21: Chapter 21: Hero Saves People 21: Chapter 21: Hero Saves People The two stepped outside, but Gina Lopez’s face still blushed.

Just then, Emily Lopez ca out from the opposite door and imdiately exclaid as if discovering a new continent, “Sis, your face is so red, you must have been up to no good.”

Gina’s face turned even redder and she glared at Emily, scolding, “Nonsense.” However, if her sister could think that, then she wouldn’t suspect that her relationship with Jas Brown was a sham, which wasn’t such a bad thing after all.

At this mont, Jas Brown felt his mouth go dry as he observed.

Emily and Gina were wearing identical blouses which perfectly accentuated their curvaceous figures.

Moreover, as twins, they were both so flawless, so beautiful, that as a man, he couldn’t help but feel the urge.

Emily sensed Jas’s gaze on her and stuck out her tongue at him, saying, “Be careful, or my sister will have you sleep on the floor tonight.”

Gina imdiately turned around and looked coldly at Jas, who coughed dryly to hide his embarrassnt.

By this ti, Emily had already run over to their parents.

Jas quickly followed suit, fearing Gina might explode.

Jonathan Lopez and his wife offered so auspicious words, and then the family of five went back to their rooms to rest.

When Jas and Gina entered their room, Gina stared coldly at Jas and said, “Keep your distance from Emily.”

He chuckled awkwardly, “I’m not that close to her.”

“Hmph, rember who you are.

You’re my boyfriend.”

“I know that.

But since I’m your boyfriend, I can’t pretend not to know my girlfriend’s sister, right?

It’s also part of our national tradition for sisters-in-law to tease their brothers-in-law.”

“I want you to have no designs on Emily.

Let tell you, if you dare to do anything to Emily, I’ll make sure you die a very ugly death.”

“This job is really not easy.

Okay, okay, I’ll try to do better to satisfy you, Boss Lopez.”

Having said that, Jas took his own blanket and things, placed them on the floor, and then lay down wearing his new shirt.

Gina didn’t say much more, turned off the lights, and went to bed.

That night, Gina slept more peacefully, perhaps because Jas had been well-behaved yesterday, and she didn’t have to worry about him doing anything to her.

She was also afraid that if Jas fell asleep first and started snoring, she wouldn’t be able to sleep.

In any case, she quickly fell asleep.

When she woke up, she found that Jas was no longer in the room; his blanket and everything were gone.

She hurriedly got dressed, opened the door, and heard Jas talking with her mother in the kitchen, which pleased Gina.

The guy was really behaving quite well.

“Gina, go wake up Sandra, too.

We’ll have visitors coming over to give their New Year’s greetings soon,” Jonathan Lopez said to Gina at that mont.

Gina Lopez nodded and went over to pull up the reluctant Sandra from the bed.

After breakfast, it was already eight-thirty and the sound of knocking on the door started.

It was ti for New Year visits.

The apartnt that Jonathan Lopez owned was bought through a group purchase organized by his company, so many of his coworkers lived in the sa building.

Being a leader, his subordinates naturally ca to pay a New Year visit, so the visitors were arriving in a continuous stream from early morning.

“Hey, were you the one who pushed down yesterday?” A man in his thirties walked in, and after he had paid his respects to Mr.

and Mrs.

Lopez, he saw Jas Brown and asked with surprise.

Gina instantly frowned, while Jonathan Lopez, sowhat puzzled, said, “Little Dave, what happened?

This is our Gina’s boyfriend, Jas Brown.”

The man nad Little Dave looked at Jas and excitedly said, “Then it’s him for sure.

Last night, there was a firework that didn’t go off in the air but exploded when it hit the ground.

I didn’t even notice it.

It was Little Lee who pushed down and saved from being hit by the firework.

Director Lopez, you know the power of those fireworks.

Little Lee literally saved my life.”

Jas Brown also knew he couldn’t deny it and said with a smile, “Mr.

Dave, don’t put it that way.

I just did what I could.”

“This wasn’t just doing what you could.

There were six or seven people there yesterday.

You saved everyone.

Otherwise, we’d all have been in big trouble.

Everyone was looking for you when they got up, but you had already left.

We didn’t realize you were with Director Lopez, or else we would’ve co to thank you sooner.”

Thinking Jas Brown had caused so trouble, Jonathan Lopez imdiately felt much relieved upon hearing this and chuckled, “Don’t be so formal.

We’re all neighbors here.”

At that mont, Emily was even more triumphant, and she rapidly recounted last night’s events like a stream of jumping beans, even though she had not seen them for herself.

Her imagination was incredibly vivid, and her storytelling was exceptionally engaging, making it sound as if she had witnessed everything herself.

Especially when talking about Jas Brown, she made him out to be incredibly heroic, practically a Superman akin to Spiderman.

The more Mr.

and Mrs.

Lopez listened, the happier they looked, and the more satisfied they beca with Jas Brown.

This incident showcased not only a person’s character but also their capability.

To be able to push away six or seven people without letting anyone get hurt in such a situation, in the absence of exceptional ability, it would have been impossible.

Gina was also looking at Jas Brown in a new light.

In her eyes, Jas was just a small security guard, soone who could only work as a guard, and was definitely not considered talented, at best just physically strong.

But now, it seed that Jas Brown was not that simple after all.

At least from what happened, Jas had done sothing most people couldn’t.

However, when Gina heard that Jas had ended up on top of Emily, she frowned.

Once the visitors had left, she imdiately pulled Jas, who was receiving praise from her parents, into the room.

“What’s the matter?

You’re not going to say that you were against buying fireworks from the beginning, are you?” Jas looked at Gina with a wry smile.

Gina huffed and said, “You’ve realized it already, so what’s there for to say?

I just want to know why you pinned Emily down.

Couldn’t you have just pushed her away?”

Jas imdiately widened his eyes at Gina, visibly annoyed, “I’m telling you, Boss Lopez, I didn’t know the others.

I pushed them down to help, and whether they got hurt or not, I didn’t care.

But Emily is your sister, and I was out with her.

I had to take responsibility for her safety.

I used my body to shield her from the blast.

Can’t you see that?”

Gina was taken aback for a mont.

Jas continued, “At the very least, this could count as risking myself to save another.

You don’t praise , nor offer a bonus, and now you’re even assuming I was trying to take advantage of Emily.

In that situation, do you think I had the ti to consider such things?

And another thing…

Boss Lopez, can’t you be a bit more optimistic and not always assu the worst of others, alright?”

After saying that, Jas Brown didn’t wait for Gina’s response.

He shrugged off her arm and walked out of the room.
