Actually, he knew very well that from the day the two of them got married, he knew that he didn’t have a chance. But during the few days he spent with Anita in England, he felt that maybe it was still possible if he tried hard.
But after returning to the country, he could not deceive himself anymore, so in order to ease his sadness, he could only devote himself to work.
"Ethan, aren’t you getting off work? You’ve been working overti for two days since you ca back from overseas. Hurry up and go ho," his colleague, Al, said with concern when he saw Ethan’s tired look.
"I’m fine, Al. I’ll get off work after this." Ethan looked up and smiled.
"Hey, you really can’t be like this. Did sothing happen to you? You can tell us," Al said when he saw that Ethan didn’t seem to be getting off work anyti soon.
"Don’t worry, I’m really fine. I’m almost done with this project. I promise I’ll get off work later," Ethan said with a smile while looking at Al.
"Okay, then hurry back after you’re done." After all, they were colleagues. It was not appropriate to say too much, so in the end, Al did not continue. He packed his things and got off work with his computer.
"Ethan, I’ll get going first. My girlfriend is still waiting for downstairs."
"Yes, bye. I hope your date goes well," Ethan said with a smile as he looked at Al.
When he was alone in the office after Al left, Ethan looked up at the quiet office and smiled bitterly.
He actually wanted to go ho and sleep, but whenever he was free, he would always think of Anita. Only busy work could make him forget these worries for the ti being, so he could only keep himself busy.
His phone rang. Ethan took the phone and glanced at it. He thought it was a ssage reminding him of his bank statent, but he didn’t expect it to be from Anita. He was stunned and opened it.
"Yes, I’ve been a little busy recently. Let’s wait a while." After thinking about it for a long ti, Ethan finally rejected Anita’s invitation. Recently, he really wanted to move on and not live like this anymore.
After replying to the ssage and finishing the last bit of work, Ethan closed the computer and went ho.
After Anita sent the ssage, she had just placed her phone on the table when she heard a knock on the door.
The owner must have sent the perfu lemon. Anita thought about it and hurried to the door.
"Hello, this is Owen’s ho, right? This is the perfu lemon you ordered," the delivery man said with a smile as he stood at the door.
"Yes, this is the place. Thank you," Anita said with a smile as she opened the door and looked at the delivery man standing at the door.
"Where should it be placed? We’ll move it in for you," the two delivery n at the door said again.
"Yes, put it here at the entrance. Yes, just put it here," Anita said as she took two steps back and looked around the living room. Hearing Anita’s words, the two of them didn’t say anything else and moved the pot of perfu lemons into the house together.
"Yes, put it here at the television entrance. Yes, just put it here," Anita said as she took two steps back and looked around the living room. Hearing Anita’s words, the two of them didn’t say anything else and moved the pot of perfu lemons into the house together.
After wiping the sweat off their faces, the two of them took the water. "It’s okay. The flowers are already placed. We’ll get going first."
Anita nodded and closed the door after sending the two of them out.
"The flower delivery guy is here?" Owen said as he walked out while drying his freshly washed hair. He looked at the perfu lemon beside the TV cabinet and then at Anita.
"Yes, they just left. What do you think about putting it in this position?" Anita said while listening to Owen.
"Well, it’s good here." Owen took two steps forward and stood beside the perfu lemon. He looked at it and smiled.
"Oh, yes, since you like it so much, you have to rember to water it from now on. Don’t let it die," Anita said with a smile while looking at Owen.
"Well, is it hard to raise?" Owen asked with a frown as he listened to Anita.
"I don’t know, but I raised a pot before and it died." Anita smiled sheepishly.
"I was wondering why you didn’t want to buy perfu lemons that day. So you’ve had failures." Owen smiled and teased Anita.
"But it’s okay. When we get ho tomorrow, we can ask Mom. She raises flowers often, so she should be more experienced."
"Well, I’ll go back to my room and wash up first." Anita didn’t want to discuss this perfu lemon with Owen too much, so she turned and headed for her room.
