83: Chapter 83: Do You Know Brother Bob?
Emily Johnson was actually scared that Jas Brown was Emma Campbell’s relative because if that were the case, it would be too easy for the matter to escalate at the school.
As a student herself, if things got out of hand, she might be expelled, but as soon as she heard Jas Brown wasn’t Emma Campbell’s relative, she snorted and said, “I don’t care who he is to you, I’m telling you, I’m very angry, extrely angry.”
“I really don’t like him, it’s he who’s pestering ,” Emma also beca sowhat frantic.
Emily’s eyes widened as she said, “Don’t play innocent here.
If it weren’t for you leading him on in front of him, would he always be looking at you?”
Little Missy then rolled her eyes impatiently and said, “Why are we wasting ti talking?
Beat her up, and she’ll know what to do.” She then walked toward Emma.
At this mont, Emma had no idea how to cope, and Jas Brown was already frowning.
It was clear that they were being unreasonable and just picking on Emma because they thought she was easy to bully.
And these two were not even taking him seriously.
How could they, when he was a grown man?
Had the girls of today beco so arrogant?
Shielding Emma behind him, Jas Brown glared and shouted, “What are you trying to do?”
Emily halted in her tracks, but Little Missy, with her eyes glaring, said disdainfully, “You’d better wise up and stay where it’s cool.”
Jas was speechless with Little Missy’s audacity.
Did she think she could fight so well that she didn’t need to take a grown man into account?
Shaking his head, he said, “Today, I really don’t want to stay cool.
Emma is my sister, and I absolutely won’t let you bully her.”
“Kid, don’t think you’re tough just because you’re a man.
Do you even know who I am?” Little Missy threw away her cigarette and, with a fierce and nacing look, ca up to Jas, poking his chest twice.
Jas truly didn’t know whether to laugh or cry at being so disdained by a little girl.
He knew Emily relied on Little Missy, who in turn knew so small-ti hooligans, which was why she was acting so fierce.
He felt it was beneath him to stoop to the level of such girls, but it was necessary to let them know that Emma was not soone to be bullied.
With a stern face, he said, “I don’t care who you are; today, I’m going to stand up for Emma.
Go get whoever you think is so tough; I don’t want to lay hands on two kids.”
Narrowing her eyes, Little Missy took another look at Jas and said, “You’re pretty cocky, kid.
But if I really call for backup, you might just start crying.”
Jas took Emma to a staircase to the side and sat down, saying, “Hurry up then, no more chitchat.”
Emily quickly instructed Little Missy, “Since this guy is being so blind, call your big brother and give him a good beating.”
Little Missy nodded, took out her phone, and after glancing at Jas again, said, “You still have a chance to get lost.”
Jas smiled faintly, ignoring the ignorant taunts of the two girls.
Emma tugged worriedly at Jas’s arm, but he patted her hand, reassuring her.
“Big Brother, it’s Little Lily…
So blind jerk is disrespecting …
It’s a guy who is pretty good at pretending.
I’m right at the entrance of YODC City University…
Okay.”
After hanging up, Little Lily turned to Jas, puffing herself up, and said, “Kid, if you have any guts, don’t leave.
My big brother is on his way.”
Jas didn’t even bother to acknowledge Little Lily, took out a cigarette, and began smoking leisurely.
Emily, full of triumph, said, “Kid, you’re still putting on airs.
Do you have any idea who Little Lily’s big brother is?”
Jas’s eyes narrowed as he asked, “Who is he?”
Emily’s lips nearly curved to the sky as she said, “Our Little Lily’s brother is Brother Bob.
You must have heard of him.
Here in YODC City, anybody who dares disrespect Brother Bob is dead at.”
“Never heard of him,” was Jas’s direct response, which made Emily roll her eyes with exasperation.
“Damn!” Emily burst out, glaring as she shouted, “You haven’t heard of Brother Bob?
Are you an idiot or sothing?”
Little Lily curled her lip and said, “He’s just a country bumpkin; what does he know?”
Emily took another look at Jas’s attire, nodding repeatedly as she said, “Exactly, a country bumpkin like that wouldn’t know the fa of Brother Bob.”
In Emily and Little Lily’s eyes, those involved in the underworld were the toughest people around.
A person could be unaware of the police or governnt officials, but not knowing about underworld figures was just plain uncool.
To them, not knowing the big boss was to be completely outclassed.
Emma Campbell gently tugged on Jas Brown’s sleeve and bit her lip, whispering, “Big Brother Brown, let’s go.”
Jas Brown turned to look at Emma and said, “Why should we leave?”
“Big Brother Brown, it’s no use; they’re really powerful.” Emma urgently shook Jas Brown with force.
Emily Johnson, with her arms crossed and grinning, said, “Emma, you think you can leave?
I’ll tell ya, I was willing to let it go with a simple lesson, but you actually brought soone with you, and such a dumbass who lacks any vision at all.
Now you’ve gone and stepped in it, in big trouble.”
