Lucy Campbell also saw Jas Brown and walked straight to his side, smiling sweetly, and said, “Sorry to keep you waiting.”
Jas chuckled and said, “It’s nothing, I just got here too.” Usually, when he saw Lucy, Jas felt very relaxed, but today seeing her gave him an odd feeling.
The bodyguards imdiately separated them from the other people as they spoke and escorted them out of the airport. Once Lucy was seated in Jas’ car, they followed in their cars parked at the airport.
“Why do you seem a bit off today?” Sitting next to Jas, Lucy looked at him puzzled; she had never seen him so lacking in energy since they t.
Jas chuckled and said, “Just tired.”
“Tired? What tired you out?” Lucy was more puzzled; soone like Jas shouldn’t be worn out easily by ordinary tasks, and it didn’t seem like he had done any physical labor.
Jas chuckled and said, “Let tell you, but don’t ntion it to Gina.”
“Hmm?”
“When you called, I was at Alice Brown and Laura’s place.”
“At their place?” Lucy was first surprised, then slightly frowned.
Jas intentionally said this to make Lucy think less of him and abandon any ideas about him. Although she might truly care for him, he felt they could never be together. It was better for Lucy to let go of him rather than waste her ti creating uncertainties for him.
He kept watching Lucy’s expression secretly; seeing her frown seed to indicate disapproval, as though he achieved his goal.
“And that tired you out? It couldn’t be, right?” Lucy frowned slightly before turning to Jas playfully.
Lucy’s reaction left Jas a bit puzzled. Can’t she be annoyed by him fooling around with them without any concern? He brazenly added more, “Those two are like Little Demonesses; they didn’t rest all morning, almost drained dry. Otherwise, I wouldn’t be so tired.”
“Oh, you n, need to set limits on such things. Being too frequent isn’t good for your health. I should remind the two of them to mind their boundaries when they’re with you.”
“You remind them?” Jas opened his eyes wide at Lucy. If they weren’t on the airport highway, he would have stopped.
Lucy seriously said, “Yes, n like you have little self-discipline on such things, but they should control themselves, especially two of them with you, which isn’t good.”
Jas’s mouth twitched. What kind of woman was Lucy truly? If she liked him, shouldn’t she be angry about this situation? Why is she acting so naturally, even absurdly?
“Also, like this, Gina will notice when you get ho tonight, so how will you explain? Really, you need to be careful; you’re making worry for you.” Lucy shook her head and sighed.
Jas coughed slightly and said, “Lucy, we’re good friends, but about this… aren’t you bothered?”
Lucy smiled slightly and said, “As you said, we are good friends. If a friend’s faults an not treating them as a friend, then what’s the point? I ought to help, besides, you’re young and fooling around a bit in this matter is normal, as long as you don’t overdo it or make Gina sad, it’s forgivable.”
Jas’s mouth twitched again, and Lucy, seeing his reaction, smiled warmly: “Worried you can’t explain things tonight? Need to cover for you, take you out tonight so you can rest, and be better tomorrow?”
Jas laughed dryly, “Lucy, you’re being too good to .”
Lucy had never defined their relationship outright, always treating him as a good friend, so Jas couldn’t outright reject her.
“Haha, we’re good friends; I must consider things for you. I wouldn’t want to see any issues between you and Gina.”
“Do you truly hope Gina and I stay together forever?” Jas quickly asked.
“Of course, why would I hope for your divorce?” Lucy rolled her eyes and said, “Gina is a good girl, being with her is your blessing. If you fool around outside, I can help, but if you let Gina down, I’ll definitely be on her side.”
Listening to Lucy, Jas was truly confused. If she had feelings for him, she wouldn’t just settle like Emma or Charlotte as a third party. It was impossible; why would she wish him well with Gina?
But if Lucy had no feelings for him, then everything they shared previously left Jas sensing sothing was off.
“Why are you silent? Think I’m not a good friend?” Lucy nudged Jas.
Jas laughed awkwardly, “If you’re still not a good friend, I won’t have any decent friends left.”
“Haha, then good. Tonight, co with to et so people; don’t go ho so you can explain.”
Jas readily agreed; he wanted to see what Lucy was up to or test her true feelings tonight.
“By the way, who are we eting today?” Jas decided and asked with a smile.
“Who else? Just so friends. They didn’t catch this flight, having fun outside, now bothering again.”
“Why did they co to YODC City?”
“They got bored in the Capital of SSUP, decided to change locations. Such idle folks go wherever they wish; I planned to dodge them. When I ca to YODC City, they followed, nothing I can do. You can’t go ho tonight, so play my boyfriend again.”
“Pretending again, huh? Won’t be as wild as last ti?” Jas asked casually yet watched for Lucy’s reaction sneakily.
Lucy blushed slightly and said, “Perhaps not; you know how crazy they get, not much I can do.”
“Could be more extre then?”
“I doubt it; I’ll control things, and you, you rascal, won’t gain much anyway, why act startled?”
Jas coughed lightly and said, “I’ve gotten lucky, but with you, the pressure is huge.”
“What’s the pressure? I treat you as a good friend; that’s why I ask for help. With soone else, I couldn’t handle it. Are you reluctant to help?”
Jas imdiately said, “Certainly not, but this isn’t what friends usually do.”
“Well, can’t be helped, you’re my only male friend I can accept being close with. Anyone else, a touch and I couldn’t bear it. Unless… you think of as Gina; that may ease your mind.”
“Think of you as Gina…” Jas turned, gave Lucy an odd look.
Lucy huffed and teased, “I an, in front of others, imagine that, not pretended to be your wife, don’t get carried away.”
Jas muttered inwardly; not that he would get carried away, rather the idea was too troubleso.
