Chapter 227: Chapter 227
"As Lucifer said, you have not given
ti to prove myself. Give
a month to prove myself," Alia suggested.
"A month is quite long," Agramon replied
"Not to demons," Alia retorted, walking down the steps to where Killian stood. "Ti doesn’t matter to demons. I could have picked a year but I have enough faith in myself to pick a month."
Agramon scowled but it was an opportunity to get rid of her without having to dirty his hands. "And what happens when you cannot prove yourself?"
"I will step down from Queen. I also believe that anyone who is not fit should sit on a throne," Alia said, aning every word that left her mouth. If she was not a good Queen to the people in the north, she had enough principles to get off the throne as the people needed soone who could properly lead the kingdom.
"That sounds fair. I expect that Agramon won’t ddle in Alia’s attempts to prove herself. If there is evidence of you getting in her way, I shall have you dragged back down into the underworld, and banished from this world. I have better things to do than listen to you and Killian bicker. One month," Lucifer looked at Alia. Her fuming husband beside her wasn’t pleased, but then again, when was Killian ever pleased?
Lucifer had a feeling that if Alia had not done sothing worthy in Agramon’s eyes, Killian would not let her step down from Queen and choose to kill Agramon instead. Either way, the problem would be solved for Lucifer. "Can we continue or does soone else have sothing they want to interrupt with?" He asked the crowd. "No? Splendid. Calm down before you ruin her day," Lucifer whispered to Killian.
It was hard to ignore the concern written all over Alia’s face.
’And they say the devil is a cruel man,’ Lucifer thought. He was always the peacemaker.
Killian glared at Agramon who he could just kill right now and get this over with. Leave it to Agramon to wait until now to stir up trouble.
"Killian!" Alia called him before he could do sothing. He was silent but she had a feeling he was thinking about attacking Agramon. Even if they got rid of Agramon now, there was still a throne room full of demons who wanted to see her prove herself. She had a lot of convincing to do.
"Back down, Killian. Your second master is calling you. She’s more useful than I thought," Agramon smiled as he had good plans in mind for Alia. Now, Killian had a weakness. In a month, the north would have a new King and he would be the one to lead the devil’s army around the world.
Alia watched as Killian’s nails turned dark and grew longer. They dug into his skin to the point blood started to drip from them. "I’m sorry, but I need a mont alone with Killian. Do you mind keeping the crowd entertained for a mont?" She asked Lucifer. Alia wanted to take Killian off to the side to calm him down before they continued.
"Sure. Order the devil around like it’s no big deal. Everyone does it," Lucifer muttered.
"She was asking you for help, not ordering you around. We will take over until the two of you get back. Go on," Lilith said, tugging on her husband’s arm as a warning.
"Thank you, Lilith. Step outside with
for a mont," Alia said to Killian. She half expected him to not hear a word she said because of his anger but Killian walked ahead with her out of the throne room. Countless eyes were on them as they left the throne room but Alia did not mind them. She was more concerned about Killian releasing his anger so this would not continue for the rest of the day.
Alia walked with Killian far away from the throne room where no demons were gathered.
"I should start with the fact that my day isn’t ruined. A day like this doesn’t feel normal if it doesn’t have conflict. I felt right at ho with this and I am glad you didn’t lay a hand on Agramon. I have a feeling you also know it wouldn’t have been good for you to attack him there. I’m starting to get the feeling he hasn’t openly attacked you because he wants you to attack him first. Why? My mind hasn’t worked that out yet," Alia touched her head.
"You don’t have to make any deals with Agramon. This is my castle. If he wants it, he’ll have to kill
with his two hands to have it. Not like that would ever happen. You don’t have to go through with this one-month deal. There will be no other Queen of the north," said Killian.
"I want to go through with it. I want to prove that I can rule. I’ve had my doubts about other rulers and wanted them to prove themselves just like everyone in there wants
to do. I have no issue with it. I was a princess who sat in a castle and had no involvent in the affairs of the kingdom. I am married to a well-known warrior and I can’t even hold a weapon. You are a strong creature and I am just a weak human. I would have my doubts too," Alia said, understanding the feelings of everyone else.
"It doesn’t help that I am a Blackwell. We’ve been trying to claim the north for a long ti and even stole so of your people. I want to prove myself," Alia touched Killian’s arm. "Not just to everyone but to . I want to feel like I did all of this for sothing. That I can be a good Queen. I don’t need you to kill everyone who doesn’t like my presence. Sotis I really enjoy that others are ticked off by my presence," Alia joked.
"Fine," Killian decided to go along with it. Since it was what she wanted he could put up with it. "But I am still going to kill that bastard one of these days."
"I am sure you will. I have a favor to ask. Do you mind finding
a witch doctor?" Alia asked.
