66: Chapter 66: Cold-blooded Animals 66: Chapter 66: Cold-blooded Animals “You can butcher him,” Jas Brown pointed at Emma Campbell’s father standing behind Mr.

Johnson.

Jas Brown’s statent imdiately made everyone in the room’s spine tingle.

Among them, not a single person was of any significance.

The so-called Mr.

Johnson was rely the owner of a small karaoke lounge, keeping a bunch of hostesses, and making a little money through various scams.

It was only because of that he had a few lackeys hanging around him and was addressed as Mr.

Johnson.

The worst they’d ever done was get into fights, breaking people’s arms or legs, and as for chopping off Emma Campbell’s father’s hand, it was just a threat.

But Jas Brown’s words amounted to a call to murder, which was a shock to them all.

Mr.

Johnson, having sowhat more guts, huffed and said, “Who on earth are you?

This is my ho.

Do you think it’s proper to shout and cause a scene here?” However, his words were much more polite than usual, mostly because of the violent aura that Brown exuded, which made him feel this guy was dangerous.

Even with so many people here, he still felt that he might not be able to handle the man in front of him.

Jas turned his gaze to Mr.

Johnson and said indifferently, “Emma Campbell now belongs to .”

Mr.

Johnson’s face changed, and he said sternly, “What do you an by that?

Are you standing up for Emma Campbell?”

“That’s right.

Do you have a problem with that?” Jas stood with his hands behind his back, showing no regard for the people in front of him.

Mr.

Johnson’s eyes shifted as he said, “Since Emma Campbell belongs to you, should you not also be responsible for her father’s debts?”

Jas shook his head, pulled up a chair, and sat down saying, “I don’t care.

You can chop off his hand.”

Jas’s attitude left everyone baffled.

Emma Campbell’s father, hiding behind Mr.

Johnson, kept sneaking glances at Jas, unable to figure out what was going on.

Mr.

Johnson felt suppressed by Jas’s dominance, which irked him.

With so many of his own people around, it was intolerable for this one man to be so arrogant.

If word got out, he wouldn’t be able to hold his head up in Hubris County again.

After Jas sat down, the pressure on him eased sowhat and he glared, challenging, “Brother, share your na.

If you carry enough clout, I, John Smith, will certainly give you face.”

With his leg crossed, Jas replied, “You don’t need to probe my background.

You and your little gangsters don’t have the right to know who I am.”

At this, Mr.

Johnson felt extrely annoyed, yet Jas’s brazenness still made him wary.

In Hubris County, Mr.

Johnson was just a small-ti hoodlum.

There were many more formidable than him, and in YODC City, even more so.

If he had truly provoked soone untouchable, it would be real trouble.

He forced down his anger and said, “Brother, you’re not taking seriously, are you?

An eye for an eye, a debt to be paid.

Emma Campbell’s father owes money; surely there’s nothing wrong with collecting on that debt?”

“Of course, there’s nothing wrong with it.

I’ve been listening from outside and haven’t stopped you from collecting.

If he doesn’t pay, you said you’d chop off his hand.

Go ahead and do it, I definitely won’t be paying his debt.”

That truly set Mr.

Johnson ablaze.

He glared and, unable to grasp the situation, didn’t dare to lay a hand on Jas yet.

He suddenly pulled Emma Campbell’s father over, grabbing his hand and whipping out a waterlon knife, shouting, “Don’t think I won’t do it.”

Emma Campbell’s father panicked, nearly wetting himself with fear.

His primal instinct for survival made him jerk his hand away and rush to Jas, exclaiming, “Son-in-law, my dear son-in-law, I’m Emma’s father.

She’s with you; you can’t ignore .”

“Get lost!” Jas kicked Emma’s father square in the chest without a hint of rcy, sending him tumbling back several tis.

Jas’s action puzzled everyone.

Since Emma was his, he should, at the very least, show so respect to her father.

But he kicked Emma’s father, and it was clear he had used considerable force, otherwise, the man would not have rolled on the floor as he did.

Emma’s father struggled to his feet, clutching his chest and coughing several tis before he could catch his breath.

He stamred, “You…

Didn’t you say that Emma was with you?”

