Anna Smith wanted Jack Carter to escape, but now more than ten security guards from the inn have arrived, blocking the corridor. Even if Jack Carter wanted to run, he couldn’t get away now.

anwhile, the inn’s security guards squeezed past John Brown and the others, helping Henry Forman up. Henry Forman’s face now resembled a pig’s head, with blood dripping from his nose and mouth. As he opened his mouth, two front teeth fell out. Jack Carter had certainly hit him hard.

"I... I..." At this point, Henry Forman nearly fainted from rage. It wasn’t just the pain from the beating that bothered him; it was the humiliation. He was a sowhat prominent figure in YODC City, yet he was beaten so badly by a re security guard.

"Nancy Johnson! I..." Jack Carter grasped Anna Smith’s hand, choking on his words.

Anna Smith looked at Jack Carter, feeling imnse pain, and gripped his hand firmly. She hadn’t spent a day without thinking about Jack Carter, and seeing him today made her heart ache even more. But at this mont, she was frantic. Jack Carter had beaten Henry Forman like this; how would they deal with the aftermath? She could endure humiliation to please Henry Forman, but what about Jack Carter? This Henry Forman was certainly going to find soone to kill Jack Carter.

"Kid, you dare hit %... Good... I’ll make sure you suffer the consequences." Henry Forman spoke with a lisp, his face twisted in anger as he trembled holding his phone.

"Brother, I got beaten up at Little Tiger’s Crane Inn... Not by Little Tiger’s n, just a group of punks... Okay!" Henry Forman handed the phone to the floor manager and said, "My brother wants to talk to you."

The floor manager felt secretly troubled, quickly took the phone, and after just a greeting, heard yelling from the other end. After a while, he hung up the phone, sternly instructing the security guards, "Watch them closely; don’t let any of them escape."

The inn’s security guards imdiately glared at John Brown and the others, ready to move if they weren’t all in the security business.

"Gentlen, you can’t bla our inn; please step into this room and wait for a mont." The floor manager pointed to a private room beside them.

At this point, Jack Carter and the others looked toward Jas Brown, unsure what to do. Jas Brown casually smiled and said, "Let’s go; we’ll sit for a while."

Once they entered, the door was shut. Anna Smith followed Jack Carter inside; Henry Forman didn’t have the ti to pay her any mind, only thinking about dealing with Jas Brown and the others.

As soon as Qian Laoshi entered, he ran to the window and imdiately said, with a wry face, "It’s over; there’s a railing outside, we can’t escape through the window."

John Davis gritted his teeth and said, "What’s there to be afraid of? No matter who cos, we’ll fight them."

Jack Carter now felt the seriousness of the situation, and his earlier impulsiveness faded away. He remorsefully said, "My impulsiveness hard everyone."

Jas Brown pulled out a cigarette and tossed one to each person, saying, "Don’t worry, I’m here, nothing will happen. Little Dave, your performance earlier was manly; how can you be weak in front of your girlfriend now?"

Anna Smith was quite a smart girl. Seeing Jas Brown’s calm deanor, she imdiately said, "Brother, Henry Forman is very powerful. If you have friends, quickly call them to help. As long as you’re okay, Jack Carter and I will accept our fate."

Jas Brown looked at Anna Smith, slowly saying, "Let ask you this, do you love Jack Carter?"

Anna Smith was stunned by Jas Brown’s sudden question, turned to Jack Carter, and gave a bitter smile, saying, "I always have, but..."

Jas Brown interrupted Anna Smith, saying, "No ifs or buts, just answer if you love or don’t love."

Anna Smith bit her lip and said, "Love!"

Jack Carter was imdiately shaking with excitent.

Jas Brown continued, "Good, now tell , why did you leave Jack Carter and go with Henry Forman?"

Anna Smith’s expression turned bitter, saying, "A while ago, my dad got into a dispute while selling vegetables at the market and injured soone. My dad was arrested, so I sought help from others and eventually found Henry Forman who agreed to help. But who knew..." Anna Smith’s tears suddenly flowed, choking up as she said, "The night I wanted to treat him to dinner, he drugged my drink and then... raped ."

Jack Carter imdiately slamd the table in anger. Any man would be furious hearing about his girlfriend being assaulted.

