Amidst the cheers and shouts of the crowd, the fight on the platform finally ca to an end. One stood, staggering but also covered in blood, while the other lay motionless on the ground, it being unclear whether he was alive or already dead. Obviously, no one cared about his fate. Only the dical staff hurried up to the platform, carried away the one lying down, and left behind the one standing.

The end of one fight ant the start of another. The winner had the right to defend the platform and wait for the next challenger who had already registered. However, they could also opt to give up. After all, most of those who ca here to fight were free agents, and the organizers didn’t wish for every participant to be carried off.

At this mont, the winning fighter on the platform wisely chose to give up continuing the fight. Considering his injuries, it seed like giving up was the only option if he didn’t want to die. So he collected his prize money and left the stage. The prize was a bank card with no password, containing one million US dollars.

One million US dollars might not be much to those who could afford to attend Luxury Liner, yet for their bodyguards and certain specially invited individuals, it represented a significant inco. That’s why there were those willing to enter the fights and why the audience bet on the contestants.

There was no shortage of registrants for the fights. The two who stepped onto the platform next were neither bunny-nor-weaklings. One was of East Asian descent and the other Caucasian. As soon as the duo appeared on stage, bets were placed by the audience below, who had three minutes to do so. This also served as preparation ti for the fighters.

Three minutes passed quickly, and both fighters charged at each other almost simultaneously. The blows of their fists were fierce and highly entertaining, eliciting excited screams from the audience. The Caucasian seed more robust, going by the codena Old K, while the East Asian’s martial arts appeared more dominating, his codena being Black Tiger. The crowd shouted their support for the contestants they had bet on, their voices a mix of languages, which made Su Yanyi chuckle as she listened.

"Doesn’t it resemble a United Nations eting? I’d say Luxury Liner probably gathers people from over a hundred different countries," Su Yanyi said playfully.

Qin Jiran said nothing, just watched the two on the platform clashing with a cold expression. The cacophony around him felt alien and also convinced him that these people were more like lunatics who ought to be taken ho for treatnt.

"What’s wrong, don’t like it? Or just not used to it?" Su Yanyi noticed the man’s expression and asked with so curiosity.

To like or to get used to? Such a question seed profoundly aningful. It might be difficult to change dislike into like, but making the unfamiliar familiar appeared to be much easier. Like the audience present, each of them possessing assets in the nine or ten digits, they too might have initially been uncomfortable with such a scene. But as they watched over ti, experiencing more, it beca routine.

And this was the downfall of human nature, or, one could say, the incredible adaptability of humans. No environnt could truly cause humans to fear, for they would inevitably conquer any setting with their distinctive ability to adapt!

"I just feel it’s pointless," Qin Jiran said, now looking at Su Yanyi as if observing her expression while carefully choosing his words to convey his thoughts. He didn’t want Yanyi to think he was rejecting this place. He felt this place might belong to the Su family, or even more to Yanyi’s world. What he should do was to integrate better into this environnt.

"To you it’s pointless, but to these people, it ans a lot. Those fighting on the platform may do so for money, for honor, or like Rabbit, simply for the thrill of combat, but they each have their pursuit. And those below, so seek excitent, others money yet they each have their thoughts, don’t they?" Su Yanyi said in a steady voice, outlining a lengthy idea before posing the question back to Qin Jiran.