Emma was even more fearful and suddenly stood up, biting her lip, she said to Emily Johnson, “Fine, hit then, go ahead and hit , but this has nothing to do with Big Brother Brown, don’t call that Brother Bob here.”
Emma’s words ca out incredibly fluent, her determined gaze fixed on Emily Johnson, actually making her feel sowhat unsettled inside.
Seeing that Emily Johnson didn’t respond, Emma’s eyes reddened, and she hastily said, “Emily, this is between roommates.
Whatever you do to , I can take it.
Please, just hit instead, don’t bring Brother Bob into it.” Saying this, she grabbed Emily’s arm and started hitting her own face with it.
Emily Johnson was dumbfounded.
In her eyes, Emma had always been an easy target, soone she could mold any which way she wanted.
Usually, no matter how she bullied Emma, she just took it.
But she hadn’t expected Emma to show such courage today, a bravery that made her doubt if the person in front of her was really Emma.
Jas Brown swiftly reached out, blocking the two of them, separating Emma’s hands, but Emma struggled, saying, “Big Brother Brown, I can’t drag you down with .
I shouldn’t have told you, let alone asked you to co.
Please go, just go.”
Jas Brown, seeing the regret in Emma’s eyes, sighed silently to himself.
Emma now was just like the day she was willing to sacrifice herself for her loved ones—equally brave and selfless for the sake of family and friends.
She never fought for herself, but for her loved ones, she feared nothing.
What a good girl she was.
At this mont, Jas Brown was deeply moved.
“Big Brother Brown, just listen to , please go.
They are really too strong.
I can’t…
I can’t let you get hurt because of !” Emma pushed Jas Brown, thinking only of getting him away from this dangerous place, completely disregarding her own safety.
Jas Brown enveloped Emma in his arms, whispering in her ear, “Have you forgotten how I sorted out your dad’s problems?”
Emma’s body stiffened.
Caught up in the urgency, she was frightened by what Emily and Little Lily said about Brother Bob and had forgotten that Jas Brown was a capable man.
Staring at him blankly, she mumbled, “But…”
“There are no buts.
What’s this about Brother Bob?
In front of your Big Brother Brown, he’s nothing at all.
You’re not going to doubt now, are you?”
“No!
I believe you!” Emma first shook her head, then vigorously nodded several tis.
“That’s right.
We’ll just wait.
Leave everything to your Big Brother Brown.
I’ll make them understand that ssing with my little Emma will cost them dearly.”
His words, “my little Emma,” instantly dispelled all of Emma’s fears, and she excitedly embraced Jas Brown.
With him by her side, she feared no danger.
“Pfft, Emma, I thought you were pure, but it turns out it was all pretend.
You’re already taken care of by soone,” Emily Johnson mocked coldly from the side.
“But if you’re going to get soone to take care of you, at least pick soone rich.
Look at who you’ve picked: the clothes on his back are market stall trash.
Your taste really is poor.”
Little Lily laughed, saying, “Well, when Brother Bob gets here, let her follow him.
He loves this kind of schoolgirl.
Too bad she’s not a virgin anymore, or Brother Bob would love her even more.”
Emily Johnson flinched.
If Brother Bob took Emma, then Emma might hold her accountable later, and that would be bad for her.
She quickly said, “Little Lily, don’t ss around.
She might look nice, but you don’t know how many n she’s been with.
For money, she’ll do anything; give her twenty or thirty bucks, and she’s off to turn a trick.
If a girl like that gets with Brother Bob, he’d surely end up wearing a green hat.
When Brother Bob gets pissed, you’ll be out of luck.”
Little Lily curled her lip and spat, muttering, “Damn, so she’s that kind of tramp.”
At that mont, Emma was nestled in Jas Brown’s embrace, only feeling the warmth of his hold.
Though she had stayed with Jas for two nights, and they’d hugged in bed, it was only for sleep.
Now, she was held during the day, which made Emma so blissful that she was oblivious to the world outside.
However, Jas was very alert.
Hearing how they slandered Emma, anger flared within him.
n aren’t supposed to hit won unless it really cos to that, and these two won, although young, had spoken spiteful and slanderous words that warranted a response.
So, while embracing Emma with one arm, he advanced with swift steps toward them and, with his free hand, “whap whap,” landed a slap across the face of each of them.
This stung Emily and Little Lily into silence, both clutching their faces, staring dumbstruck at Jas.
Especially Little Lily, who had na-dropped Brother Bob and expected him to arrive soon—she was beyond belief that Jas would dare hit her.
Could there really be soone who looked down on Brother Bob?
The sound of the slap pulled Emma from her coziness.
She turned to look at Emily and Little Lily, her hands covering her mouth in shock, her eyes wide.
She couldn’t have imagined that Jas would actually hit them, and now she was clueless as to why he had suddenly resorted to violence.
“F*ck, you dare hit ?
I’m going to kill you!” Little Lily was a feisty girl and, true to that nature, she exploded with rage, hurling insults at Jas.
Just then, a van sped to a halt right beside them, and six n jumped out.
Little Lily cried out loudly, “Brother Bob, it’s this bastard right here; he just hit !”