Anna Smith glanced at Jack Carter and said even more sadly, "I did sothing that betrayed Johnny, knowing I could never be with Johnny again. Plus, my dad was still detained. To get my dad released, I..."

Jas Brown sighed lightly and said, "You can’t be blad for this, don’t cry. Jack Carter, let ask you!"

Jack Carter looked up at Jas Brown.

John Brown slowly said, "Knowing Anna Smith’s reasons, can you forgive her?"

Jack Carter looked at Anna Smith, while she painfully covered her face, unable to face Jack Carter. This made Jack’s heart ache even more, and he said, "I can!"

"After this, when you’re with Anna, will there still be any grudge?"

Jack Carter shook his head resolutely and said, "No, this isn’t Nancy’s fault; it’s all Henry Forman’s fault."

John Brown nodded and said, "Then will you still treat her as well as before?"

"Yes!" Jack Carter replied loudly, then suddenly held Anna’s hand and said, "Nancy, I know your heart is pure. I will always love you just like before, without the slightest change."

"Johnny!" Anna imdiately threw herself into Jack’s arms and cried bitterly. The grievances she suffered during these days, unable to confide in anyone, were incredibly painful every day. But at this mont, Jack’s words were exactly what she needed as an outlet for her grievance.

In the room, apart from Anna, there were all big n. Yet even they appeared moved by the couple’s emotions.

Qian Laoshi leaned over to Jas Brown with a wry smile and said, "Manager Johnson, what do we do now? From what they’re saying, it seems they’re planning to go against the mob."

Jas Brown took a puff of his cigarette and said, "Is the mob scary?"

Qian Laoshi responded with a bitter smile, "In a straight fight, we’re not afraid, but those guys can do anything."

Jas Brown patted Qian Laoshi’s shoulder and said, "Relax, with here, nobody can ss with you. How can we let our brothers be bullied so easily? If soone has taken our brothers’ won, we’ll just take them back."

Jack Carter had long seen Jas Brown as his pillar and said excitedly, "Manager Johnson, just tell us what to do. I only have a dollar; the trouble has already started, so I’m ready to go all in."

Jas Brown chuckled and said, "What’s the point of going all in? Henry Forman bullied your girlfriend. We should not only take her back but also take his woman, take his company, and leave him with nothing. Only then can we quench our anger."

Everyone in the room widened their eyes. While everyone else was thinking about self-preservation, Jas Brown was thinking about how to deal with Henry Forman, and with such ambition too.

"Ha ha, don’t believe , do you?"

Though no one agreed verbally, their facial expressions betrayed their true thoughts.

Jas Brown chuckled and said, "Alright, if you don’t believe , so be it. We’ll just wait and see."

At this mont, there was suddenly a clatter of footsteps in the hallway outside, and then the door was slamd open as a large group of people barged in. Henry Forman was among them, pointing at the people inside and yelling, "Brother Two, these bastards are the ones who hit ."

The one called Brother Two was a man in his mid-thirties with a strikingly dark face, which earned him the nickna Brother Blackjack. He embraced the moniker, as his face was a living emblem; anyone who saw it knew who he was.

Brother Blackjack was involved in pure criminal activities, with drug selling as his main inco. Unlike Brother Bob, who also dabbed in legitimate businesses, Brother Blackjack was more ruthless and profitable due to his line of business, already having several lives on his hands.

Henry Forman was his cousin. They had a good relationship since childhood. Though Henry was doing legitimate business now, he often helped out undercover. If not, Henry’s business wouldn’t have run so smoothly, with all his competitors being taken care of by Blackjack.

When he heard that Henry had been beaten, and knowing who Henry was, it felt like a challenge to Brother Blackjack’s authority. So he personally brought over twenty brothers to co over.

Although Jack Carter and his friends were brimming with youthful vigor, they turned pale at the entrance of a large group of criminals. Instinctively, they stood together, yet maintained their dignity as they straightened their backs.

"Beat them!" Brother Blackjack roared, not even questioning who Jas Brown and the others were, deciding to act before speaking.

Once he spoke, the gang imdiately charged. Unlike the useless lot brought by Henry Forman, these n were seasoned fighters who wouldn’t hesitate to go to the extre. As they charged in, their montum was different.

Anna scread as her legs gave way from fear, while Jack Carter and the others found themselves in a tight spot. They were outnumbered and were questioning if they could even leave here in one piece today.
