79: Chapter 79: Reminiscing 79: Chapter 79: Reminiscing Jas Brown was driving, and Gina Lopez was explaining the local culture and customs to Lucy Campbell in the back seat.

Lucy listened attentively, always wearing a smile, as if truly interested.

However, Jas couldn’t help but feel that what really interested Lucy wasn’t what Gina was talking about but him.

Especially through the rearview mirror, Jas would occasionally catch Lucy looking at him, which made him feel uneasy.

What was this woman up to?

W Temple was located on a small mountain over 500 ters high.

The car could only reach halfway up the mountain, while the rest had to be covered on foot.

Jas parked the car, and both Gina and Lucy got out.

Jas also followed them out.

He hadn’t planned to co along, but his strong sense of safety from the Hawk Squad made him vigilant.

With soone like Lucy showing up here, it was likely that others would have their eyes on her, and problems could arise.

Moreover, Lucy wasn’t accompanied by a bodyguard, clearly because she knew he was with her, which ant she had recognized him from the day before.

Jas pulled a backpack onto his back, which contained so water, and then followed behind Gina and Lucy as they made their way up the mountain steps.

The weather was excellent today, already carrying a hint of spring, and it wasn’t so cold outside.

Gina and Lucy were dressed in casual clothes and sneakers.

“Could you give a bottle of water?” After climbing more than a hundred steps, Lucy turned and looked at Jas.

Jas imdiately took out a bottle of water from his bag and handed it to her.

Lucy accepted it and said thank you.

After taking a small sip, she continued walking with the water in hand.

Gina, always considerate, said to Lucy, “Miss Campbell, let him carry the water for you; it’s quite high up.”

Lucy glanced at Jas and replied, “No need, I can carry it myself; he’s already worked hard enough.”

Gina quickly said, “It’s no problem; he’s strong and can handle carrying a bit more.”

Lucy smiled slightly, saying, “I still don’t know who this gentleman is, Miss Lopez.

You haven’t introduced him.”

Gina replied, “He’s a driver at my company.”

“Oh?

Your driver?

But I think I saw him at the reception yesterday, didn’t I?”

Gina said sowhat awkwardly, “Sorry, there was a man bothering last night, and I couldn’t get rid of him.

I had to bring him along as my cover.”

Lucy’s mouth curved up slightly, “So, Miss Lopez, you still don’t have a boyfriend?”

“No, not yet.

Miss Campbell, it seems like you don’t have one either.

I’ve never seen any news about your boyfriend.”

“I don’t either.”

Discussing personal matters with Lucy was sothing Gina had prepared beforehand, and it was the best way to tighten their relationship.

With such conversations, the climb seed much easier, and after more than half an hour, the three reached the top of the mountain and arrived at the entrance to W Temple.

W Temple was indeed large and well-preserved with a strong incense offering.

Although there was no temple fair today, the place still attracted many people, each carrying a sincere heart.

Even with beauties like Gina and Lucy around, people seldom looked their way, as if harboring impure thoughts in the presence of The Almighty would keep him from manifesting.

Gina explained the origins of W Temple to Lucy, including its history over the years, speaking as if she was a native of YODC City.

This left Jas with no choice but to admire Gina’s capabilities; she was indeed a capable woman.

“Ouch!” After a walk around the temple, Lucy suddenly cried out in a low voice and then grabbed Gina, showing a pained expression.

“I’ve twisted my ankle.”

“How is it?” Gina gasped, startled.

Lucy’s status was really sensitive; if she got hurt while accompanied by her, it would surely bring about a great responsibility.

“It should be nothing serious, I just need to rest for a bit.” Lucy smiled, though it was a bit forced.

Gina quickly helped Lucy to a nearby stone table to sit down, then anxiously asked, “Miss Campbell, how do you feel now?”

“This is no big deal.

I often twist my ankle like this.

Just a bit of dicated oil to ease the pain should help, but I didn’t bring any today.”

Gina quickly said, “They should have so here in the temple.

Jas, could you go get so?”

Lucy quickly said, “Miss Lopez, would you mind going?

I still need a bodyguard by my side to feel safe.”

