Chapter 125: Chapter 125
The day quickly went by much to Alia’s dismay. It was now ti for her to leave everything she knew behind and start a new life in the north. She had said all of her goodbyes and wrote letters to those she would not have ti to et with. As her grandmother said, goodbyes were not forever so she would not spend the rest of her life away from the Blackwell castle.
With Gina traveling to the north, Alia had a conversation with Margaret to be in charge of the hos she had bought.
"Are you second-guessing it now that the mont has co? I would let you stay and not attack the castle if that is what you desire," Killian said, truly aning every word of it.
"Now you say that at the very last minute when everything is packed up. I’ve already prepared myself to leave so there is no point in turning back now. Besides, I want to sit on a throne more than anything and there are too many factors here stopping
from ruling over the Blackwell kingdom. I will use the north to prove the people here wrong. I want to be a good queen. Still, let’s leave no before my heart has a conflict with what my mind is thinking," said Alia.
"Either that or the crowd by the gate will destroy the carriage and hide you away from . Who was the bright person to announce the day that we are departing-"
"Goodbye, cousin!" Fraser interrupted Killian.
"There is your answer," Alia whispered to Killian. She wholeheartedly enjoyed the annoyed expression he wore and even though she couldn’t read minds. Alia had a feeling Killian was deeply regretting not killing Fraser and even worse, letting him beco king. ’When Fraser being king backfires I hope Killian rembers that it is all his fault,’ she thought.
"Goodbye to you too, Cousin," Alia gave a short goodbye. She had nothing much to say to Fraser as she did with everyone else since the two of them were not that close.
As Loki walked by to get in the carriage she would be using, Alia followed behind the big wolf to avoid having to speak with Fraser so more. Before she could enter the carriage, Alia spotted Cyrus and Jahi standing by two horses given to them by Killian to travel back to the north. She contemplated going over to have a quick chat before the journey would start but decided against it since Jahi did not like her. There was no need to start off the trip with attitudes.
Alia entered the carriage right behind Loki and froze when she saw the white wolf spread across one seat. She started to trust Loki who just liked to laze around and eat but Alia did not know what to make of the white wolf as yet. She kept her distance from Asura by sitting on the opposite side with Loki.
"He talks too fucking much," Killian cursed under his breath as he entered the carriage. Fraser had plenty to say now unlike when he was ant to stay and talk at the truce eting. "I am going to kill him sooner than I intended to. No offense."
Alia shrugged. "Tell that to his mother, not . There’s been plenty of tis I would have taken out my cousin if I could have but that’s just how a family is. I’ve dealt with Fraser annoying
for years so one day I want to strangle him and then other days I just pity his stupidity. You’ll get used to it soon since he will be your family," she added to tease Killian."
"It’ll be a cold day in the underworld before I consider him to be my family. I’d love to bring him to the north and throw him into the hole which leads to the underworld. What a sight it would be to watch the hellhounds tear him apart and the grimms take his soul," Killian chuckled as he petted Asura.
Alia didn’t know how to take his entertainnt in wanting to toss soone into the underworld. She hoped she would never see this hole Killian was speaking of. She was grateful she had Loki on her side instead of Asura who was just as entertained as Killian by the ntion of the underworld.
Alia cautiously petted Loki’s head but quickly retreated her hand when he turned to look at her. A mont of silence passed between the two before Loki closed his eyes and rested his head against the cushion on the seat. Alia took it as if he did not want to be touched right now and would respect his wishes so she could keep her fingers.
As long as she paid attention to his behavior, she would not have to worry about losing a finger or hand.
"Loki, do not be rude. I know you get jealous when I pet Asura and now that you have soone who will pet you, you are being rude to them. Where do you get this temper from?" Killian asked.
"I wouldn’t be surprised if he gets it from his forr master or maybe his mother. Do they have mothers?" Alia asked since she didn’t know how the whole hellhound thing worked.
"They do but their mothers are not like what you would expect."
Alia begged to differ. "Oh, I think they are quite like what I am imagining. I have not forgotten they are from the underworld so their mother wouldn’t be too nice. Are mothers the type to abandon their young right after they were born?"
"They are more of the run before I get hungry and eat you. Hellhounds will tear apart anything they find, even their young depending on the mood. It is best for the pups to learn how to walk quickly and leave with their siblings who will be their pack. I found Asura and Loki alone when they were young so most likely their siblings must have died," Killian explained.
"Do not hold such a sad expression for the two of them. They have killed many creatures and humans in their lifeti. Asura will one day leave
and have so pups. That one over there might try to kill ," Killian pointed at Loki. "It took a while for you to get used to having a wolf around so I suppose seeing their real form might give you a heart attack."
Alia glanced at Loki who was already scary as a wolf. The carriage jolted forward as the journey to the north started. This scared Alia causing a jab in her chest and her breathing to quicken as she thought the wolf had suddenly done sothing. Alia placed her hand on her chest to calm her heart and then asked, "What do they look like?"
"I’d rather not scare you and let you see firsthand when we enter the north. They do not always appear as wolves in the north. I am sure you will be fine," Killian reassured her but his sly smile made Alia believe otherwise.
"It is alright with
if they want to remain as wolves. Hopefully, whenever they look different I am not around," Alia muttered.
As the carriage passed the castle gates, Alia looked out the window to wave goodbye at the people who had gathered. So were waving goodbye, crying for her to stay, and so looked as if they were yelling insults at the northerners. She felt bad Killian and all the other northerners were receiving this treatnt as they were leaving.
"I’m sorry. Not everyone has ward up to this yet," Alia apologized.
"Why are you apologizing on their behalf? I would find it weird if they were to be comfortable with all of this so soon," Killian replied, taking no offense to what so people in the crowd were shouting. If he were to stop the carriage and step out now, they would all get quiet and not say anything to his face. He rarely took those types of people seriously.
"I should prepare myself for this type of treatnt when we reach the north. Is that the reason why you planned to fly
to the north?" Alia now rembered what he told her. "If you are trying to make
avoid any stares or judgnt your people will have, you don’t have to do that. It is not fair for you to go through this but not ."
"Sounds like you are starting to love ."
Alia rolled her eyes at his delusion. "Of course not. It just ans that I have a heart. I want things to be fair between us. Make a ntal note of that for the future. You don’t have to shield
every day from what your people will have to say about . I can handle it and I will use it as motivation to show why I am fit to be their queen."
"With that little weapon in your hair I am sure you can handle them yourself," Killian called out the weapon Alia had placed in her hair. He found it amusing how she looked at him now like it was supposed to be a secret.