“I did say that, but…” Jas’s gaze held a chilling coldness, his voice as if coming from the depths of Hell, “you scumbag, are not fit to be associated with .”

Mr.

Johnson was growing more infuriated by Jas’s disregard and shouted, “Brother, there are rules in this world.

You co into my house and act so high and mighty.

Isn’t that a bit too presumptuous?”

Jas smiled coldly and replied, “Do you have a problem with that?”

Mr.

Johnson’s facial skin twitched, and he said viciously, “It’s not about whether he submits or not, but he has a debt to settle, doesn’t he?”

Jas swung his legs and said, “Alright, I’ll give you two choices: one is to let take him away; the other is to chop off his hand and let take him away.

It’s your call because I’m definitely not paying the debt.”

Mr.

Johnson was thoroughly infuriated.

Jas was just too disdainful of them.

He angrily said, “Since you don’t take us seriously, don’t bla us for being impolite.”

“Fine by .

If you can keep here, I wouldn’t mind paying you.”

Despite Jas’s confidence, Mr.

Johnson felt sowhat intimidated.

But action had to be taken at this point; he didn’t believe that they, five n, couldn’t handle one Jas.

He slamd down the waterlon knife and ordered, “Get him!”

Five n imdiately charged at Jas.

They didn’t carry knives—those were usually for intimidation, not for actual fighting, since killing soone would make life very difficult for them in that area.

These five n were all quite brawny and well-known for their fighting skills, but they lacked systematic training.

Being tough fighters just ant they were daring and ruthless.

They could indeed scare the average person, but against Jas, they were like children.

With a kick swift as lightning, one of the attackers was sent flying, crashing onto a mahjong table.

Jas caught the fists of two others with his hands.

With a little effort, they scread in agony and knelt before him, trying to pull their arms free but failing to budge as Jas’s grip seed to almost crush their bones.

Mr.

Johnson and another man had been slower to act and, before they could even reach Jas, he had already taken down three.

Now they were awkwardly holding their arms, not knowing whether to attack or retreat.

It was only then that Jas finally released them.

The released n, exerting force backward, tumbled over and struggled to get up, staying far away from Jas, fear clearly visible in their eyes.

Mr.

Johnson felt his heart pound uncontrollably, sweat pouring down his forehead.

The opponent hadn’t even stood up and had already laid out three of their n.

If he were to attack, it was certain he’d get beaten too.

The man before them was too powerful, surely stronger than anyone in Hubris County.

Carefully lowering his arms, Mr.

Johnson saluted Jas with a fist and said, “Brother, you have impressive skills.

I admit defeat.

You can take him, and the debt is cancelled.” Saying this, he took out the IOU, presenting it respectfully to Jas.

Jas casually took it, glanced at it, then tore it to shreds, nodded, and said, “Good, let’s consider this matter settled.”

Even though Mr.

Johnson felt that Jas was acting too high and mighty and didn’t respect him, he knew the man had the strength to back it up.

Even if they’d wielded knives, they wouldn’t stand a chance, and aggravating Jas might just turn them into the real victims.

So, they chose to back down after weighing the options.

Emma Campbell’s father, seeing how formidable Jas was, forcing Mr.

Johnson to tear up the IOU, was ecstatic.

He ran up to Jas with a smile on his face and said, “Son-in-law, you are incredibly capable.”

Jas looked coldly at Emma Campbell’s father, then, with a sudden sweep of his hand, slapped Emma’s father’s face repeatedly, more than a dozen tis.

The slaps echoed loudly—Mr.

Johnson and the others felt as though the slaps were landing on their own faces, turning pale not just from the sound but also from the sheer shock.

Even though they were no strangers to roughness, they would at least show a decent face to their in-laws, never daring to slap their father-in-law.

This guy was not only a fierce fighter but also indifferent to family ties—an utter cold-hearted animal.

Thinking back, if the confrontation had been more intense, they didn’t know how Jas would have treated them.

The more Mr.

Johnson thought about it, the more relieved he felt.

The three n who had been beaten could originally hardly accept their situation, but now they felt a chill down their spines, realizing that Jas might have held back.

If he hadn’t, their bones might have been more than just sore—they could have been shattered.
