In the corridor, just a door away.

Wen Yi’s face was white, tightly grasping Wen Ya’s hand.

She might have been at ease, but seeing them enter the room firsthand stirred a different emotion.

A decision she had made long ago still left her in deep pain.

Wen Ya touched her cheek and wiped the tears from the corner of her eye, frowning as she spoke again, "Wen Yi, it’s not too late to go in now. If you hesitate, they’ll turn raw rice into cooked rice, and you’ll never have a chance again."

Tears stread down Wen Yi’s face.

Wen Ya’s expression was icy as she raised her hand to knock on the door.

"No, big sister," Wen Yi suddenly stopped her, her lips bitten red, "Let it be. I’m willing to let him have this."

They were only fiancés in na.

He Ye didn’t like her.

Yet, Wen Ya insisted on knocking on the door, "I don’t care what you’re thinking, but no matter what, Cheng Zhiwei absolutely can’t stay here and spend the night with He Ye."

"Sister."

"You only think about He Ye getting his way, but I think Cheng Zhiwei wouldn’t be so foolish. Her entering this door might not be voluntary," Wen Ya was rational and thinking further ahead.

Wen Yi still didn’t understand, "You an Big Brother He forced her? No, Big Brother He isn’t that type of person."

"Whether he is or isn’t, we’ll know when we knock and enter."

Wen Ya calmly raised her hand, but before she could touch the door, soone from the inside already opened it.

He Ye was wearing a white shirt, sleeves rolled up to his elbows, the first two buttons undone, his shirt covered in water stains.

The three of them exchanged looks.

Wen Yi imdiately tried to explain, "Big Brother He..."

He Ye rubbed his temples, his voice hoarse, "You’ve co at just the right ti. Zhiwei is inside, and I can’t go near her."

Wen Yi was puzzled, "What do you an?"

Wen Ya quickly understood and imdiately pulled Wen Yi into the room.

Inside, the temperature was very low, the air conditioner blowing harsh, cold air. In the bathroom, Cheng Zhiwei was huddled in cold water wearing her clothes.

With such a low temperature, her face was unusually flushed.

"Zhiwei." Wen Ya gently touched Cheng Zhiwei’s cheek, and indeed, it was severely hot.

"Find a blanket," Wen Yi calmly ordered.

Wen Yi was about to speak when another knock echoed.

Wen Yi moved to open the door, but Wen Ya held her back and peeked at the display, stunned to see Wen Yongan standing there.

She inford the other two inside.

Besides Wen Yi, both Wen Ya and He Ye figured out sothing.

"Dad must have heard about He Ye and Zhiwei and co over, Wen Yi, go close the bathroom door, He Ye scatter the cards on the bed haphazardly, do you have any cash? Take it out."

He Ye quickly prepared everything.

The knocking grew louder.

Seeing they were ready, Wen Ya opened the door.

Wen Yongan was about to search for soone tentatively, but unexpectedly, his eldest daughter greeted him.

"Wen Ya?" he was startled.

"Dad, why are you here?" Wen Ya feigned surprise and glanced at the three or four bodyguards behind him, "Why did you bring so many people?"

Inside, Wen Yi’s voice could be heard, "Big sister, who is it?"

The sound of footsteps approached, and Wen Yi showed her delicate face, also surprised, "Dad?"

Wen Yongan awkwardly coughed, clenching his fist. Of course, he couldn’t admit he had rushed over after hearing that He Ye and Cheng Zhiwei were in a room upstairs.

"I was just passing by to check," While Wen Yongan was surprised to see his two daughters in the room, he remained sharp, "Wen Yi, why aren’t you out playing with your friends? What are you hiding here for?"

He said as he attempted to enter.

Originally, Wen Yongan had co with the purpose of "catching an affair," worried that his two daughters would defend He Ye, so he decided it was best to see for himself.

"What are you up to? The room temperature is so low," Wen Yongan paused upon seeing He Ye in the room, "Xiao Ye?"

He Ye awkwardly greeted him, "Uncle Wen."

He was wrapped in a blanket, sitting on the bed, in front of him scattered playing cards and several hundred-yuan notes strewn about.

They were playing cards in the room.

Wen Yongan glanced over but his expression stayed stern, "What are you doing?"

"Playing cards," Wen Yi clung to Wen Yongan’s arm, trying to get through the situation, "It’s the sa every birthday, it’s no fun at all; playing cards is better."

Wen Yongan sneered.

Having seen much of the world, and considering how poorly staged their card ga was, riddled with holes, he imdiately sensed sothing was amiss.

"What’s really going on?" he asked sternly.

Wen Yi bowed her head, too afraid to speak. He Ye was about to open his mouth, but Wen Ya spoke first, "You tell us first, why did you co all of a sudden?"

Wen Yongan’s brows were tightly knit, and he briefly explained, "Soone said He Ye and Cheng Zhiwei were in a room here."

Wen Ya nodded, "I thought as much."

"What do you an, you thought as much?"

Wen Ya said nothing at the mont, opened the bathroom door to make sure Cheng Zhiwei wasn’t having any uncontrollable issues, and then took Wen Yongan to see Cheng Zhiwei soaked in the cold water.

"She was drugged by soone."

Wen Yongan raised his voice, "You guys are too bold."

"Dad, really nothing happened between them. I can testify," Wen Yi hurriedly explained, fearing a misunderstanding.

Wen Yongan’s face turned iron blue as he roared, "Quickly get her to a hospital; this could easily beco fatal."

No one expected that sort of reaction from him.

"We were just about to take her to the hospital when you arrived," Wen Yi explained quietly.

She and Wen Ya quickly helped Cheng Zhiwei out of the water.

Cheng Zhiwei was a bit more awake, leaning on Wen Ya, weakly said, "Wen Ya, I think there’s sothing wrong with ."

"I’m here, we’re taking you to the hospital right now."

At the hospital, Cheng Zhiwei was admitted at the last minute into general ward after a prompt rescue.

He Ye stood by the window, his expression grim, "Everyone had the sa food and drinks, who drugged her and when?"

Wen Yi couldn’t answer, "I don’t know."

"The only difference was that piece of cake," He Ye had pieced part of it together.

Wen Yi’s eyes reddened suddenly, "You an, I drugged her?"

"And why would you invite her to your birthday party when you’re not close?" He Ye questioned.

He still didn’t know Wen Yi had wanted to give him and Cheng Zhiwei a chance.

"Besides, wasn’t it you who called out, saying she had sothing to tell ?" He Ye’s gaze was icy, pressing.

Wen Yi opened her mouth but couldn’t speak.

Because it was indeed her who found an excuse to call Cheng Zhiwei out, then purposely told He Ye that Cheng Zhiwei was waiting outside for him.

No matter how you looked at it, it seed like her deliberate arrangent,

Wen Ya hurriedly soothed Wen Yi and turned to He Ye disapprovingly, "She was hoping you two could clear up misunderstandings, so she created an opportunity for you to be alone."
