Wen Yi looked at Cheng Zhiwei with cautious eyes, her fingers nervously entwined. For her, even though her relationship with He Ye was just an act, she still felt that she owed Cheng Zhiwei an apology.

Cheng Zhiwei smiled at her warmly, "Wen Yi, I know everything."

A slight smile then appeared on Wen Yi’s face, "Then Sister Zhiwei, you won’t bla , right?"

"How could I?" Cheng Zhiwei blessed her sincerely, "Actually, I think you two are quite a good match."

A blush crept up onto Wen Yi’s cheeks.

He Ye, however, his face changed slightly and he remained silent.

Wen Yi bit her lip, her eyes beginning to redden slightly.

Cheng Zhiwei turned to talk to Wen Ya on her own, while He Ye sat drinking sullenly, one cup after another.

In the end, it was Wen Yi who couldn’t stand it anymore and spoke up, "Big Brother He, stop drinking."

Cheng Zhiwei and Wen Ya’s conversation halted, and they looked over.

He Ye’s face turned pale, and he put down his glass. In a low voice, he said, "I suddenly feel a bit unwell, so I’ll leave first."

He hurried away after pushing his chair back, with Wen Yi quickly following him. However, after about a minute or two, she ran back and said to Cheng Zhiwei, "Sister Zhiwei, tomorrow is my birthday party, can I invite you to co?"

He Ye had co over because of Wen Yi’s birthday.

After all, she was his fiancée in na.

Cheng Zhiwei declined, "Happy birthday, Wen Yi, but I won’t be coming to your party."

She had co here to live a quiet, low-profile life. As the Wen family’s heiress, Wen Yi’s birthday party would either be a grand event held at ho or a gathering with friends outside. Cheng Zhiwei preferred not to join in the excitent.

Wen Yi bit her lip, looking at Cheng Zhiwei with yearning eyes, as if there were tears in the eyes of the young girl, "Sister Zhiwei, please, would you co to my birthday party?"

She spoke earnestly, as if sothing major would happen if Cheng Zhiwei did not attend.

"Wen Yi," Cheng Zhiwei explained patiently, "I really can’t go, Cheng Yang and Cheng Xing are still at ho."

"The kids can co along too, Sister Zhiwei, please co, okay?"

Cheng Zhiwei had the sensation that refusing any further would be akin to bullying.

Wen Ya persuaded her, "Zhiwei, let’s go together. Wen Yi has a good heart, and it’s just a gathering outside, not a al at ho."

Wen Yi nodded vigorously.

With no other choice, Cheng Zhiwei agreed.

Wen Yi imdiately cheered up, "Then I’ll ask the driver to pick you up."

"No need, I’ll bring her along when I go ho; Junjun and Cheng Yang and Cheng Xing all go to the sa kindergarten," said Wen Ya.

"Then thank you, Big Sister," Wen Yi replied, clearly relieved, and quickly left.

Her departing figure seed sowhat sprightly.

Later on, Cheng Zhiwei and Wen Ya also went ho.

Once Wen Ya got ho, she imdiately asked her sister why she had to invite Cheng Zhiwei to dinner, especially under the pretense of a birthday.

Wen Yi’s birthdays were always celebrated outside with close friends; she never invited people she didn’t know from her social circle.

Why insist on inviting Cheng Zhiwei?

Wen Yi snuggled into Wen Ya’s embrace, playfully wrapping her arms around her waist, "I just wanted them to have a chance to talk alone."

Wen Ya froze for a mont, then looking down at Wen Yi, she asked in surprise, "Don’t you like He Ye?"

Wen Yi sulked, "But he likes Sister Zhiwei."

"You two are engaged."

"That’s just for a show, and it was my own choice. I hope he can gain the ability to choose his own happiness," Wen Yi’s eyes were moist, yet her sincerity was profound.

"Isn’t that too unfair to you?" Wen Ya sighed, "And if father finds out, he will be very angry."

Of course, she knew they were acting–after all, Wen Yi told her everything.

"It’s okay, as long as they don’t misunderstand each other." Wen Yi pursed her lips into a smile, "I refuse to be the villain who steals soone else’s love."

So she created the opportunity for them.

...

After leaving Cheng Yang and Cheng Xing with a caretaker, Cheng Zhiwei followed Wen Ya to Wen Yi’s birthday gathering.

The group of young people gathered, creating quite a lively atmosphere.

He Ye sat in a corner, and when he saw Cheng Zhiwei, he froze, then pretended to drink.

When Wen Yi introduced Cheng Zhiwei, she simply ntioned her as a good big sister, therefore no one noticed He Ye’s peculiar behavior.

After cutting the cake and Cheng Zhiwei giving her gift, she prepared to leave.

"Eat a piece of cake before you go," Wen Yi held onto Cheng Zhiwei.

Cheng Zhiwei then stayed to have the cake.

A few minutes later, Wen Yi ca to find Cheng Zhiwei, asking her to go outside for so air.

Cheng Zhiwei agreed, based on the principle that the birthday person’s wishes are paramount.

But just as they reached the outdoor corridor, Wen Yi said she had forgotten her phone and went back in.

Cheng Zhiwei waited for a while, then suddenly felt dizzy and disoriented.

She quickly leaned against the wall as discomfort grew, with a subtle heat rising in her lower abdon.

What was happening?

"Zhiwei, what’s wrong?" He Ye’s voice sounded before her.

Cheng Zhiwei’s body shivered slightly as she looked down and said, "I feel a bit unwell. Please get Wen Ya."

"Unwell?" He Ye grabbed her wrist.

"Don’t touch ." Cheng Zhiwei recoiled, but reason was being eroded by the odd sensations in her body.

Simply being pulled by her wrist by He Ye, she shafully found herself wanting to throw herself into his arms.

He Ye noticed her strange behavior.

"Zhiwei."

Reality for Cheng Zhiwei snapped completely; she leaned into He Ye’s embrace, clutching his waist.

He Ye’s body stiffened, and he instinctively held her tighter, his throat becoming painfully dry, "Zhiwei, you..."

Cheng Zhiwei clutched his shirt tightly, tugging at it.

She had no idea what she was doing; she only knew she was very hot and needed water, and the person before her was that water.

He Ye clenched his fists for three seconds and then suddenly let go.

Cheng Zhiwei was swept up in his arms, and into the elevator.

In the hotel room upstairs, He Ye looked down at the flushed Cheng Zhiwei in his arms, unhappy because he was clinging tightly to her hand.

Perhaps she hadn’t completely lost her senses, so occasionally her brows would furrow, but her body’s instincts quickly made her cling to him again.

Now, in this room, it was just the two of them.

She had clearly been set up.

Even if they were together now, no one would say a word.

Swallowing again and again, veins throbbing on his forehead, He Ye felt selfish for a mont, telling himself, to be a little selfish just this once, and then she would be entirely his.

If they were intimate, Zhou Lin would no longer have a chance.

Once the situation with the He family was resolved, he would marry her, and with their common interests, they could surely achieve great things together.

He loosened his grip.

Cheng Zhiwei then threw herself into his arms, burying her head as she struggled with his shirt, but with her body so weak, she had little strength.

The buttons of the shirt took forever to undo.
