Chapter 185: Chapter 185
"I was worried about you for no reason. You are the sa as the day you left. I take it Killian treats you well," Leonard said.
"He does. I feel safer with him as opposed to many of the people here. He is not like we have thought but then again, the information the castle had about the north and its king is not available to everyone. No one will ever be able to replace you in the castle but I am glad you are free from that life. Do you know if sothing happened between Fraser and my grandmother?" Alia asked since she had not gotten an answer from her grandmother.
"Outside of her scolding him for not attending his lessons, there is nothing that I am aware of. Were you told sothing happened between the two?"
Alia didn’t have to be told sothing was off to know sothing happened between the two. When Fraser joined the group the air changed and then there was Margaret not referring to Fraser as her grandson. "Leonard, after the many years you were in the castle, what do you think of my grandmother? Honestly."
Leonard didn’t understand Alia’s sudden curiosity about her grandmother and Fraser. "She is a spectacular woman. She is oftentis underestimated because of her age now and in the past, her gender. She is not a woman I want to offend. I had my fair share of threats from her- Nevermind," Leonard paused as he was getting too far into the past.
There were many things from the past when her mother was still alive that Alia should not know. It would change the way she viewed certain people. Life in the castle was crueler in those days than it was now.
"You people and all your secrets. If you don’t want
to find out that you and my grandmother were once at odds, you should do better to hide it. Perhaps I should keep an eye on her," Alia said, looking over to where her grandmother sat. She didn’t think Margaret did anything bad in regard to her but it was best to take notice of the things she did to others.
"I wouldn’t poke around too much in the past. You have a new life right now. I hope you can forget about the Blackwells and enjoy your life as queen of the north. You have worried about your cousin, his family, the court, and everyone else for too many years. Do not let it block your newfound happiness," Leonard said.
"I won’t but I will still think of the wellbeing of the people of the kingdom. I wish there weren’t any thoughts of you potentially being my father. I would have loved having the father and daughter dance with you. You were like a second father to
all these years. It was nice catching up with you but now I must find where Killian has run off to," Alia stated, looking around for where he ran off to while she was left to deal with the guest.
"You just want to get away from the guest," Leonard chuckled, seeing right through Alia.
"And I can’t do that if I keep standing here speaking to you," she whispered, moving away from his side before one of the n from the court approached them.
She dealt with enough foolishness from the mont the wedding started. Alia was in desperate need of a mont alone so she could get through the rest of the day. She was also curious about why Killian had suddenly needed to speak with Alastor.
Alia left where all the guests had gathered and went in the direction of where Killian had wandered off to. Cyrus had caught up with her and Edith now that she was away from where the other guards could see her.
Alia took a deep breath, enjoying the fresh air and the peace she got to enjoy now that she was sowhat alone. She couldn’t wait for the mont she and Killian would get to go ho.
"You should eat sothing," Cyrus said after he heard her stomach indicating she was in need of food.
"Sure but you need to double check there is nothing wrong with it. Maybe I am being a little bit paranoid but I don’t want to take any risks. Bring sothing for
and for yourself. When you are done eating Edith will have her break. Did you see where Killian has run off to-"
"Miss your dear husband already?" Killian asked, appearing in front of Alia.
Alia looked around to make sure there was no one to see what Killian had just done. "That was a bit reckless don’t you think? Even though we have left the guests there is still at least one person who will be nosy and follow us to see what we are doing. You are so carefree and it will lead to you being exposed," Alia sighed.
Killian shrugged, not caring if soone were to see him. He reached the point in his life where he could hardly wait for humans to find out about his kind so he could watch them panic as their egos fell. "You worry too much," he said.
"And you worry too little," Alia replied. Why was she more concerned about breaking a rule demons had to follow which was not to expose themselves when Killian was so lax? "I won’t stress myself about it if you aren’t. Now tell , what was it Alastor wanted to tell you? Sothing is wrong, right?"
"Nothing gets past your eyes. Leave us," Killian ordered Edith and Cyrus.
Edith imdiately left with no questions asked while Cyrus hesitated but left soon after.
"It was Agramon. Alastor sensed that he was near but his presence disappeared when I tried searching for him. It is not a surprise Agramon would try showing up to ruin the wedding. It is more surprising he did not try to ruin it the day before. He is plotting sothing but today will not be ruined. Now that you know, are you ready to go back to the guests or do you want to stay here?" Killian asked, hoping it was the latter.
The humans attending their wedding were hardly entertaining. They were the irritating type that he would love to kill. He added a few others to the list of people he wanted to kill for disrespecting Alia.
"I want to stay out here with you a little longer," Alia replied, liking the peace that had fallen upon them. "If possible, we should keep hiding until it is ti for the truce."
