Beth forced her way into the castle to make Fraser the next king. There wasn’t much Anne wanted to do with the mother and son. They would soon be sent out of the castle.

The people Anne wanted to drop dead stood together. Margaret and the n of the court. Her husband’s old followers who never told him when he was doing wrong because they benefited from it.

Anne walked straight to Margaret, the thought of Margaret’s betrayal filling her with anger with each step. Without thinking about it, her hand moved on its own to rise and then co down to connect with Margaret’s cheek. She wished she had a knife to stab Margaret instead of settling for a slap.

The throne room filled with gasps at the sight of Margaret standing with her eyes wide open.

"How dare you try to use my daughter?"
