After sparring for over ten minutes, Su Yanyi finally appeared satisfied and withdrew. Qin Jiran then dutifully went off to prepare breakfast. Yanyi returned to their bedroom and took another shower, and by the ti she finished, breakfast was ready. She began eating with pleasure, and thus a beautiful day had begun.
"The gathering starts at six this evening, should I pick you up from the office?" Qin Jiran asked, feeling a slight thrill at the thought of tonight’s event. This wasn’t because he was excited to et classmates, but because he would finally get to attend a public event with Su Yanyi officially as husband and wife. He was truly looking forward to it.
"Co over early, I’ve had soone prepare clothes for you," Su Yanyi had been anticipating the gathering since she heard about it and had arranged for Kang Zhong to prepare for it. Her sense of anticipation was different from Qin Jiran’s, though. She was eagerly awaiting the chance to see Wang Zhilin—to give that loathso woman a good shock.
"Would two hours ahead of ti be enough?" Qin Jiran asked, sowhat surprised. Such class reunions usually didn’t require such formal attire, but since Yanyi had taken the trouble to prepare clothes, he naturally had no objections. Moreover, it sounded like she had also prepared clothes for him, which only increased his anticipation.
"Yes."
Around three in the afternoon, Qin Jiran arrived at Su Yanyi’s office. He greeted Kang Zhong upon seeing him in the hallway.
"Brother Kang, is she still busy?" he inquired, worried that he might have arrived too early and could be interrupting Yanyi’s work.
"She’s discussing a collaboration with President Ling of Hua’s. You should be aware of it—the charity event for Tianhai. President Ling has high standards and keeps choosing artists who are not available. They’re finalizing the list with President Su right now," Kang Zhong said with a resigned tone. The selection for the charity event was his job, but the other party wasn’t satisfied with his choices, and those who were suggested were all unavailable. The negotiations had been going in circles until they finally reached President Su’s desk.
"Then I’ll wait," Qin Jiran decided, taking a seat in the resting area outside the office.
"I heard from President Su that you two are going to a class reunion tonight," Kang Zhong stated matter-of-factly, probably knowing more about Yanyi’s plans than even Qin Jiran.
"Yes, a university class reunion," Qin Jiran confird.
"Just a university class reunion? It seems like President Su is taking it quite seriously, having prepare outfits for you both, almost as if you’re about to walk a red carpet," Kang Zhong said candidly. As an assistant, he knew what could be discussed and what couldn’t and with whom.
"Wang Zhilin will be there too," Qin Jiran gave this as the reason, and it indeed was the case.
Su Yanyi, although usually quite low-key in her dealings, had a way of letting the whole world know about her understatent. But there was an aspect of her that was very combative, like the sparring earlier that morning or the preparations for the class reunion. These activities let Qin Jiran feel her eagerness and excitent, which was very apparent.
"I see," Kang Zhong said, understanding. He wasn’t unaware that Wang Zhilin would be present, but now that Qin Jiran had ntioned it, he suddenly realized the underlying issue: President Su was gearing up to face a rival in love, which explained her unusual attention to detail for the event.
