What does ’that’s fine’ an exactly? Su Yanyi pondered seriously the implication behind Qin Jiran’s words: did he want to sleep, or not?

Both of their minds were highly developed, and coincidentally, they tended to use their intelligence to guess each other’s thoughts. It was probably an issue of having too high IQs—neither liked to be straightforward, always preferring to guess instead. But the guessing led to confusion, as it was never clear.

"Let’s just sleep then," Su Yanyi decided, unable to discern the aning behind ’that’s fine.’ She felt it was better to sleep. After all, it was already strange enough lying in the sa bed. There was no need for more words!

Su Yanyi believed she remained calm and collected, but to Qin Jiran, her words sohow carried a hint of petulance, as if she was pouting!

Qin Jiran thought he must have misheard again because how could Su Yanyi possibly be pouting? That was absolutely inconceivable!

"Good night." Since Su Yanyi had given the go-ahead to sleep, sleep he must. After saying this, Qin Jiran closed his eyes.

Su Yanyi glared with her eyes, uncertain if she was angry or simply frustrated, hastily turned off the light, and pulled the comforter over, ready to sleep as well.

But it was this action of pulling the comforter that made Su Yanyi realize a problem—why was there only one comforter on such a large bed?

Su Yanyi thought about it and was certain that there was only this one comforter in the entire room, which was sowhat distressing. She looked at Qin Jiran, who seed to have fallen asleep. Lying there in his pajamas without a comforter and his sleeping posture so impeccable it could be used as a model, he didn’t seem to have any intention of stealing her comforter.

The temperature inside the room was not low, but it always got a bit cooler in the middle of the night. Su Yanyi hesitated for a mont before she pulled up a corner of the comforter over Qin Jiran’s body.

"Don’t steal the comforter tonight. You can only cover half." Su Yanyi’s habit when sleeping was to be under a comforter; giving up half was already quite generous of her.

Qin Jiran’s eyes opened once again, bright and complex, deep, and even in the darkness, one could feel that he was looking at Su Yanyi.

Half the bed, half the comforter—what Qin didn’t know was that the half Su Yanyi shared with him wasn’t just half of the bed and the comforter, but half of her entire world!

Even if Qin Jiran didn’t know this at the ti, his heart was filled with joy and emotion. Whatever the reason might have been, this half of the bed, half of the comforter, was enough to be etched into his heart, becoming a beautiful mory he would never forget.

In the darkness, Qin Jiran smiled silently. Then, Su Yanyi heard the System’s notification sound.

[Congratulations to the host for completing an Upgrade Task. Plus one point. Current stage points are ten. Completion of Level One points task achieved. To be upgraded to Level Two, the host must complete the Upgrade Task which is to personally make a cup of coffee for Mr. Qin. The host must do it themselves, and it must be palatable, gaining a favorable review. Please continue to work hard!]

Completed! Ten points! Hearing this notification, Su Yanyi’s feelings were indescribably complex—with surprise, joy but also warmth and an inexplicable guilt. To elicit a genuine smile from soone, such a task is difficult yet also easy. She had never purposely tried it before—there had been anxiety, disappointnt, anticipation, and hesitation, and she had made many efforts, occasionally feeling depressed, until today. She finally completed this task, making Qin Jiran genuinely smile ten tis. The range of emotions welling up from within her was indeed complicated.
