Kim really didn't care to use her sword's ability right then. Mostly because she wanted to get more ti to try and figure out what exactly was going on.
Not to ntion, giving Jonas more ti to do whatever it was that he was doing. Though, Kim supposed it was for the best, since she couldn't accidentally spread what she didn't know.
However, when Elmo and Grisha approached her after they'd finished lunch, she had a sinking feeling that her ti of delaying was over.
"Uh, Kim?" Elmo asked. "I'm not sure, but isn't it about ti for your sword's ability to refresh?"
Which one? Kim wanted to ask, but didn't because she knew it would be pointless and would only raise suspicion about it. Though, she was at least confident that she could co up with so excuse as to why she didn't ntion it herself earlier. One that wouldn't raise any suspicions.
"Yeah, it's refreshed," Kim said, making it clear that she was waiting for them to pretty much ask what they wanted her to do with it, despite the fact that Grisha had ntioned it multiple tis. The problem of it was that sohow Kim couldn't bring herself to believe that he was doing for the benefit of his supposed sister.
Elmo and Grisha waited in silence. Kim had no problem waiting either. Besides, it would take effort that she really didn't' care to make. If they asked, then it would be them making the request rather than her essentially volunteering to do that. As such, she was more than happy to just wait them out.
"Well? Are you going to use it or not?" Grisha asked, sounding rather annoyed and fairly impatient.
Kim rely looked at him calmly. "If you want to use it for sothing, then this would be the ti to ask. I don't do demands, though," she answered, briefly wondering what Grisha might do if she flat out refused altogether.
Grisha looked at Kim like he couldn't believe what she was telling him. "Are you serious?" he demanded, apparently not caring about Kim's statent regarding demands. "I've been telling you for the past few days that I've been looking for my sister. I was told that you could use... (your sword?) to find my sister. And now you're acting rather flippant about the matter. Like you never intended to use that ability to search for her."
Kim sighed. She did recall about that, but he didn't seem to get that she wasn't going to just do sothing like that because she was aware soone wanted sothing from her. That wasn't sothing that she'd ever done in the past.
"If you don't want to do that, then don't ask," Kim answered, wondering if she should have listened to him up to this point in the first place. It might have been rude to leave while he was still talking to her, but at least she wouldn't feel a little annoyed about his attitude towards her right then.
"Why should I ask again when I've been making it clear that I wanted that to happen?"
Kim glanced at Elmo and couldn't help but feel a little bad for him. It was clear he hadn't expected this to turn into a confrontation, but since it had, he almost looked a little lost as to what he should do.
"Simply because as far as I know, you'd already for so other ans to find... your sister," Kim hesitated with calling the girl Grisha's sister, simply because she wasn't convinced that Grisha really had one. Or at least a sister that was related to him biologically. If he did, then she had her doubts that this person was Grisha himself.
"Fine," Grisha said shortly, his annoyance clear in his voice. "Would you please use your sword's locating ability and see if you can find where my sister is?"
Kim nodded, drawing her sword. She wasn't sure if she could use that ability while it was still sheathed, but she didn't care to try and find out at the mont. Maybe another week she'd do that, but right then she didn't feel like running the risk that she'd lose the ability for the week and not get any information.
"I'll search for your sister," Kim said.
Grisha nodded. "Yes, the sister of Grisha Violet."
Kim arched an eyebrow at how Grisha phrased that, as it almost felt like he was trying to add a qualifier in order to adjust the results sohow. She wasn't sure why he put it that way, but she couldn't think of a reason to say anything about it, either.
All she could do was close her eyes, to help herself focus, and concentrate on activating that ability. She did her best to focus on searching for the sister of the man in front of her, but a part of her also had the na 'Grisha Violet' floating around. Though, she hoped it wouldn't add a complication to the matter in the first place. A complication that she feared would add a wrinkle to what she found out that would just beco a headache for her, if nothing else.
Kim could feel the ability of the sword activate, and unlike the last ti she used it, she didn't feel her find drawn to a single focal point, but rather it felt like her mind spread out. Like she knew where she was in relation to everything in this world. She could tell that the person in front of her didn't have a sister anywhere around while 'Grisha Violet' had one that was to their west. Kim wasn't sure exactly where to the west of her, but she could tell that soone was in the direction who fit the requirents.
The only rub about it was that she could tell that whoever she was, she was definitely not the sister of the man in front of her.
As she opened her eyes absently, she couldn't help but wonder why the results ca out like that. She wasn't sure if it was because her suspicions about the person in front of her was correct or if there was sothing else going on. Though, she wished she could use her sword again to see where Grisha Violet was, but she doubted that she'd be able to get enough ti to do that again.
"So? What's you find?" Grisha asked.
Kim looked at Elmo first, then turned to Grisha. "I couldn't find any sister that was related to you," Kim answered and felt like she should have thought her words out first before she spoke. Maybe it was only in her own mind, but she felt like it sounded awkward. To her if nothing else.
"What do you an 'any sister that was related to ?'" Grisha demanded.
Kim rely shrugged. "I really have no idea. This was the second ti I'd used that ability, so it's not like I know everything about it. All I know is that I could sense soone who is the sister of soone nad 'Grisha' to the west of us, but I all I could really be certain of beyond that was that she wasn't related to you."
Grisha looked at Kim for a mont, like his brain had sopped working and needed a reboot, but then after a second, he nodded and turned away without saying anything.
"What just happened?" Elmo asked, echoing a thought in the back of Kim's mind.
"I have no idea," she admitted. She supposed that the person who she'd been helping wasn't the real Grisha Violet, but without proof, she didn't feel like it was the ti to say anything. Besides, if she was right and forced him into a position like that, she couldn't say what he might do. Which was especially dangerous given she had no idea what his capabilities were right then.
Though, she couldn't help but suspect even more that the mory problems were related to him sohow.
"Why would he ask us to find his sister if he doesn't have one?" Elmo asked, his mind clearly trying to catch up to where Kim was currently.
"Who's to say that he doesn't consider her a sister and is otherwise unrelated to her?" Kim offered, feeling like she should play the devil's advocate, regardless of how she felt about the situation altogether.
"You an, like as a foster sister or sothing?" Elmo asked.
Kim rely shrugged. "I couldn't say. As far as I know the sword would be able to pick up on that, but it's not like I could really say. I an, it's not like the ability ca with a manual. So, your guess is as good as mine."
Elmo sighed, clearly not satisfied with Km's response. Should we at least head west to see if we can find the person you did find in the west?"
Kim looked at Elmo and wondered if he had gotten enough sleep. Saying 'west' twice felt a little overkill, especially since she'd been pretty sure that he was smart enough to have been able to co up with a way to phrase that that didn't sound redundant.
"Maybe, but we should also do what we can to help Sonya. I an, she has a couple weeks to go yet, but I'm sure that we should at least wait until we're at full strength. Otherwise who knows what other problems we might end up in?"
