The logistics departnt was quite busy, and Sarah Utah was working so hard there.

The two had a cheerful conversation and then returned to their work until they finally finished around seven o’clock.
Having packed her things, Sarah stood up to stretch and said, “Big Brother Brown, I really owe you for your help.
Without you, I would have needed two days to finish all this work.
To express my gratitude, let treat you to dinner tonight.”
Jas Brown chuckled and said, “Getting treated to dinner by a beautiful lady?

Sarah’s face turned red and she chided him, “Big Brother Brown, you’re teasing again.”
Jas Brown replied earnestly, “I’m telling the truth.”
“Big Brother Brown, you’ve learned to be naughty,” Sarah pouted cutely, picking up her bag.
Her shy deanor was incredibly charming.
The two of them entered the elevator and pressed the button for the ground floor.
Right after the doors closed and the elevator began to descend, it started making creaking noises.
Sarah grew a bit nervous and said, “Why is it making that sound?
The elevator isn’t going to break down and trap us, right?”
A loud “clank!” interrupted her words as the elevator suddenly plunged downward at a rapid speed.
Jas Brown and Sarah suddenly found themselves in a state of weightlessness, and Sarah scread shrilly with fright.
Getting stuck in an elevator isn’t the worst thing; the truly terrifying part is experiencing a free fall like this.
It was essentially like a free fall motion, where people inside plumt with the elevator, similar to falling directly from a great height.
Especially since they started from the eighth floor, if they were to continue falling to the first floor like this, the two of them would almost certainly be killed.
Jas Brown had never expected to be so unlucky to encounter such an incident.
Elevator free falls were incredibly rare and didn’t happen more than a few tis a year, with the odds being nearly one in a billion.
Unfortunately, they were now facing such a perilous situation.
But when Jas Brown encountered such a situation, he didn’t panic.
In the weightless state, he still managed to rush to the door, pressing each floor’s button rapidly in succession, then yanked Sarah Utah violently, lifting her up while his legs bent slightly, with his back pressed tightly against the elevator’s wall.

If it were just Jas himself, he was confident that he wouldn’t sustain any major injuries, but holding Sarah, he wasn’t so sure about himself.
His muscles tensed up instantly, and his ntal energy was highly focused.
The more dangerous the situation, the more Jas was able to tap into the potential of his body.
“Bang!” With a muffled sound, the elevator finally stopped between the third and second floors, and the lights inside the elevator went out at once, plunging the tiny space into darkness.
Sarah kept screaming nonstop, an instinctive reaction.
Even though the elevator had stopped, she was still calling out, completely unaware that the danger had been mitigated.
“Thud!”
Although Jas was alive, he was in considerable pain.
His knees, having withstood the force, were excruciatingly painful, as if the tendons were torn; his legs couldn’t hold him up anymore, and he collapsed onto the ground, with Sarah falling down to sit on his lap.

Light suddenly filled the elevator, revealing Jas seated on the ground, his face etched with pain.
“Big Brother Brown, what’s wrong?” Sarah squatted down, looking at Jas with extre nervousness.
Jas grimaced and said, “It’s nothing.
My leg just hurts a bit.
I should be fine after a rest.”
The elevator hadn’t fallen many floors, just four or five, but since it was a comrcial building with better construction, it was practically equivalent to seven or eight floors of a residential building.
Additionally, because he was holding Sarah, Jas was injured.

Sarah didn’t imdiately respond, but just stared blankly at Jas.
Then, biting her lip hard, she grabbed Jas’s arm with a determined expression, saying, “Big Brother Brown, you were injured this severely trying to save .
I believe that if it hadn’t been for , you definitely wouldn’t have gotten hurt so badly.
If your leg is really broken, then I’ll…”
“Then you’ll do what?” At this mont, Jas’s face didn’t show as much pain but a sowhat mischievous curiosity instead.
“I’ll…
I’ll take care of you for life.” As Sarah said this, her small face turned red from the light of her phone’s screen, yet she looked extraordinarily resolute.
Jas’s eyes widened in surprise.
He had only been making a joke, who would have thought Sarah would say sothing like this.
Facing Jas’s gaze, Sarah’s chest heaved a few tis, then she stated, “Big Brother Brown, do you not believe ?
If you hadn’t lifted up, I would definitely have been the one injured, not you.
Trust , I will take care of you for life.”
Jas grinned wryly and gave a dry laugh, “Sarah, I was…
I was joking with you, I’m fine.”
