Thorne
This was a fucking ss. My head was about to explode with all the drama that I have been forced to tolerate in a day. Why couldn’t I have peace for once, and why did the moon goddess had to pair with soone I had to baby-sit all the ti, and the worst was that she threw tantrums?
I felt my wolf howl in anger at my choice of words, but I couldn’t bring myself to apologise to him. Josie was cute and all, but she was a fucking headache. A liability that I didn’t even want to begin with, not after everything that I had been through in my life.
"Are you seriously going to glare at the wall, or you’re going to have the decency to talk to , eh?" Varen annoyingly piped up.
I turned to face him, feeling my anger push to the seams. I was not in the mood for his crap. All these wouldn’t have happened if he had actually kept his date in check, and now, he was acting like a deer stuck in headlights. He rose his brow at , actually thinking that I would rise to his bait. He surely hasn’t known so well.
I flicked my wrist, as I growled out the words, "Get the party, and call the whole thing off. And, make sure that the excited party goers don’t bleed their crap into the main pack, got it," I snapped. He stared at .
"I asked you sothing Varen. Use your damn words, and yes, when you find Kiel, get his ass down at my office."
"Did you just talk to like I’m one of your maids?"
I sighed. "I never saw you wearing the uniform, Varen." I snapped in frustration. "Look, I don’t have the ti for all these, just do as I said, ok?"
He clicked his tongue, his blue-eyes were shimring with rage. I honestly couldn’t care less if his fragile ego was hurt, and I needed him to start moving, but he was still standing there like a complete idiot.
"Thorne, I understand that you’re in a mood, but I want to be spoken to with respect, do you understand that?"
I smirked. "Sorry, I have zero fucks to give to you. If you wished to be respected, then, you shouldn’t have made Josie sad, right?"
I could see the tick in hiss jaw and I knew I struck a nerve. That would have given joy on other days, but now, it just made feel more bereft. Combing a hand through my sleek redhead, I turned to the door, but then, I heard a crash.
My gait stopped mid-air, and my eyes widened in shock. This was Varen, he never got mad for once, but now, he was. I slowly turned around to face him, and watched as his chest rose up and down in pain, as though he was controlling his beast. He looked at , and I could see the pools of sadness in his eyes.
"It’s so easy for you to act like I’m the one who hurt our mate, when you know that you broke her tonight with your choice of words. Do you feel good about yourself lying that you’re the best of us three?"
"Oh, please," I said in disbelief, my anger returning in folds. "You were the one who actually expanded how weak she was, and you know it. So, how co I’m the bad guy, hm?"
"You’re just..."
I rose my hand, cutting him off. "I don’t have the ti for this. Just get Kiel, ok? We can argue all you want late, but get Kiel here. And, I would appreciate if the spontaneous decisions co to first, since I’m the only one who is actually thinking of the frail thing."
Varen opened his mouth to speak, but he shut it, and then walked out, slamming the door behind him. I sighed as I stared at the empty room in panic. This was just bad.
Massaging the bridge of my nose, I made my way out of the room. A few guards were stationed around, and they bowed at as I moved. Outside, it was too dark, but the black Sedan slid in front of and, I wasted no ti sliding in. In no ti, I was at the office, in the pack, and pacing the length of the room. My hand folded behind my back as I waited for those idiots that I called brothers to co in.
It’s not like I didn’t love them, but they never used their brains to do anything, and I couldn’t trust them enough not to make Josie truly leave the pack. If she did, then, what the hell was I going to do?
No, I didn’t even want to think about it.
The moon goddess brought her into my life for a reason and I needed to protect her from everything. No, matter what she fucking thought.
The door turned and my brothers stumbled in.
"I believe you were lecturing about knocking just the other day, what happened now?" I snapped.
Kiel sighed as he moved to the lunge chair sitting right on it. "Please, your office is depressing as it is with its dark furnitures. Don’t give a migraine too."
I stared at him in disbelief. "You can’t be serious."
He gave a look, his piercing glinting int he light. "I am," he said simply.
"Why are we here?" Varen asked, and I could tell he was still mad at for what happened earlier.
Too bad, I still didn’t care.
I walked over to the table, perching on it, while getting a hold of the alcohol. Thoughts of Josie swarm in my head, and her anger was the most poignant today. I took a huge gulp from the whiskey bottle and looked at my brothers who weren’t looking at but busy pressing their own phones.
"Kiel," I said quietly. He rose his brow easily as his fingers kneaded into the long black hair. "Tell why Josie brought up Michelle, and she looked like she was breaking apart."
He paused for a minute too long, and I felt my stomach churn in panic. It was not in to be antsy for anything, but I was right now, and I couldn’t shake it off.
"Thorne, Michelle walked in on and Josie kissing, and..."
"What?" Varen asked in anger mirroring the way my fingers kneaded around the bottle like I wanted to break it.
"And, what happened?" I said in a false calm I didn’t feel.
He looked down "She was in tears... Michelle, and I just couldn’t let her leave like that. I left Josie standing there." He looked up then, and his eyes looked tortured. "I know it’s wrong to abandon your mate like that, but I had no choice. Michelle was soone important."
I slamd the glass on the table, barely aware of the liquid dripping on the floor. "Michelle is no-one to us. I thought you understood that we have a fucking mate now!"
"So, we just pretend that she had not been a part of our fucking lives for years? Do you think I enjoy this?"
I laughed without humour, as I turned to Varen who was still looking at Kiel in shock. "You kissed our mate without telling us, and then, you broke her heart at the sa night."
"I didn’t an to, ok? It just happened, it was part of the mont. I an, you don’t expect the one of the elder’s granddaughter to leave in rage, right? Do you even understand what it would have done to..."
"Just get out," I said slowly as I made my way to the corner of the bar, taking another drink.
"Thorne..."
"Leave, and please both of you don’t know how to be a mate, so I suggest you stay the fuck away from what’s mine!"
