Chapter 123: Chapter 123 frёeωeb??ovel
Her marriage to Killian ant she could no longer be on Blackwell’s side. She had two kingdoms to care for and though she was Blackwell royalty, she would not place this kingdom higher than the north. In her new life as queen of the north, there will be people she cares for and it would be a big betrayal if she allowed Fraser or anyone else to harm them.
Clearly, Fraser did not get the notice to grow up and not be so childish.
Fraser made a ntal note to rember what Alia chose. Not like he wanted her to be on his side anyway. If he were to attack the north as a precaution to ensure they do not attack this castle again, he would prefer for Alia to die there. After their grandmother died, he would be the only Blackwell left. If he was generous enough, his mother could change back her last na even though she is married.
Margaret felt proud of her granddaughter. She always knew Alia would be a great ruler one day even if she did not sit on the throne here. All Alia needed was soone in the north to help guide her and she would blossom to be a queen rembered in history books.
"Moving on. I recomnd that our two kingdoms trade with each other. There are items in the north that we cannot get here and vice versa. We have many festivals here in this kingdom so maybe once a year we can have a festival to celebrate the truce. Both kingdoms would profit from it," said Alia.
It was a good way to make the two sides bond with each other.
Everyone else agreed with Alia’s suggestion.
"I have more suggestions but it is only fair that everyone else gets a chance to share their suggestions. Who would like to take over now?" Alia opened the floor for anyone else to speak.
It was not surprising when Fraser cleared his throat and sat up straight. "I have quite a few things I need the north to be on board with. Should the Blackwell kingdom ever find itself on the verge of war with another kingdom, it is expected for the north to lend us so of their finest warriors and-"
"No," Killian rejected the suggestion before Fraser could finish. The north only fought in wars if they desperately needed to. The north did not go picking fights with anyone and preferred to stay out of fights concerning other kingdoms.
During his lifeti, Killian had witnessed many tis how the Blackwells and other lands engaged in pointless fights. He was not going to send his n to aid wars Fraser would most likely start. If the north was always there to fight Fraser’s battle it was clear the young fool would keep picking more fights.
"No?" Fraser repeated the word since he did not believe Killian had the audacity to turn down what he wanted so fast. "The north and Blackwells will be united when the two of you get married. It is expected of you to lend a hand to help us in a future conflict."
"Do not go looking for conflict. If soone picks a fight with your kingdom and you are losing the battle, the north will consider joining. However, if you pick a fight you cannot win, the north will not help you. Learn when to speak and when to shut your mouth. It is a skill the previous king lacked and it cost his life," said Killian.
"Alia," Fraser looked to his cousin for help. "I am putting faith in you to have stated the north will back us in any conflicts we have in the future."
Fraser started to flip through the pages of the truce to find where this was ntioned but found nothing. How could Alia be so stupid to forget sothing so important?
"It is sothing I considered but knew would not happen. I did so research in the library about past wars and the north was rarely ntioned as getting involved in fights. King Killian was given the na war demon from two single fights he won. This is the first ti in five years that northerners have co down to our land to fight and we started it. Our kingdom has had fights each year-"
"Alia," Fraser smacked his face out of disbelief. It was hard to fathom how she had taken up for the north already.
"Do not Alia . We need to stop picking fights constantly. My father went up against anyone who did not share the sa opinions as him or wished to bow to him. It is ti we have a good relationship with those around us before they band together against us. I think it is a fair deal that if you start sothing you will be responsible for it. Our goal should be to avoid fights at all costs," Alia said but as she noticed Fraser roll his head she knew none of this was getting through to him.
This was why it was so hard for her to get along with him but she was trying hard to be cordial since the two kingdoms’ royalty needed to be able to communicate with each other. Alia at tis wished Killian had not wanted to marry her and chose her to be the royalty he found reasonable to sit on the throne.
"The Blackwell kingdom will have a new kingdom so it would be a perfect opportunity for you to show other royalty that the kingdom is turning over a new leaf and wish to start over. That is the only way to repair the bad relationship my father left us with," Alia stated.
Fraser did not want to go around apologizing to anyone for things done in the past. Then other kings would view him as weak. He wanted to show right out of the gate that he was a king ant to be feared more than his uncle was. "I think it’s ti we take a break until the official eting with the n of the court. This is a waste," Fraser said, then excused himself from the room.
There was no one here to back him up as the trio was being biased contrary to what they stated.
Alia sighed, deeply annoyed with Fraser leaving when the four of them could have continued to talk this through. The eting could not continue without Fraser present and if they dragged him back, he would only act like a fool. "This truce eting is over earlier than I expected but we have a start on what both sides want. I will add the changes before the day we are supposed to et. We can all go our separate ways."
"If not for being immortal, a mont like this would annoy ," Killian said as he stood up. He had ti to waste but not like this. It was irritating for Fraser to storm out and waste his ti when he needed to be overwatching what was being taken back to the north.
"How do you think this old girl feels after having to walk all the way here? At least it gives
more ti to spend with my granddaughter before she leaves. If only you could stay until it was ti for the wedding. Co with , child. I have so gifts for you," Margaret said to Alia.
Margaret had been waiting for Alia to not be busy to finally give her what had been delivered to keep Alia safe in the north. She would not let Alia go to the north without a weapon strong enough to protect herself. "Thank you," Margaret said when Killian ca to her side to help her up. "With a strong young man like you by my side, I feel much older. Got any special stuff in the north to make
feel or look younger?"
"A descendant of a priest would want sothing from the north?" Killian stated as he was aware of her background.
"Tis have changed since my granddaughter is marrying you. I’ll have to deal with many of my relatives being against it once they finally reach the castle. So might call
crazy for allowing this union to happen or try kicking
out of the family so I should at least receive a youth spell or sothing. I am far from being like many of my relatives. Besides, they should be more concerned about the temple in the castle."
"Have they still not co out yet? They might not be alive at this point unless they are eating the food brought as offerings to the temple. I would love to see them forced out of the temple before I leave. How are priests who are ant to protect this land from people like Killian still hiding away?" Alia shook her head.
"They will be dealt with soon. Take
back to my room, Alia. We have a long goodbye to get out of the way," said Margaret.
