Chapter 119: Chapter 119

"You did not need to follow

back to my room," Alia muttered.

"Now that you no longer have a guard, I will keep an eye on you until I find one of my n who will be fit to guard you. The last one completely gave up and never went back to guarding you. I almost strangled him when I learned he abandoned my order."

"I have a guard," Alia told Killian as they walked back to her room after dinner. "He is just busy tending to Jahi. I knew he would be busy once he found her so I am fine with it and do not need a guard for now. Tomorrow is my last day here. I will be around my grandmother and you for the most part so there is no need for a guard."

Killian disagreed with her. "Just because the castle has been peaceful does not an you don’t need to be without a guard. I still see many people wanting to hurt you."

"I don’t think that the castle is peaceful, I just plan to be around everyone tomorrow so there is no need for a personal guard. I’m sure all of your n are looking forward to going ho and would not want to be looking after a princess they have not yet ward up to," said Alia.

All she needed to do was be in soone she trusted line of sight and she would be fine. Right now, the looks she received from many of the northerners who still hated her family made her want to stay away for a while. Alia expected that once they were back in the north they would stop being so tense and angry to get to know her better.

"I feel like you are always watching

know when I am in danger. Why would I need a personal guard when I have you?" Alia asked.

The corners of Killian’s lips curled upon hearing her confession. At first, he thought Alia was being too careless with her life but now he knew she was expecting him to be keeping an eye on her. Nothing good happened to her while he was present in the castle. He always paid attention to her presence and showed up when he felt sothing odd.

"I see," Killian replied.

"You can assign

a guard if I have to go anywhere. The people here won’t try hurting

just yet considering I am the only thing stopping you from attacking the castle. If anything, I expect them to try harming both of us on the way back to the north. It would be considered a small casualty if I die along with you," Alia rolled her eyes as the words left her mouth. "I’ve survived in this castle long before you or Cyrus arrived so I know how to avoid being killed and be able to predict actions."

Alia continued to say, "If you are so concerned and do not trust I can watch over myself, you just need to stick by my side tomorrow. We will be attending breakfast and then going right to the truce eting. I will only be visiting my grandmother right after and have nothing to do for the rest of the day. As long as you are free, we can get to know each other more."

"Unfortunately, there is much for

to oversee since Alastor is complaining I have been pushing all the work unto him. Maybe I should assign him to guard you-"

’No!" Alia exclaid as the last person she wanted to be by her side was Alastor. "I will see if Cyrus does not mind being by my side tomorrow."

She did not want to bother Cyrus but she would rather get down on her knees and beg Cyrus to be with her for a little while than have Alastor. Alia could not promise she would not attempt to kill the man if he had any sly comnts.

"He is busy with the woman he found today. Quite an interesting character, isn’t she?"

"I can feel the humor in your voice because you noticed her dislike toward . I expected it and I am not offended for now. It is expected that anyone rescued from your side would dislike . I am just hoping this anger can disappear quickly before I lose a friend. Co here," Alia motioned for Killian to co closer. "Did you hear anything important when they were talking?"

Killian was amused like always that she expected him to be listening to Cyrus’s conversation because he did that. "Information like that never cos without a price."

Alia glared at Killian for trying to get sothing out of this when he could simply tell her. "Forget it," she said, then looked around at the almost-empty hall. "Please walk away but do whatever it is you do to appear in my room. I need help falling asleep. Make sure no one sees you."

"Right," Killian replied.

He watched Alia open her bedroom door and stepped inside, bidding him goodbye before she closed it. Yet again he could say there was never a dull mont when she was near him. Killian walked away from her door as she requested and vanished into thin air when he found a space.

Killian appeared in Alia’s room right as she was unbuttoning her dress. "In ti for a show," he sat down in one of her chairs and placed one leg over the other.

Alia was stunned by him being here already. She figured he would have waited a little bit before coming to her. "You know," she gripped what was unbuttoned to hide her body from Killian. "When I said then co back, I ant a little later. I needed to get dressed for bed. Did you think I would sleep in this dress I wore to dinner?"

Killian rested his head against his head and said, "You should have been specific. Continue with getting dressed. It does not bother ."

"Uh huh," Alia proceeded to walk to her closet. "Just so you know, I expect us to be in separate rooms before we get married. I don’t trust what you might do before the wedding because it seems like you are hellbent on being too close to

way too soon."

"I recall that you were the one to reach up and kiss

today. Denial is not good for you, princess. You are the one with wild thoughts running through your mind," said Killian.

"Can you read my mind?" Alia exclaid from inside the closet.

"No. It is evident by your facial expressions when I am around and your big mouth. I overheard what you and your maid were talking about. I am always ready to assist with whatever you are curious about."

"I am sure you are," he heard Alia mutter from the closet. If she wanted privacy, she should consider letting him use a witch to place spells on her door or other things so no demon could overhear her conversation.

Killian tapped his finger on the edge of the chair impatiently waiting for her to return. "The night is a little bit too cold for a coat, isn’t it?" He asked with a hint of disappointnt in his voice.

Killian didn’t know how much longer he could wait for Alia to beco bolder. He watched as she walked out of the closet with a triumphant look because of the coat she wore over her night dress. She would be the one to lose out later as she would be sweating in her sleep. Once he knocked her out, she wouldn’t be able to get back up to take off the coat.

"Let’s get this over with quickly so I can get you out of my room," Alia said as she sat down on her bed and then laid down, pulling the sheets up to her neck.

Killian stood up from the chair and sighed. "You are acting like I would attack you, Alia. I do not need to force you to show

your body or be intimate with . I only seek to guide you to step away from these ridiculous rules you have here. Married couples are not the only ones allowed to show intimacy. I don’t see why a woman’s reputation should be tarnished for showing her clear interest in a man."

"That is the way it has been over here for who knows how long. You might be old enough to know," Alia cheekily smiled. She could not stop thinking of him as her old husband. "Exactly how old are you-"

"I hear many tis you should not ask a woman her age so why can’t the sa rules apply to n? If I tell you my age I will have to suffer through your horrible old man jokes. I will save myself and not tell you the exact number. Now, good night," he touched her forehead, causing her eyes to close.