Gina was startled by Lucy’s words and nodded hurriedly, “Yes, I should go.

Jas, you must protect Miss Campbell well and make sure nothing goes wrong.”

“It’s fine, you can go,” Jas nodded, knowing that Lucy definitely had sothing to say to him.

Just as Gina ran off, Lucy squinted at Jas and said, “Captain Hawk No.

2, do you rember ?”

Jas cracked a smile and responded, “I really didn’t expect to see Miss Campbell here.

Thank you for not revealing my forr identity.”

Lucy smiled slightly and said, “I know your forr identity needed to be kept secret, of course I wouldn’t ntion it.

But why did you co back here?

And to take such a minor role?

I’m quite curious about that.”

Jas sat opposite Lucy and said, “It’s nothing much, I just felt a bit tired and wanted to rest.

As for being in a minor role, it doesn’t seem too bad to .

I’m quite content with my days now.”

Lucy stared at Jas and slowly said, “It’s such a waste for soone as capable as you to just be in a minor role.”

“It’s not a waste.

I spent five years with Hawk Squad, and I did my duty for the country.”

“Oh.” Lucy looked at Jas and gently shook her head.

Jas didn’t want to dwell on the topic and instead asked, “What brought you to YODC City?

This small city really can’t contain a big figure like you.”

For others, Lucy Campbell was a person with a powerful background.

The Campbell Family was one of the most powerful families in SSUP Country, and her abilities, especially in business, were outstanding.

The last ti Lucy was on a mission, an accident had occurred that exposed her, leading to a relentless pursuit to kill her.

If it weren’t for Jas, she would have died far from ho.

Lucy smiled slightly and said, “You’re tired, I’m tired too.

After the last incident, my identity was exposed, and I no longer fit for that job.

So now, I’m just attending to my own matters.”

“That’s truly a relief.

I always thought that such work didn’t suit you, and with a wonderful grandfather, why even bother with those matters?”

“Maybe I just like facing different challenges,” Lucy smiled slightly.

By then, Gina returned, holding a bottle of pain relief spray, and conversation between Jas and Lucy ceased.

Actually, Lucy had no real issues; she just wanted to send Gina away under pretense, pretending to spray a little, moving her foot around, and then declaring it was nothing, giving Gina a sigh of relief.

The three of them wandered around the temple and Gina took Lucy to a few places in YODC City.

Though there wasn’t much special in YODC City, finding those few spots was quite an achievent for Gina.

After dropping Lucy back at the hotel, the three bodyguards from C Park finally breathed a sigh of relief, and then Jas and Gina took their leave.

Back at the hotel, Lucy looked at so recent information that included Jas’s current address and details about his neighbors.

A smile crept onto her lips as she spoke to her female bodyguard, “I’ll be staying in YODC City for a while.

I’ve already picked out a house.

You guys should choose nearby and settle down.”

As Jas and Gina were driving back to the company, Gina, sitting in the passenger seat, turned to Jas with concern, “Did I do a good job hosting today?”

“It was quite good,” Jas replied with a smile.

“But…

I always felt she wasn’t fully satisfied, especially the last place we went, she seed rather distracted.”

“Our YODC City is just a small place; if she didn’t like it, there’s nothing much we could do.

You just needed to show her the local culture and customs.”

Gina nodded and said, “That makes sense.

Maybe I put too much importance on her, which is why I always worry about making mistakes.”

Upon returning to the company, Jas didn’t have much to handle that afternoon.

In the evening, Gina didn’t ask him for a ride, and Jas went straight ho, finally able to sleep well after not staying ho for many days.

A few days ago, Emily Jenkins had called him, wanting to have a al he cooked, but Jas was busy, so it didn’t happen.

Today, he actually considered having dinner with the flight attendant, but upon calling Emily, her phone was off, probably because she was working, so Jas had to let it be.

After a simple al at ho, Jas went to a bar that night.

Today he wasn’t looking to flirt, just to have a drink and relax, but there he saw Helen Wilson, the policewoman, not in uniform and sitting with a man in his forties in a booth.

Observing the two, Jas realized they were on a mission, and their target was a man in a booth in the corner.
